Basic Info:

  • Malls are an excellent place to find a wide range of items; the only major items that cannot be found here are revivification syringes and fuel cans. As such, Malls are frequently used as safehouses and fortresses by survivors. Zombies often check inside (when they can get in), and organized zombie groups sometimes lay siege to them. They are listed as a Tactical Resource Point.

Tynte Mall is a four-block shopping mall in the suburb of Pimbank. The RRF has taken to calling Tynte Mall the Anti-Caiger Mall due to the perceived weakness of its defense.

Allegedly, Tynte Mall has the worst Mall Santa in the city.

External Description: A four-story red-brick building with revolving doors.

Coordinates: [67, 44], [67, 45], [68, 44], [68, 45]

Current Revive Point: Breddy Park [66, 41]

While all sections of the mall are usually barricaded to Extremely Heavily, two entry points are kept at Very Strong: Bradbury Library [67, 43], and the Retallick Building [67, 46].

The Mall is essentially safe, with all four corners powered. There are occasional minor zombie break-ins, most of which are repelled before they can do much damage. A large fraction of the current Mall population seems to be made up of Malton Rangers. - TechEwan 02:03, 2 August 2008 (BST)

Mall is in survivor hands and powered, though population is fairly low. The zombie population outside is not too considerable, however, and the area, for the moment, appears safe. - Dimmswick 01:24, 24 July 2008 (BST)

The mall is almost completely destroyed, with only one corner left. After the Nuttall Museum fell, the mall was the next target. --Arcology 18:59, 27 June 2008 (BST)

Some barricades have already been attacked by wandering zombies and therefore weakened. Despite this, however, the mall is still technically 'safe'. --Arcology 16:54, 25 June 2008 (BST)

Just ran through Tynte mall, in zed hands though not overly large population in the mall or on the out side. THe mall is ruined and the doors are opened.

NW Corner - 1 zed inside; NE Corner - 4 zeds inside, 2 outside; SE Corner - 1 zed inside; SW Corner - 1 zed inside, 2 outside.

22 zeds outside in a two block radius around the mall with 1 outside nutall museum 4 outside Retalick and 2 at Lasder. Didn't have time to check the interior of any buildings beyond the mall, needed to get to a safe house. This means there is about 33 zeds in and around Tynte mall. --Raith Darkblade 17:56, 12 June 2008 (BST)

An Excursion incursion in the NW corner meets with little resistance, sweeping into the underpopulated NE, ruining it, and playing on the revolving doors. The entire mall falls into ruin mere hours later.

All is fine, the barricades are up and there are no zombies in sight, excapt those who want to be revived. At the moment the Mall is a safe place to be in Pimbank.

History

March 2006

After a week-long siege, starting on the 1st March, attacks by the RRF began to regularly breach the barricades by th 7th, leaving zombie hordes in all four corners. The RRF has completely overrun Tynte Mall on March 8. All survivors fled or were killed. However, the Mall was back in survivor hands after a coordinated attack on the next day.

January 2006

Beginning on the morning of January 4, organized zombies with the Mall Tour '06 began to attack the mall. By mid-afternoon, more than 30 zombies had breached the SW corner and killed most of the survivors in that section. Tynte fell and all safehouses in the area were destroyed by the 5th of January. Virtually no human presence was left in Pimbank. Human casualties at Tynte are estimated to be anywhere from 100-175.

The fall of Tynte heralded the birth of Mall Tour '06, though the defeat of both Nichols Mall and Stickling Mall in the preceding days were retrospectively included in the Tour (as Mall Tourists were involved in both sieges).

By January 11th, members of the Tynte Mall Union had received revives from members of the Randallbank Coalition and, along with Johnny V's Cabal and random survivors in the area, had established several safehouses and were making regular barricade runs to Tynte. Members of the Creedy Defense Force and the Tynte Mall Union, with the assistance of other survivor groups, had resecured the mall by January 14th. However zombie precence in the area remained high, and by the 25th January feral zombies and members of various groups as well as random survivors battled for the Mall. Zombies broke into the mall to find it empty, only to be killed and dumped.

Late December 05

Feral zombie numbers steadily increased in the western half of Pimbank and it looked like an attack of some kind on the mall was in the works. At this time, various unaffiliated survivors in the mall started to form the Tynte Mall Union to defend the mall they had come to call home. At this time, members of the Creedy Defense Force fell back due to increased attacks on buildings in Peppardville. Several members of the Randallbank Coalition arrived to assist with the upcoming defense of the mall.

September 05

Tynte Mall was the site of a massacre led by the Undying Scourge in the middle of September, 2005. Total human casualties there were estimated at 40-50.
