Osmondville

Im in osmondville, wheres the best place to meet some of your members? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 16:17, 14 May 2008 (BST)

Hmm, well we don't really have staff pinned down in each suburb... The crews mostly roam around and go where they're needed. There are some folks in Scarletwood, Roftwood and Wray Heights at the moment, though. --John Cannonfodder 22:01, 2 June 2008 (BST)

The Great Suburb Group Massacre

Check-Mark-Reviewed.jpg Group Confirmed.
This group was confirmed active. Thank you for your reply.

Currently the suburb in question is Osmondville but one response to this query will be all that is needed to protect your group link on all suburb pages. I know this is a may seem a stupid request but its for all groups regardless of size. Thank you. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 11:25, 13 July 2008 (BST)

This group is confirmed as active. Do not remove them from any suburb listings. --Adavastor 17:10, 31 July 2008 (BST)

The Great Suburb Group Massacre, 2009

Check-Mark-Reviewed.jpg Group Confirmed.
This group was confirmed active. Thank you for your reply.

Occasionally, general checks are done of group activity. This may seem like a stupid question, but it's for all groups, regardless of size. Linkthewindow  Talk  11:23, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Yes, this group is active - Stephen Krantz 17:48, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! --Pedentic 17:46, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Following on from the above

Do you know that the MFD is listed on more than half of Malton's suburbs? Are you guys really active in 51 suburbs? It works out at about 1 guy a suburb (Based on your stats page numbers?) Do you have a central leadership or is it up to individual members?

It just seems a bit excessive. Your even listed in 4 suburbs with no fire departments! I'm more than happy to clear up the listings if you can give me an indication of where you main focus is.

Thanks. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 21:53, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, I haven't counted them, but this might be right. I can't summarily answer your question for all suburbs in one go, but it might help to give a short overview of MPD operations, so you can see what is happening: Like the other DEM core groups the MPD organizes the play in division (=city quadrants) and districts (=areas of 5 suburbs). In a division each group has some players in each district. These form one or two teams (meaning: there are players of several groups playing together in a team) and these teams roam the suburbs of their districts, helping where help is needed most. So, there is not necessarily a permanent presence in a suburb, but these teams are there if it is necessary (or to scout for some good trouble). In some areas of the city it is handled differently in the way that teams are formed out of members of one DEM core group only (example: MFU in the Southeast). But usually teams roam 5 suburb districts. I think it's sensible to list the groups in this way, because citizens might want to be able to see where they can turn for help in their area.
I only list a DEM member group on a suburb page if there is a team operating in the relevant district and that group has active players in that team. That's the policy I suggest to other members of DEM groups. Of course some changes in the organizational structure might habe been missed (teams disbanding or whatever). The best way to keep the lists up-to-date is propably to challange the group in question if they are active in the particular suburb you have in mind. Then an officer from that area will usually respond (or, if not, it's obviously alright to update the relevant page). If a group is active somewhere can't be answered in one go for 100 suburbs, I think.
Anyways - thanks for the heads up. It's good to see someone reads the lists. - Stephen Krantz 22:17, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, its pretty much Just the MFD. No other group is listed in even half the suburbs they are. Ill have a look at their command page, and try and work it out. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 22:26, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Right, based on the listing and manually chacking if each listed commander is still active, the MFD appear to have no organised people in the following regions. (To use their own mapping)
  • NW4
  • NE2
  • NE3
  • NE5
  • SW2
  • SW3
  • SW4
  • SW5
  • SE1

Would this be a fair reflection stephen? As a high ranking DEM'er I'm sure you can flag this up on Brainstock. I'll check back in two weeks. Thanks. RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 19:10, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

SW-2: MFD are active there. SW-3: currently no MFD. SW-4 and SW-5 are closed districts (no permanent DEM group members there). I'll go and shake the NW, NE and SE folks, so they can respond. - Stephen Krantz 19:52, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, don't want new recruits wandering off! --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 19:58, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
SE-1: No permanent MFD presence.
