20090808 Cellphone inbox

Suggestion type

Suggestion scope
Mobile phones

Suggestion description
I don't know if it is only me, but very often I miss one functionality as far as mobile phones are concerned. The problem is, you can view the messages sent by other players only once. Many times I accidentally clicked on something else and lost a chance to read the message. I would like to propose a simple, but useful solution to this problem: mobile phone inbox. It would be nice if your mobile phone could keep about 20 last messages, but even last 10 would be OK. As the number of messages is relatively small, it shouldn't cause too many problems for the server. It would make the game a bit more realistic, too. Of course, if a player drops his phone, he will lose all his messages. What do you think?

Keep Votes

  1. - Keep - Author's vote.--Cold one 17:41, 8 August 2009 (BST)
  2. - Keep - So long as it costs 1AP to check your inbox. However, there may be server load issues, but I don't know. Also, you get an author vote.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 17:30, 8 August 2009 (BST)
  3. Keep - Makes sense. - User:Armpit_Odor/sig 17:42, 8 August 2009 (BST)
  4. Keep - I like it.-- Adward  18:00, 8 August 2009 (BST)
  5. Keep - I've missed many messages and can't go back to read them. It would be great to read the old messages too.--DBHT 19:24, 8 August 2009 (BST)
  6. Keep - I don't even use mobile phones, but I do know that sometimes the back button doesn't work (if an action has been taken before the page is fully loaded, I think). Just saving the last message received until a new one comes would be enough -- boxy talkteh rulz 23:13 8 August 2009 (BST)
  7. Keep - Good idea for all those people who can't be bothered to click the back button. --Michalesonbadge.pngTCAPD(╯°□°)╯ ┻━┻ 00:24, 9 August 2009 (BST)
  8. Keep/Change - I've had this problem before, and in the time where I was forced to use Google Chrome, it doesn't let you go back through pages so looking back at the message is impossible. I don't use them anymore but I'd like it if UD had an inbox of maybe the most recent 5 messages you received. --ϑϑ 01:29, 9 August 2009 (BST)
  9. Keep - As above. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 05:48, 9 August 2009 (BST)

  17. Keep - Sounds harmless and relatively useful. --Papa Johnny 20:52, 18 August 2009 (BST)

RE: Firefox 3. I haven't tried IE, Opera or Google Chrome, but I think that if it happens even on one of them, this change is worth introducing.--Cold one 17:47, 8 August 2009 (BST) Authors are only allowed one reply per vote.
