History

Any group has a history, every group has a beginning and an end. Our story just started as we rise from the ashes but what was before then? Around 2005 the groups called Crossman Defense Force (CDF) and Liberation of Crossman Department (LCD) were created in order to protect the aforementioned police department called Crossman. It all happened after a zombie group invaded Darvall Heights and caused the survivors to fight for their lives or flee to safety but ultimately united the neighborhood. The two groups emerged in the aftermath of the battle and zombies were pushed back. LCD and CDF had a long history, which had every element for a good drama - friendship, brotherhood, hate, heated arguments, fighting side by side, back to back. It seemed both groups loved Darvall Heights too much and each had it's own vision for the place, which in turn caused some friction. In the end however the love for their home place reunited them and after a final battle towards the end of 2008, where the two groups fought side by side to protect their home from invading zombies, it all ended. Both LCD and CDF became historical groups in the history of UD and the journey came to an end. After traveling for some time but feeling restless Cortonna (ex-LCD leader) spoke to Zod Rhombus (ex-CDF leader) in the hopes of establishing a new group together comprising of what was left of ex-CDF and LCD troops. He agreed and the two started brainstorming plans on how to reestablish the new group. Thus Soldiers of Crossman was born, inviting all ex-LCD and CDF surviving soldiers to join us so that we can together continue the fight. Searching for what's left of both groups and new blood joining our ranks, the group's journey begins now.

Active Structure

LEADERSHIP: Dictatorial Democratics:

  • Single operative has command of the SoC.
  • Tactical command is delegated to next in hierarcy ladder during extended missions.
  • Every member has right of voice when discussing plan.

Platoon Leader - Cortonna
  • Commands SoC, sees the bigger picture, oversees plans, operations and diplomacy.

Lieutenants - Zod Rhombus, Bromhead
  • 2nd in command of the group, tactical advisors, plan operations. If the Platoon Leader is down or unable to do his/her duty for some reason, they act as tribunal and take decisions for group.

Commissar - Frank Burn
  • Out of the main hierarchy, oversees propaganda around the suburb, may be acting regardless of other orders issued to the group in an effort to spread the word and keep the radiowaves alive with the sound of OUR music, recruits, sprays the good word and does whatever it takes to get some more people with the SoC. Oversees the relationship and the connection between SoC and it's allies.

As our numbers raise newer positions will be included to better our order and structure.

Operations

- Northern Watch -
With the fall of LCD and CDF, it's remaining members organized and formed SoC in the north-east part of Darvall Heights. The suburb was ruined, dark and devoid of life, full with feral zombies ready to slaughter anyone they managed to find. The immediate priority was to find anyone alive, assist them and persuade them to join the cause. Unity and brotherhood was needed. This search brought to the current SoC roster and sparkled a new hope. With fresh reinforcements and supplies from Shuttlebank the troops gathered in the north-east part of the hood - the Goodson Motel and the Dustan Towers. From there on every building in the vicinity was barricaded and guerrilla tactics were employed due to the number of zombies around. After weeks of endless fighting, numerous sieges and take-over of buildings SoC has retaken and powered up most of the neighborhood. The battle for Darvall Heights continues.
- Saving Private Rev -
Our fellow brother Rev went into St. Pius's Hospital to help and rescue a trapped civilian woman. With the charnel smell that filled the hospital, it was clear that only zombies roamed this deserted place. Upon finding her location, a gruesome battle ensued, which resulted in the successful rescue of the woman. Unfortunately for Rev on the way back a wall collapsed right next to him breaking his leg in the chaos that followed. Slowly making his way to the roof of the hospital his radio transmission was picked up by Nervous Harold who organized the operation. SoC shock troops quickly organized, prepared essential supplies and moved in on his position. Meeting relatively low resistance, they quickly found their teammate. After damage assessment was done by the SoC medic it was deemed that Rev would have to stay immobile for 5 days or his leg would be untreatable in the present infested and quarantined conditions, making his chances for survival equal to zero. SoC troops quickly made a camp on the roof, setting up defenses determined to stay and hold for the 5 days necessary for their teammate to be carried and moved to a safe location. The operation quickly gathered zombie attention and soon almost every single zombie in the hood gathered outside the hospital. The unprecedented numbers surprised SoC defenses but everyone stayed firm and 4 days passed. It was deemed necessary that if the fifth night was to be survived local support would be needed as well as fresh SoC reinforcements. As the battle on the fifth night started few survivors showed up to help boost the defenses. With barricades broken and zombies quickly coming in SoC shock troops found themselves outnumbered, out of ammo, out of luck. But not out of dedication nor tenacity. Rev died the best death an SoC can die - death in combat, death amongst brothers. Inspired by the private's actions the SoC shock team went out in a blaze of glory staying until the end. For we SoC stand together, through victory or defeat, never leaving anyone behind.
In the words of Lieutenant Bromhead whilst fighting:
- To mangle a famous Shakespeare quote...
"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in Malton now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon this gallant day"

What do we Look for

Back in the old days it was pride to be an LCD or CDF, and now we are proud to be the Soldiers of Crossman. Moreover it wasn't just the pride, but it was the friendship and brotherhood that we developed with each other. The knowledge that you always have someone to watch your back, that no matter what the odds, we all stand together win or lose. As such we mainly don't look for the level or experience but for:

  • Dedication.
  • Loyalty.
  • Brotherhood or standing together no matter what the odds.

If you feel you possess those qualities, then you are more then welcomed to join us. Prospective members - please contact us on our forum or one of us in game, sign your name and profile like everyone else on the end of this page and register to our forum (if you haven't already done so in the process of contacting us). Thank you.

Mottoes

  • SoC - a bond that will transcend time and moreover life and death.
  • SoC - Today, Tommorow, Forever.
  • SoC - Honour and Duty.
  • SoC - Dedication and Tenacity.

Template

  • We now have a sweet template, thanks to our old friend and an ex-LCD Duke Garland. You can always show your dedication by putting it in your wiki profile and let everyone know you are a SoC. Just copy/paste {{SoC|Insertname}} in your profile and replace 'Insertname' with your name and that's it. The result would be

Current Goals

  • Establish strong presence in Darvall Heights.
  • Get the neighborhood running again and buildings back to the designated barricade plan found in Darvall Heights.
  • Spread our word around the neighborhood and gain new soldiers to fight the good fight.
  • Once those are met, we will move on to assist North-West as a whole and other places/or survivors in need.

Vision

What do SoC represents one might ask? The way I see it, the vision I head in mind, when making this group could be described with one word - brotherhood. Too often we find ourselves alone, scattered, disillusioned and last but not least surrounded by danger. Often as not you can't even trust survivors like you and I. What I envisioned was a bond - friendship and trust, trust that you will never find yourself left behind or alone when in need. To know that no matter how fierce the enemy is, you fight together with your brothers and sisters until the end, victory or not. No matter what the odds, no matter what it costs. With respect towards the enemy, honour and duty. All of us lost people, who we cared for and SoC represents family, our bond being our testament. I wish for myself and for everyone else to fight with cold determination and sheer tenacity. Having that I believe, will allow us to restore Darvall Heights and North-West back to the survivor haven it used to be and later to assist everyone else in Malton.

Revive Point

  • As always Nurten Avenue (right next to Crossman PD, 1 south) will be our designated revive point.

Radio Frequency

  • The designated radio frequency for SoC is 26.43 MHz, tune to this channel and feel free to keep us entertained with music of your preferred choice, jokes or whatever you feel to share with us. On missions, it's an absolute must to have a radio so you can be updated just in case. Scouts are free to broadcast intel on areas, or whatever information they've uncovered. Keep the chatter alive and please end your broadcast with -'your name' (-Cortonna for example).
