Suggestion description
I think this would be a decent and balanced solution to a very frustrating game mechanic. At the moment, standing up costs quite a bit of AP. Many players use their dead time to regenerate AP and prepare for a new day. However, it is very frustrating when I have waited a day for my 50 AP and I end up with only 40 AP or so. I understand that Ankle Grab nerfs this mechanic, however I feel it would be better to have 1 (Ankle Grab)/6 (Ankle Grab + Headshot) /10 (Default) /15 (Headshot) AP subtracted from a player when they are killed, as opposed to when they stand up. It would still cost 1 AP to stand up, but no more than that.

So basically, the AP that a player would usually spend standing up is automatically taken from a player upon death, and the AP cost standing up is reduced to always 1. For example:

I'm a zombie without Ankle Grab and I am killed by a survivor without Headshot. At the time of death, I have 50 AP. Upon death, I lose 10 AP, dropping my AP to 40. I stand up at the permanent cost of 1 AP and my AP drops to 39. However, if I choose to wait 5 hours instead of standing up, I'll have 50 AP. I can now stand up with 49 AP, rather than potentially losing a rough 3rd of my maximum AP and standing up with 35 AP. It seems a little fairer to me.

Kill Votes

1. Kill - Nerfs ?rise tactics, I don't use the ?rise command itself, but I do enjoy the ability to use the stand up button when I find myself inside after someone kills me on their last AP, or is just too silly to dump me immediately (see the bottom of my user page). Basically, this suggestion is removing my ability to choose when I loose the AP to headshot. As it stands now, I can choose to stand immediately and take the penalty, or stay down to avoid further headshots. I often stand up early when already dumped, so that I get to loose the headshot penalty early, and can work up to near 50AP. It's only in green suburbs that further headshots outside are likely -- boxy ^{talk • teh rulz} 02:41 12 September 2009 (BST)

3. Kill - This idea has many flaws in it. Mainly the static 1 AP stand up cost. Death wouldn't become an inconvienence to anyone anymore, and would deteriorate the game replayibility. Alex is a veteran survivor of the Malton outbreak who with the Crimson Clan lives primarily in Havercoft and her neighboring suburbs. Spam/Dupe Votes

1. Spam - This is utterly ridiculous when applied to actual gameplay, the benefit comes of taking the penalty immediately for ?rise, or for newbies without ankle grab who have walked to their nearest revive point (sapping their AP at 2 per block) and get killed quickly by an idiot. This doesn't actually help anyone, it doesn't improve gameplay and it nerfs both newbies and zombies. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 20:42, 12 September 2009 (BST)

Voting Rules

Current Suggestions Advice to Suggesters Adding options to your suggestion is not good practice. Others will not vote on the options, only the main body; please don't ask them to do so. Once you have posted your suggestion, it is considered complete. Spam votes are not a "strong kill", they are simply here to prevent the utterly ridiculous from clogging up the system. If you do not like the idea, and it's not some crazy uber power or something else ridiculous, VOTE KILL, NOT SPAM. Spam votes will be counted as Kill when votes are tallied. Dupe, for Suggestions that are exact or very close duplicates of previous suggestions. For a Dupe vote to be valid, a link must be provided to the original suggestion. Dupe votes can be used to remove suggestions as described on the cycling suggestions page. Dupe votes will not be counted when votes are tallied. Humourous, for suggestions that are obviously intended to be satirical, or of comedic value only.}} Suggestions can be removed with Humourous votes as described on the cycling suggestions page. Invalid Votes Server Load and Programming Complexity are NOT very good Kill reasons. You are voting on the merit of the suggestion and whether or not you think it belongs in the game. Server load/complexity issues are up to Kevan to decide. X should be implemented first is not a valid reason for a vote. You are voting on the merit of THIS suggestion, not how it compares to others. Votes that do not have reasoning behind them are invalid. You MUST justify your vote.

Comments Re may be used to comment on a vote. Only the original author and the person being REd can comment. Comments are restricted to a single comment per vote, and it is expected that Re comments be as short as possible. Reing every kill vote is considered abuse of the Re comment. A Re does not count as a vote, and any subsequent discussion not part of the Re comment should be held on the discussion page if there is any extended commenting. Note is used by System Operators to invalidate trolling-based votes. Only Sysops may remove troll-based votes and they do so with a strikeout <s></s> in order to preserve the trolling removal for posterity. The voter may contest the strikeout with the Sysop that struck their vote out on the discussion page. Only a System Operator may remove a strikeout.

All Caps Try to avoid YELLING, writing in bold, or using italics, except when emphasizing a point which has escaped other voters.
