20070831 Rot Recovery

Anotherpongo 10:40, 31 August 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
New function for NecroTech buildings

Suggestion scope
Careless survivors, rotters who wish to live again

Suggestion description
Many a careless survivor's finger has slipped. That's why I suggest that there be a way to un-buy Brain Rot.

If you were a standing survivor in a powered NecroTech building, there would be a new option "Recover". This would cost 1AP. Clicking this would make you enter a state of "recovery". During this time, you would be shown the text "You are recovering from your cerebral decay", and the only option available would be to end the recovery (for 1AP). Recovery would automatically be ended if:

  • You die.
  • The NT building you are in is ransacked.

If you spent 3 days in this state of recovery, it would be ended and Brain Rot would be removed from your skills tree. The loss of the NT's power would not effect your recovery: but you would need power in the NT to begin recovery.

This doesn't nerf rotters — this would only work for survivors. If a revived rotter's finger slipped, it would only lose a couple of AP. Recovery would involve spending 3 days in a high-profile resource building. It is possible that this will give zombies an extra incentive to aim for NecroTechs.

Kill Votes

  1. Provisional kill Stick it up on talk. There's something that can be used in here.--Seventythree 12:08, 31 August 2007 (BST)
  2. While I would like to see reversible brain rot, having to stay in a building for three days feels too clunky a solution and unfun. --Toejam A 12:10, 31 August 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - Just no. --The Grimch Sysop-U! 11:23, 31 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Spam - I kinda agree, but, then again, there are MUCH easier ways of doing this. Nalikill 11:26, 31 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Spam - You shouldn't be able to unbuy skills. Besides, how do you "accidentally" buy Brain Rot? You have to scroll all the way to the bottom to even see it. I'm not saying you're making it up...it just can't be that common. --Steakfish 12:49, 31 August 2007 (BST)
