Basic Info:

  • Office buildings owned by the company often associated with the zombie outbreak. From the outside, they are indistinguishable from other buildings, but characters with the NecroTech Employment skill are able to recognise them.
  • Among the internal descriptions found in NecroTech Buildings:
The NecroTech logo is set in the wall behind the front desk, and doors open onto powered-down computer rooms and laboratories."
  • If a generator is running inside the building:
"The NecroTech logo glows gently above the front desk, and doors open onto a number of brightly-lit laboratories and computer rooms."
  • NecroTech offices are tall enough for survivors to commit suicide from. They also provide a vantage point from which binoculars can be used.
  • Necrotech Buildings can be barricaded normally.

Current Status

You are inside the Oxley Building. The NecroTech logo is set in the wall behind the front desk, and doors open onto powered-down computer rooms and laboratories. The laboratories have been ruined, with broken equipment smashed to the floor. The walls are damp and crumbling, with pools of stagnant water gathering across the uneven floor. The doors to the street have been left wide open.

Somebody has spraypainted Zeds hammering on the barricades - keep them up! onto a wall.

There is another zombie here.

Description

Necrotech

The Oxley Building is a NecroTech facility located in the suburb of West Becktown. Though a faceless corporate structure to the uninitiated, this facility acts as the heart of R&D for NecroTech within the suburb. This facility is one of three NecroTech facilities found in the suburb. The Oxley Building contains operational NecroTech offices that service the dual Revive Points at Pullin Square and Damon Way. Security for the Oxley Building is maintained by survivors from the DHPD Uppill Precinct. The Uppill NecroTech Office representative had this to say, "We at NecroTech strive to eliminate the undead blight present in Malton. We have converted the offices in this building into a NecroTech Revivification Center. The Oxley Building uses the DHPD Radio Band (26.60 Mhz) for long range communication. However short range operational communication is done here on on Two-Way Radio. All personnel turn to Channel 2."

Members of project NecroWatch renovated the facility in recent months, as they installed sensor eyes for A.L.I.C.E. throughout the building and uploaded NecroNet 2.0 into the facility's system terminals.

Mandate

NecroTech staff continue to follow directive 42-A, issued by the head office on January 19th 2006, with the activation and manufacture of MK-II revivification syringes. While the cost in time and effort are currently high the certainty provided by being able to manufacture a constant stream of syringes has mitigated early concerns.

The activation of NecroNet with all NecroTech buildings has also allowed scientists to apply the DNA tracking research they have gathered to date. The field research staff stationed at the Oxley Building feel certain that they can crack the mystery surrounding the spread of the virus as well as help monitor aberrant zombie activity within West Becktown.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Extremely Heavily (EH) barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the barricade plans set forth by local survivors, who routinely monitor the barricade level for this building. This building is meant to serve as a safehouse for Malton's veteran survivors, and thus requires the Free Running skill to be properly utilized. Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building. Any survivor found lowering the barricades may be directly "put to the question" by any survivors present at that time. If this happens the accused survivor must present a valid reason for their actions or be labeled a zombie spy/death cultist and be judged accordingly.

NecroNet Reports

Zombie tracking reports are a free service provided by the NecroTech corporation to all its staff and local survivors in order to help facilitate quicker response times when managing zombie threats and to build a greater awareness of zombie migration patterns within the 9x9 block region around the Oxley Building. As a cautious reminder, only those zombies tagged with the DNA Extractor will appear on these scans, so actual numbers may vary when dealing with older zombies (i.e. Brain Rot).

Current Events

May 2009

Very safe! A large number of strong players who are part of the Dunell Hills Police Department, the building is powered, no zombies outside and inside, a radio transmitter has been set up here and the building is extremely heavily barricaded! --Bigfootr 03:37, 15 May 2009 (BST)

October 2008

Recent update - October 16, 2008 Oxley building is extreamly heavily barricaded its official Free Running entrance Wipley fire stations barricades have being destroyed and the doors left open, not much Human activity in the area, the Revive Point at Pullin Square is still active with Revivers, six or seven zombies are usually working on Oxleys barricades, with no one left to repair them theres not much time until Oxleys barricades are down and the building ransacked, generally West Becktown is in bad shape The Dead and Feral Zombies seem to be taking there tole on the limited numbers of survivors left who haven't gone south for friendly grounds.

June 2008

Recent update - June 9, 2008 Forget Oxley, full retreat from West Becktown is in order. There are other buildings in other suburbs that need assistance more than a destroyed suburb. We will have to revisit after the hordes move on, but as for now, Oxley is a Killing Zone and is to be avoided at all costs. Szutkra 4:17 P.M. June 9, 2008.

Oxley NecroNet Report as of June 3, 2008: Many more PKers and GKers have moved into the suburb, concentrating their efforts on taking Oxley down and all those who try to defend it. We will get our NecroTech building back, it just won't be through reviving and headshotting zombies. Now we go to war, against these zergers will no morals. No more Mr Nice Survivor. Szutkra 10:10 P.M. June 3, 2008.

May 2008

Recent update - May 29, 2008 The Dead and other zombie groups have taken Oxley, but their efforts won't last long. We have plenty of people cycling in and out of Caiger Mall to bring West Becktown back under control, it will just take a few days. We'll be back in our NecroTech building soon, without fail. The cookies will have to wait, I want revenge for my ruined office. Szutkra 7:33 P.M. May 29, 2008.

Oxley NecroNet Report as of May 15, 2008: Oxley stands, though not without its difficulties. The zombie known as NoRmedic(http://www.urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=277907) is the biggest danger, spending all his time and energy towards bringing down our barricades to destroy our generator. He is NOT to be revived under any circumstance, he is anti-survivor in every way possible. Aside from him, Oxley is very safe, with very few, if any, to revive at the RP. Perhaps I should begin baking some of my famous Chocolate Chip Mint Cookies again.... but there is still much work to be done. Szutkra 9:17 P.M. May 15, 2008.

Recent update - March 27 2008

Building under attack, atleast 3 zeds inside when I escaped. Many survivors still left inside. Help would be very much apreciated.

November 9th, 2006 - [click] "So far today, the group of us that are inside of the Oxley Building are holding firm with the building Very Strongly barricaded. Our generator is running low on fuel, and we could use some more if anyone can get to us before it runs out. The radio is on a frequency...26.60. I have yet to see any Zeds around, none have shown up anywhere near us. This is a safe haven for those who need to regain their stamina and rest." [fizzle] [whine] [static]
