20071109 Fresh Corpse

Suggestion

Timestamp: Dr piachdi 19:20, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Type: Temporary bonus skill
Scope: New zombie characters
Description: New characters who start as zombies are granted the Lurching Gait skill until they have performed their first 150 actions. Afterwards, the extra skill is revoked and must be purchased using XP in the normal way. If a player is able to purchase Lurching Gait before performing their first 150 actions it will not be revoked. Characters starting as living survivors and dying for the first time are not granted the extra skill.

The following text would be added to the first screen of characters starting off as zombies:

"Having died a relatively peaceful death your body is still somewhat intact. For now you can walk naturally but soon injuries and rot will begin to slow you down."

After performing their 150th action, the extra skill is revoked and the following text is displayed:

"You have been dead for several days now and decay is taking its toll on what remains of your body. You can now longer stop your feet from dragging clumsily along the ground."

This is intended to help new zombie characters find a horde, earn XP towards their first skill purchase, and encourage more people to play as zombies.

Discussion (Fresh Corpse)

Edited to try to de-spamify by using correct template.

Edited to change "used their first 150 AP" to "performed their first 150 actions" as suggested.

Keep Votes

  1. Change - to 150 actions, instead of AP. Headshotting a newbie zombie strips the poor guy of 15ap, and they happen a lot. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 18:39, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

  7. Change - As da Hagsta. This is potentially abusable by zergs, in the same way that having survivors is abusable by PKers. BoboTalkClown 21:25, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
