Altering the Bodybuilding Skill

Suggestion type New Skill

Suggestion scope Survivor and Zombie Weapon Skill

Suggestion description After thinking about it for a while, doesn't it seem more logical that bodybuilding would affect strength much more than your health? After seeing the problem in this skill, although it is a very nice skill to have, I figured that it would be better to make bodybuilding a skill that would affect melee weapons. I know that when it comes down to melee weapons the axe and the knife are preferred but I would like to bring back the times of the good old fashioned clubbing of someone's brains. This skill would add +1 damage to fists, or claws, and the other blunt melee weapons allowing a resurgence in the diversity of killing methods available in the game.

I know that not too many people would be happy about losing their extra ten hit points, me either, but I feel that if we come up with a decision to this issue then we can wait for its alteration in the game until we decide on the name of the skill that will allow people to have their 60 hit points. Maybe the skill could be antibiotics, or vaccinations, but no need to worry about that, what do you think about the issue at hand?

Keep Votes

  1. Keep I have to vote for my brainchild. I may change if more people have the same reason.--Slowwber 17:39, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep/change - Not bad, but I think the damage increase should only apply to blunt weapons (baseball bat, length of pipe, etc.) and not bladed weapons (axe and knife). Going back down to 50 HP wouldn't really bug me because it would affect everyone, but it looks like popular opinion is that there should be two skills. "Fitness" could add hit points (like body building does now... everyone retroactively gets this skill), and "Body Building" adds damage with blunt melee weapons. --Uncle Bill 06:29, 11 May 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill Yes, it does seem more logical that bodybuilding would affect strength, however your suggestion of having it increase damage will probably get this shot down. However, a more thought out plan, with bodybuilding renamed something like Fitness and then going on to suggest a bodybuilding skill might work.--Seventythree 16:39, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  2. kill partly as above.--Vista +1 17:27, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - Just suggest a new skill called "body building" and say that the current body building skill would get renamed to something else. Unfortunately, giving claws +1 damage would make bites even more useless. Plus it wouldn't make sense for this to affect some blunt weapons but not axes or knives (if you want to increase damage dealt by those weapons, justify it as some kind of "critical hit" skill where your mastery of a weapon lets you attack precisely). --Reaper with no name TJ! 17:40, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - To me, the current form of Body Building makes perfect sense. Body Building, it implies a bigger, tougher, more meaty body: ie. more resistant to damage. Call it fitness, and people would probably have a similar complaint: Seems like you ought to be able to run further instead, maybe increase your AP, etc. Further, that's quite a big buff to claw damage right there, for a virtually worthless increase to survivor capabilities. --Rgon 19:13, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - Just yesterday i was thinking of body building being different, like a sub-skill so you can carry more items. not quite what I expected. Giving it +1 damage is too much, and the bite would be useless. Body building is good where it's at. --Heavy DDR 22:57, 10 May 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill A knife with a hit percentage of 50% and a damage of three? I don't think so.--User:Axe27/Sig 02:23, 11 May 2007 (BST)
Re If you had read the suggestion more carefully you would know that this skill doesn't effect knives or axes only the worthless weapons like cricket bats and such.--Wee Sonny MacGregor 03:00, 11 May 2007 (BST) Non-author reply struck. --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 03:48, 11 May 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - I think that the word choice for the skill was incorrect instead of the intent. A new subskill might work better for what you are proposing. --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 03:48, 11 May 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - It should be renamed "weight lifting" and not affect hit percentages, or make them go down.--Ace Ciphrer Zer0 05:20, 11 May 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill - as 73 --Duke GarlandLCD 07:42, 11 May 2007 (BST)

  13. Kill - PKers should never be better than zombies at killing people, zombies only + is that they can kill more efficiently in an AP war.--karek 07:34, 16 May 2007 (BST)
