Suggestion description
The Military has decided to help Suriviors escape the terrible place we know of today as Malton. However, they are also worried of getting themselves stuck in fighting the zombie hordes and dying horribly. Hence, they decide a small-scale evacuation will suffice...

Here is how it works. The Military will alert Suriviors that they have desginated a Very Important Tactical Building where it will do the evacuation on a certain date. This Building may be anything that serves as a tactical use and can be defended. Forts, Police Stations, Fire Stations, Schools, even Malls. It does not matter what building it is though...not that much...

The fact is, once word get out of where the latest Evacuation is going to be, suriviors will rush there in order to escape. So will zombies. A seige will occur over this important place...

When the Certain Date occurs, a Helicopter will arrive to that Very Important Tactical Building. If the Building is Ransacked, the Helicopter turns away, and all Zombies inside of the Ransacked Building receives a "Badge of Honor" skill (and hence a new level) for stopping the Evacuation. If the building is not ransacked, then all Suriviors within the Building has escaped! They also get a "Badge of Honor" skill for evacuating, but they have not really left the city. It is just assumed that they all respawn as characters with the same skills as before.

Example: A horde of zombies, along with ShadowScope the Zombie, storm into Caiger Mall (again) and ransacked it (again) to stop the Evacuation. Once that happens, ShadowScope will have a new "Badge of Honor" skill to brag around with:

  • Caiger Mall Evacuation-You stopped the Suriviors from fleeing Malton via Caiger Mall.

Overall, this adds a small bit of fun to the game. You can ignore it if you so desire, but for most people, why not?

Keep Votes

  1. Keep/Change That sounds really cool except why would they just respawn? I think it would be funner if the helicopter crashs along with everybody else in a random location? Also there could be special weapons and supplies after it crashs. ChuteAlex
  2. Keep/Change Sounds like a winner! Nice little ingame activity! Instead of a "skill" how about a new section in profiles? Secruss 02:41, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep Sounds cool - people can choose to ignore the messages and just play as normal or take up a new challenge. It'd also make part of the population more mobile, changing the balance in hwatever suburb they ended up in. As per Secruss though - I'm not sure about having a new 'skill' added Sanpedro 02:46, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep - That's very left-field and I'm sure it will attract some serious kill votes, but I would be up for it. --The Hierophant 03:44, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  5. Keep - You say new skill, but nothing of it is mentioned. I take it the 'new skill' is the badge of honor? no effect but to increase one's prestige? I'm all for that. and the idea of keeping the population mobile is very appealing. -Gateking 04:46, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  6. Keep- Reminds me of the storyline suggestion i read in the peer reviewed section. I liked that (and hope Kev can do it) and I like this one--Dragon fang 04:49, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  7. Keep - yay for the grand in-game events... --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 08:45, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  8. Keep - Yay for evacuation helicopters!--Seventythree 11:55, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  9. keep(ish) I like it apart from the respawn part! Can we not have this as a supply drop instead, with everyone present gettting an appropriate boost? Mil types get a medal for bravery, science types get a medal for service to humanity while civilians get drafted and sent back in :) In evrycase the survivors should get a free FAK or something as part of the supply run! Zeds still get their badge of honour (and probably a free meal) --Honestmistake 12:16, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  10. Keep Sounds original and it will ad a new twist to the game.I like it.Although could you explain to me hwre teh characters respawn it sounds very confusing to me.--Timo 1 13:26, 24 July 2007 (BST)
See's swiers RE. Basically, they are said to "respawn" but it is only there to justify characters not being removed from the game. The only thing they get is that "badge of honor" skill.--ShadowScope 20:55, 24 July 2007 (BST)
Change - Make the zombies respawn in different places too and this would be great. No need for the zombies to have a better after-battle advantage.
Did not sign, and also it seems that survivors do not actually re-spawn- I think that is only there to justify characters not being removed from game, and they "respawn" in the same location where they currently are. . . . swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png
  11. Keep - Except it doesn't need to be a new skill, it's unnecessary. Just something in the profile --Ju Ju Master 03:33, 25 July 2007 (BST)
  12. keep - Well, people could be dropped off at the nearest Fort or NT. Zombies could ransack the helicopter and get extra xp-Doc Crook 03:40, 25 July 2007 (BST)
  13. keep - Not bad, I like the idea of small, in-game events. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 07:27, 25 July 2007 (BST)
  14. keep/minor change - (I've just signed up, so sorry if i'm not following proper format) - But it seems like the main problem is with the people coming back, and, would it be possible to just have the military lie? Be like, "We'll pick you up on August 3rd, at 10pm" and then have no one show up, and have the citizens create their own "badge", to prove that they've endured it? Just a thought. other than that, i like the idea about corralling people around the map, gets people moving. Roofiez 13:22, 25 July 2007 (BST)
  15. Keep - I like the idea of something other than just territory to fight for, and to a time schedule ,although I suspect that the zombies would win every time, if given enough notice -- boxy T Nuts block it! DA 13:59, 25 July 2007 (BST)
  16. Keep - I wish I could pick 'leave the city' though.....--Perne 12:33, 26 July 2007 (BST)
  17. Keep - Could use some tweaks, but it sounds like a good idea overall. It would add some more excitement to the game. --Pdeq 01:37, 29 July 2007 (BST)
  18. Keep - seems nice for a "once every so many months thingy". I'd participate.-- Vista  +1  22:15, 30 July 2007 (BST)
  19. Keep I like the idea. --DrBowman 18:38, 1 August 2007 (BST)
  20. Keep take out the skill and make it a count. --Coco1993 19:45, 1 August 2007 (BST)
  21. Keep I like the idea! BRILLIANT!--Savant 11:33, 7 August 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Change - If you leave, you never come back. --Midianian 11:04, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill I'm liking it except for the free skill / bonus level part. Just award the "winners" a special item of clothing or some such- one that can't be damaged, but could be dropped if you so wished. For survivors, these could be ID tags given out as "promisary evacuation notes" by the crew of the massively over-crowded chopper. For zombies, these could be nifty bits of gore that got stuck to them in the carnage.
I also have the flavor problem that, if the military wanted to, they could easily land choppers and evacuate people without all this mess; its pretty easy to spot a safe landing spot in Malton. But the problem is, every person in Malton is able to become a zombie when they die. Would you evacuate one of those people? I sure as hell would not. So again, the "promisary note" idea makes sense; it may even be a lie, but its a morale booster. And it doesn't require landing the chopper; they could throw them to the crowds.
Though honestly, this more seems like the kind of stung a media chopper would pull, than the military! . . . swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png 15:28, 24 July 2007 (BST)
Hm, that does seem to compose most of the opposition to the suggestion, that free skill thingy. The reason I suggest the free skill thing is that it seems to be the easiest way Kevan can implement this, but whatever Kevan desires, via throwing out free clothing, so be it. And, prehaps for flavour reasons, maybe the Military is not really escorting people to a safe place, but rather taking them out to be shot, prehaps as a way to lure "future zombies" out of their defenses without wasting too much firepower.--ShadowScope 20:55, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - It is an interesting idea, but it needs some more work IMHO. As well, Swiers raises several good points, and discussion like this probably would have been generated in the Suggestion Development area. If this passes, it passes... but you could improve this suggestion further by opening it up to discussion --Ryiis 21:30, 24 July 2007 (BST)
That was the first place where it was. Other than swiers, there was not much real discussion on the issue.--ShadowScope 21:41, 24 July 2007 (BST)
  4. It's not the skill that bothers me so much, but the poor thought going into the problem of "what happens when they evacuate?". I find it extremely ridiculous that someone with the exact same name, skills, appearance, and clothing somehow showed up in the city less than a day after their evacuation. That sounds far too much like the "headshot kills them meaning they respawn in a cemetery" problem back when people really wanted Headshot fixed. Kalir FTW! Z/S UD Potato Words 03:39, 25 July 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill I agree wtih Swiers. It's a decent idea, but evacuation just doesn't fit in Malton. --Nikitis 22:24, 25 July 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill/Change - Meh, not sure where to put this, because it's sort of not really a keep vote but it sort of is. Basically, I like the general idea of an in-game event (like the helicopters) that encourages characters of both types to swarm to an area for a resultant perk (if only a little note in someone's profile) if certain success conditions are met; those would be awesome, and I bet they'd give very high-leveled characters more of a reason to play, presenting a new kind of challenge. BUT...the idea of them being staged evacuation attempts by the military just doesn't work. Make it some other kind of event, and this would be awesome. --Animi 23:06, 2 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill The City is under quarentine. you do not access or evacuate a quarenteed area unless the threat or infection has been completely eliminated. Increase the regularity of ingame events/supply drops, if anything. Leaveing the city is impossible and defeats the game. If you want your character out of the city then don't log in and let them go inactive. --Jack1312:30pm, 3 August, 2007.
  8. Read Swier's vote. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 05:11, 7 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Change - Swiers got most the gist of what's not quite right with this suggestion. I'm not against the concept, I just don't prefer it in this form. 'arm. 03:22, 8 August 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Super Soldiers! - I know the skill does nothing but there are multiple issues. The biggest being it would be extremely easy for survivors and hard for zombies, 'cause, let's face it, zombies aren't going to drop everything to rush to a largely unimportant point and attack it. And if they do and manage to take hold of it a survivor force a fraction of the zombies size can wait until as little as a few hours before the end time then rush in and clear the building, they might not even have to waste the AP to dump the bodies. Oh and it is useless and depends on lots of coordination to do something useless or make something useless desirable. The problems if you expect people to care about getting a skill that does nothing, which after the first x times they participate or get the skill it becomes just as boring as everything else if not more so because less people are participating or caring.--Karekmaps?! 04:44, 25 July 2007 (BST)
