NEWS

October 9th, 2007

The killer group, the Spartans, have declared war on the Rolt Heights Vigilante Patrol. The first shots were fired today as an epic battle took place in the Ayliffe Street PD. Spartan Leader Toothdecay was seen killing three RHVP members. --Toothdecay 18:36, 14 October 2007 (BST)

James, please stop editing my posts to say we took two casualties. Unless you can find proof that the Spartans died please show it because it isn't true.--Toothdecay 21:41, 24 October 2007 (BST)

Moved from main page to talk page due to Toothdecay's logic. Even if James can't find proof, if you don't have any either, you shouldn't be able to post such "facts" without proof as well. However, if such proof can be provided, please feel free to repost your news with the proof included, either by uploading a picture or through a link. Remember, I/Witness is a completely free tool and I heavily encourage its use so that situations such as these do not arise. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 22:28, 24 October 2007 (BST)

Nothing is more is necessary. Feel free to add your news once more, for I shall not remove it. Please remember to cite the link. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 01:28, 25 October 2007 (BST)

Hmm, that picture appears to be from a more recent encounter than the first news posting was. But no worries, I won't press the issue, as I don't have iWitness installed and thus have no physical evidence to support my claim. I hope you Spartan folks have a nice day (As this is just a game, no hard feelings?). Also, feel free to post you news back up, as I will refrain from editing it further.--James Klein 23:19, 26 October 2007 (PST)

You believe installation is required? Much to the contrary my fellow wiki member, it is used through the process of bookmarklets.
Iwitness FAQ said:
While playing urban dead in the the game window, open one of the bookmarklets (the one corresponding to the type of record you want) from within your browser's bookmarks / favorites. The bookmarklet should open a new window and request some input. At the prompt, enter a comment such as "PK report" or "revive request" or "mall siege". Iwitness uses its own windows and will not interfere in any way with game play, but you must allow pop ups from www.urbandead.info for it to function fully.
Of course, you could just do it the easy way and install the udWidget. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 12:34, 27 October 2007 (BST)

Old News

22/6/2006 - Message recieved at around 6:20 PM GMT. 27.00 MHz: "Mass horde of 200 zombies in 85,15 need help! Send everyone!"

5/6/02 - A large majority of the buildings, including some TRPs, are over-barricaded. This 'burb sure could use a barricade plan map. --Raystanwick

I agree. Just the other day, I got revived, and looked for a place to go to safety. Nada. I ended up in Rhodenbank, fallin asleed at a monument, as there were no acessable building anywhere. RHR has been seen crossing over to spray graffiti, could they be doing this too, or is it just paranoid survivors?--William Raker 12:58, 30 May 2006 (BST)

Barricade Plan

Moved to Rolt Heights Barricade Plan -- boxy T L ZS PA DA 13:06, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

December 7th Response

The Militant Order of Barhah reported that the Burchell Arms managed to withstand 30+ survivor assaults that started two days ago and continued into today. Zombies have little doubt that these were attempts made by the half-dozen survivor groups assembled in the area to regain their lost foothold in the building. But when the dust settled zombies still held the building. Jorm, Prophet to the Militant Order of Barhah, declared that not only were zombies in command of the building, but that the booze was still flowing freely. As such, local survivors in need of devival can expect services to remain at current, constant levels. If this holds, much needed reinforcements will no doubt flood the survivor revive queues. --Sauth 18:04, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher, who put on his lecturing glasses, had this to say, "It should be mentioned that 'devival' is not in fact a real word, even though it appears to be an attempt to create an opposite meaning for the word 'revival'. The problem stems from its inappropriate use of the prefix 'de', wherein words like 'form' and 'deform' have opposite meanings, it requires that every letter of the original verb be retained. It is for this very reason that while devival sounds cool, it is not in fact the proper method by which the prefix should haven been applied. I would therefore like to suggest that instead of creating new words that we all work towards using the ones we already have. Perhaps the use of 'un-revival' would meet this need in all future conversations. Remember people, don't do it for me... do it for SCIENCE!" --Caleb UsherNW 15:23, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
The most (dis?)honorable Caleb Usher should note that in today's day and age, it is important to become knowledgeable outside of one narrow field. He is advised to study up on literary terms and usages, whereby he may discover such gems as "satire" [[1]] and poetic license [[2]]. Clearly, in the interests of forwarding harman enlightenment towards true Barhah, links have been provided for the noted drug-pusher to increase his realm of knowledge. Indeed, it was he himself who moved said entry above away from its contextual location here, so there should have been no need for misbegotten false conclusions. Clearly, the thinking zahmbah can see that the use of "devival" is both a colloquial term of their environment, but also of critical import to the piece of parody. Thank you for your time. --Sauth 20:27, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Noted NecroTech scientist Caleb Usher, responded with, "As this is no longer suburb news, by any stretch of the imagination, I would defer any further comments be directed to a more appropriate discussion page. That said, I'm afraid you shall not hear any further comment on your remarks, or rebuttal as it were, from me. Thus I have chosen to end the commentary cycle in the most appropriate manner befitting the circumstances. As always, I offer up the possibility of further conversation in the privacy of my centre for the furthering of studies in human/zombie psyche, should you choose to do so. Until then, good day sir." --Caleb UsherNW 22:03, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Proposed Changes to Barricade Plan

Through the joint efforts of the BAR and the DEM, a new barricade plan has been developed for use in Rolt Heights, which takes into account the barricade plans of neighbouring suburbs, the Uniform Barricading Policy, and local considerations. The plan is the result of consolidating the original Wiki plan with the Burchell Arms Regulars' plan for the area surrounding the Burchell Arms.

I hope that everybody will appreciate this new plan, but it will be left up on this discussion page for a period of at least 1 week in order to allow other local residents to voice their opinions and make any further suggestions.

EDIT: St. Arnold's Church [80, 18] and Wray Towers [86, 10] made VSB in order to conform with the UBP and increase the number and spread of VSB safehouses. --Kolossov 15:05, 14 December 2007 (UTC)-- 15:05, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
