Welcome & Signatures
Hi Stelar! I saw your recent edits and noticed you hadn't yet been welcomed to UDWiki on behalf of Project Welcome! If you have any questions or need any help, feel free to contact me at my talk page.
I also wanted to mention a note on signatures. I saw your edits to your signature on the St. Simon's DangerReport. If you'd like instructions on how to edit the look of your signature, check out Help:Signatures — it explains how to make your signature show up a certain way every time you type it in (using ~~~~ as normal). If I can help out at all, let me know! And welcome again to UDWiki. Bob Moncrief EBD•W! 01:43, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi! I thought I'd replied to this like a month ago, but apparently not! Thanks for the welcome :) It took me a bit to figure out the signature, but I worked it out. Not ready for the fancier kind yet though, lol. --stelar (talk) 08:57, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
Salutations & Thanks!
Greetings, Stelar. I would like to commend you for your noticeable additions and updates to the danger statuses of Malton's buildings. Long may you walk the path that grants Enlightenment to those who would seek it. --PyroSadist (talk) 03:06, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi! Thank you for noticing :) I know when I started playing years ago, I would check the wiki for whether a building was accessible or not. So I figure that there's probably others out there too doing the same. --stelar (talk) 08:51, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
Hello

- Hi! Thanks for the kind words. Feel free to reach out if you need a hand with anything. I'll do my best to help out :) stelar (talk) 11:52, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
Congrats!
Congratulations on your promotion! You've got some work ahead of you:
- Required reading: Help:The NOT so secret diary of a sysop
- Double-check Bob's work on A/SA to make sure he didn't mess anything up when archiving things earlier
- Move the rest of the A/M archives from the old system over into the A/SA system...
...since Bob and I haven't gotten around to it in the last four years. >_> —Aichon— 14:52, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks! And thanks? Haha. I've been a sysop for like an hour and already you're loading me with work. I guess this is how the hazing works here :P stelar (talk) 14:56, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
- Ehh...some say "hazing". I prefer to call it "harnessing excitement". ;) —Aichon— 04:17, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
- Or are you sure it's not just "new kid! let's dump all the work we don't want to do on her!"?? :P stelar (talk) 04:43, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
- It's more "this is what we should have done, you should also do it to type thing. --Rosslessness ; the shambling custodian of UD's past... 20:06, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

I'm about to message you
This is just confirmation that it's me doing so. —Aichon— 23:20, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
- This is just a confirmation that I got the message you sent this confirmation about. stelar Talk|MCM|EBD|Scourge 07:57, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for confirming the confirmation that I sent you in the interest of confirming my identity. I can confirm that the issue regarding which I contacted you has been fully addressed, though should you have any doubts, Bob can confirm my confirmation of your confirmation of my confirmation, given that he was a party to it as well. —Aichon— 19:17, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

Re-evals
So, the community opinion is pretty clear with the re-evaluations. There's a distinct lack of trust in the current team, leaving us with no choice other than to clean house and dump the whole lot. Just you and me after that...at least until I quit later this year. Then it'll be just you, with no one to contest your leadership. Sound good? —Aichon— 17:25, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

- Yeah, sounds good. They had a good run, but if I'm going to be the wiki overlord, I can't have sysops standing in my way! stelar Talk|MCM|EBD|Scourge 11:50, 21 July 2018 (UTC)

Wiki error
Thanks for letting me know about my mistake! I thought I had fixed that before I left. I apologize for the error. --Roland (talk) 13:39, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
The Entire Code Visible
Thank you, stelar! I have been wondering about the abbreviated templates and figured there must be some place where the full code was visible. I simply had no idea where to go. I think you just answered most of the questions I've ever had about userbox templates. Thank you so much for your help. This is great. I really appreciate it. What drew me here?
I was just looking for a random wiki on the Internet to not just improve but to also learn from. I don't play any games, especially video games, so that is out of the window. Seem that I am very good with grammar and have an interest in anti-vandalism work, I'd like to be, someday, an administrator on this wiki. --Auri (Express yourself, be heard!) 03:22, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
Babblepedia
I was wondering if you know how to create a wiki. I never hosted my own wiki before without it saying like .shoutwiki or .miraheze. Is it okay if you can create a wiki with MediaWiki? Wiki name to be called Babblepedia and the domain to be babblepedia.org. --Auri (Express yourself, be heard!) 03:37, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- I did create my own wiki wayyyy back in the day using wiki-site.com. This was ten years or more ago, so I can't give you any further advice on e.g. putting something on a domain name etc. Bob Moncrief EBD•W! 03:43, 1 February 2020 (UTC)

Sorry to bother you
I can't recall how to talk to a mod for help; please forgive me if I am doing this wrong. I need to report something I consider vandalism, but don't know how to forward an email that explains the problem I'm having: "The Urban Dead Wiki page Hulme Park has been changed by TripleU". I have tried to send him a sort of 'cease and desist note' but he seems to be a Philistine. How can I talk to you to explain this? -- Catherine Cushing 03:02, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Catherine, TripleU here.
- You can report vandalism at UDWiki:Administration/Vandal Banning. UDWiki:Administration/Arbitration might be a suitable alternative, or, ideally, we could reach an understanding on our own.
- I apologize for stepping on your toes; I appreciate how enormously tedious it is to work on pages as numerous as location pages, and I am grateful for any and all efforts to improve those 10,000 pages. We do have stylistic differences for the park pages. Here are my objections to the style appearing in the 2019 versions:
- They use ==Size Two Headers== rather than ===Size Three Headers===. While size two is usually the standard, size three is standard for location pages. This is originally due to the origins of these pages: in ancient times, each suburb had a page for each type of location it contained, such as [[Parks in Shearbank]], where each individual location was its own section headed with ==The Location's Name== and containing ===Sections About Each Location===. When they were split into individual pages, users copy-pasted the content, resulting in most locations using ===Size Three Headers=== for its sections. It's easier to convert the smaller number of size two headers into size three than to do the opposite, meaning that size three headers are the more practical way to achieve standardization across location pages. Also, I believe that size three headers look better on location pages, as they tend to be short pages that maybe didn't even need sections in the first place.
- They have excessive spaces between sections. This is nonstandard and visually unappealing.
- They use Template:Revivification Requests, which exists only to link to a website that is no longer operating.
- They use File:Lantana, park pages sign.jpg, which promises more content is coming soon. Most of these pages will never see more content added and are not being actively expanded, so this seems inaccurate. Labeling them as a stub that wants more content would be more accurate.
- My removal of File:Butterflies on Buddleia.jpg came as a part of my attempts to de-clutter these pages, but that may have been excessive. I would be happy to leave these images as I continue to edit park pages in the future, although I believe they would look better on the left side after I remove File:Lantana, park pages sign.jpg, and I believe the description of the image should not be bolded. The result would look like this.
- I don't intend to focus my edits on parks specifically, but I have for many years worked to standardize and neaten the pages for all 10,000 blocks, and I intend to continue including the park pages in this impossibly large effort. For what it's worth, I am unlikely to ever get to the large majority of parks. --VVV RPMBG 17:56, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
