20071002 Gift Giving (Xmas Special)

Suggestion type
improvement

Suggestion scope
Humans.

Suggestion description
Well the season (xmas) is going to roll in sooner or later, and I'm aware that trading is considered bad in the UD game, and I'm inclined to agree. But how about if we're allowed to give people Misc. Items that aren't considered as useful, mainly as a form of gratitude, things such as:

A.beer/wine (1 point hp isn't that big of a deal, also it'd be a reduced form of FAK's)
B.Books/poetry (though the xp might be a bit of a problem, maybe the chance of gaining is null).
C.Decorative items(They have no real purpose besides decoration so why not give it to friends as well).

Or D. Crucifixes (which I don't really recommend but just have it in there as a thought, maybe a "what the heck am I supposed to do with this" kinda deal)

To stop people from making you too heavy, you'll either have the option of accepting the gift (maybe from a check box that says "accept all gifts" removing it would reject all gifts), OR players may not give the other person gifts if its over a certain percent, chosen by the player, if not possible maybe a preset percentage like 85%.

I suggest that we insert this idea sometime over the December month, maybe implement it longer, who knows. Also we should find some action for the zombies to give as a form of gratitude... i don't know, i don't want them feeling left out.

Keep Votes

  1. Weak Keep Mehhhhh. I like it enough for a keep, but getting useless crap is pretty pointless.--Wooty 01:16, 2 October 2007 (BST)
RE yea like fruitcake for the holidays? Or getting that one gift card to the store that you never shop at? mainly I wanna run beer runs for my friends so we can drink it up at the arms. Along with other reasons--Someguy5031 06:57, 2 October 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep - cause I can't think of a reason to kill other then it sets a bad precedent.--Karekmaps?! 01:26, 2 October 2007 (BST)

  6. Keep - Sure, why not. --Sonofagun18 06:03, 2 October 2007 (BST)
  7. Keep -Author Keep- I really wish I had been more specific on it, but i can't edit it without completely voiding the suggestion so for the mean time just ignore the use of the word "maybe", and my idea would've probably been 1 ap to give items and 0 to receive for it for it. other suggestions I can't say unless I make a v2.Someguy5031 06:57, 2 October 2007 (BST)
  8. Weak Keep No reason not to since the items are useless.Studoku 08:59, 2 October 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Weak Kill - I would be inclined to vote keep if the suggestion were fully described. For example; how many AP (if any) would it cost to 'give' a gift? How many AP to accept (if any)? I would also like to see the option to 'accept gift, but automatically drop from inventory' - that way you could be polite without loading up on useless items. --Shazzelim 04:19, 2 October 2007 (BST)
  2. Weak Kill - As Shazzelim. -- John RubinT! ZG FER 07:17, 2 October 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - Incomplete, as Shazzelim. --Pavluk A! E! 09:05, 2 October 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - Incomplete, and not in the mood of a zombie game. --Abi79 AB 14:18, 2 October 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - Any item exchange/transfer leads to farming, which isn't cool. --Pgunn 14:29, 2 October 2007 (BST)
RE your right, someone might use their other 2 characters to fill up 80% encumbrance worth of crucifixes and distribute it to a single player, so they can start a church, or spread the word. or what if someone goes and starts a bar! or a library! cause God knows everyone will be wasting all their ap trying to run organizations instead of zombie hunting! what will we do then!...sorry just bringing up a point. I appreciate your concern though.--Someguy5031 19:40, 2 October 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill/Change -- As Shazzelim--MrCoolantSpray 14:31, 2 October 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - That's a negatory. I don't think this is something UD needs at all. --Ryiis 14:53, 2 October 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - The details that Shazzelim suggested would be helpful. --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 16:53, 2 October 2007 (BST)
