The People's Liberation of East Becktown (PLEB) is a survivor group that concerns itself with the defence of the Greater Becktown Area. PLEB works with other survivor groups within the Greater Becktown area to help provide a safe haven for all living residents.
- written on a wall inside Moseley Library, East Becktown
The People's Liberation of East Becktown promotes survivor coordination and tactics, including Barricade Defense Plans and Zombie Weather Reports. Despite their active coordination and technology, the People's Liberation of East Becktown differs from many groups in that they have no hierarchy, official positions, or leadership. All members undertake any role they desire, and the underlying philosophy of PLEB is that each member's voice carries equal weight. Though this gives the members more freedom, it can make the group less efficient in its efforts, and adds to the time required for making decisions. Communication with other groups is somewhat harder as there is no key figure or spokesman.
PLEB is currently involved in Operation: Dodgeball. PLEB members participated in the defences of Caiger Mall and Ackland Mall. Many members of PLEB have also been honored by the enmity of Ars Requiem, Zombie Inc., Church of the Resurrection, and the Z-Team.
Recruitment
If you wish to join us, please email us at PLEB-owner@yahoogroups.com. Please include a link to your character ID or we cannot consider you. No zombies, or survivors in possession of combat zombie skills, are admitted into People's Liberation of East Becktown. Survivors with limited non-combat zombie skills (such as Ankle Grab) will be considered for membership, so please ask. You will also have to tag up.
Aims & Objectives
- Maintaining barricades throughout the suburb, in accordance with our barricade policy. All of the buildings in East Becktown (except Pikes Towers) should be at least Very Strongly barricaded (VS+2).
- Providing back-up, healing and revivification for all Becktowners.
PLEASE SEE OUR REVIVES SECTION FOR INFORMATION REGARDING REVIVES AT THIS TIME |
- Clearing all zombies from the buildings (and streets) of Greater Becktown.
- Reducing anti-survivor activity within Greater Becktown. PKers, zergers, and Zombie spies are not tolerated by PLEB. While shotgunning everyone resting in a building is technically allowed by Urban Dead, it's outside of the "zombie versus human" game most people signed up to play and borders on griefing.
PLEB supports the PK Reporting List, the Zerg Liste, and the Rogue's Gallery and abides by their rulings. PLEB recommends all Becktowners familiarize themselves with these lists' policies.
- Keeping members informed of breaking news.
Zombie Activity
PLEASE NOTE: Shacknews still has a presence within East Becktown. After consulting with other survivor groups in the area, we are recommending survivors in the area use caution while resting and only revive zombies registered on the DEM Revive Site. Anyone looking to take a more active part in the current zombie invasion is more than welcome to contact us at PLEB-owner@yahoogroups.com
Zombie Sightings
PLEASE NOTE
Shacknews has been spotted within East Becktown. After consulting with other Survivor groups in the area, we are recommending any Survivors in the area rest and restock in your nearest mall, and only revive zombies registered on The DEM Revive Site. Anyone looking to take a more active part in the current zombie invasion is more than welcome to contact us at pleb-owner@yahoogroups.com
This is where anyone may report sightings that are newer than those listed on the weather report above.
Reports should be listed in order of time, and then number of zombies, rather than in the ordered encountered.
Within Greater Becktown Until http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Template:Weather_Report_for_East_Becktown is back online, please list any zombie sightings here
If you aren't familiar with the code, or don't have time, feel free to add them below:
- Location Name [XX, YY] -- ? zombies -- Signature/Timestamp
In the vicinity of Greater Becktown
NB. The following locations are outside of Becktown, but may still be useful for citizens and PLEB members to watch.
Corpses
The following locations should be kept under observation due to the amount of bodies in the immediate location. (For example, during the St Elisabeth's assault in mid-December 2005, 90 dead bodies at Dinmead characterized a force large enough to repeatedly breach barricades and cause interior damage to NecroTech and Hospital. 40 dead bodies characterized a more diffuse force whose attack waves yielded no known human casualties behind the 'cades.)

Barricade Plan
PLEB hold to a Barricade Plan of East Becktown which they attempt to enforce and encourage all residents to follow. This eventually grew into the Uniform Barricade Plan.
Uniform Barricading Policy Supporter | |
This User or Group supports the Uniform Barricading Policy by actively maintaining barricades according to local plan or UBP standard. |
Survivors in the area should note the following deviations from the Uniform Barricade Plan:
- the Daubeney Building [26,35] will be kept at Extremely Heavily Barricaded at all times. Survivors should not expect to be able to gain access to this building from the street.
- The Berkeley Museum [28,38] and Club Bragge [22,34] have been designated Free Running Entrances and should be kept barricaded at no higher than VS+2
Revives
PLEASE NOTE: Any Survivor in the East or West Becktown area in need of a revive, please e-mail us with your Urban Dead ID and your location. Due to a larger-than-usual undead Survivor population, lines at revive points are longer than normal and some characters are timing out. E-mail us so we can ensure you receive a revive and can let you know the status of your revive request. |
PLEB has designated Dinmead Lane [27,35] as a revive point for deceased survivors. Our scientists will revive fallen survivors who are registered on The DEM Revive Site; zombies at Dinmead Lane who are not registered will be assumed fair game for any zombie hunters. Again, we are asking survivors interested in a revive to contact us directly until further notice.
Due to the increased cost of syringes and the prevalence of brain rotters and death cultists, survivors in need of revival are always strongly urged to post their profile ID to a sanctioned revive tool (PLEB is currently using http://tinyurl.com/jxkdg ). While PLEB urges its members not to attack zombies standing at Dinmead Lane, PLEB does not guarantee any zombie's safety inside Greater Becktown.
"I don't want to be a PLEB..."
...but I want to help. What can I do?
There are several things that a civic-minded survivor can do to help keep East and West Becktown a safe place for all good and free people. You don't have to be a PLEB member. You don't even have to want to be a PLEB member, though of course we welcome those who wish to join our disorganisation.
- If you see any barricades which are below the required amount, according to the barricade plan, feel free to top them up. Please don't overbarricade the designated VS points, though.
- Heal your neighbours. It's worth XP and you're preventing infection.
- Kill any zombies you see in the suburb. Kill them. Then kill them again. They may get the hint eventually.
- Report any zombie activity you see in Becktown, here. The more up-to-date our info is, the easier it is for other citizens to hunt down the deaders and encourage them to leave.
- Report on quadrant activity on the Zombie Tracker, for this suburb or any other one, especially neighbouring ones.
- Don't get caught outside if you can possibly help it. It is dangerous for you and it attracts Zed-Heads.
- DON'T rest overnight in a VS resource building if you have the Free Running skill. For the sake of a couple of AP - to move into an adjoining Extremely Heavily barricaded building - you are putting the lives of the weaker survivors at risk by presenting the building as an irresistible target. Lots of people behind a single VS barricade is just asking for zombies to attack - be nice to newbies, and help yourselves stay safe!
Enemies and Traitors
These characters have actively attacked and either killed or attempted to kill PLEB members. They should dealt with with extreme caution as their PK activities may not be limited to attacks against PLEB.

Group Activity within East Becktown
Notes on the activities within East Becktown of other groups, which are particularly of interest to PLEB members, and to local citizens.
- 12th June 2006: An update on Malton Fire Department (MFD) operations within East Becktown. Within the last couple of months the MFD have been been rebuilding their presence and are now fully committed with PLEB in protecting survivors in the area.
Current MFD members operating in East Becktown: Cpt. [Cobalt-60] coordinating MFD efforts in the suburb. Lt. [Soph] in charge of Mitchell Drive fire station. Lt. [Vince Rhymes] in charge of Kirkwood Lane fire station. Firefighter [Pvt Thoughts] acting as roving support. If you see us at work be sure to give us a hand! --Soph 07:35, 12 June 2006 (BST)
- 26th February 2006: Having failed to defeat PLEB, Some Ars Requiem members are now listing their group affliation as PLEB. It almost makes you sad for them. Even one of their main members, John Ember, is embarrassed to be called an Ars. Do you blame him? Instead, he lists his group as Fryerbank Irregulars.
- February 2006: Congratulations to PLEB member Au Jus - he got a mention in Ars Requiem's accomplishments section. When a whole zombie group cites the killing of one PLEB as an accomplishment, you know you have done well.
- January 2006: Heads up, Zombie Inc is amassing just over the border in Richmond Hills. Evidence includes signage and zombies sieging a Necrotech building starting a couple of days ago. If you're in a hunting mood, there's a bunch of rotters. --Drummer boy 12:20, 17 Jan 2006 (GMT)
- December - January, 05-06 : Chi Vai Hunters were seen assembling on the Barbara General Hospital, all in the name of searching for Chi Vais. Side activities includes healing, patroling and killing zombies in numerous fashions. The group had brief clashes with members of the CotR. --ToRsO bOy 04 Jan 2006 2:53 AM (GMT)
- 22nd December, 2005: Cpt. [Nathan Reeves] was assigned to serve in East Becktown by order of Malton Fire Department. --Takto 9:08 22 Dec 2005 (GMT)
- 24th October, 2005 : Malton Fire Department (MFD), a group covering the whole city, but consisting of 7 or more members, hoists its flag over Mitchell Drive Fire Station. Currently only one active Firefighter reporting to MFD, [Alex DeWitt], is known to be active in the area. DeWitt contacted a PLEB representative (PLEB-owner@yahoogroups.com) apon arriving in East Becktown, to let the PLEB know of his intentions to establish Mitchell Drive Fire Station as the HQ for this Fire District, expressed admiration for the PLEB's efforts, and offered whatever assistance he could provide. --Gilant 15:34, 24 Oct 2005 (BST)
