20080121 Children's Karaoke Machine

Magnum Odus 23:32, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Recruitment tool, recruitment improvement.

Suggestion scope
All people, found in tech stores.

Suggestion description
For five AP, the player can record a message to his Children's Karaoke Player. At an additional 2AP per movement, the karaoke will replay the loud message at such volume that everyone within a three block radius can hear. This can be used by both zombies and humans, although the zombie recordings are more likely to be garbled. It would cost 0 AP to turn off the recording. It would be a good tool for recruitment and propaganda in areas without power, as well as a means to recruit new players without resorting to meta-gaming. The recording would be accompanied by a randomly selected backing track ranging from Country and The Blues, to Hip Hop and Rave. I believe it would be impossible to abuse this item, it would provide entertaining uses that a radio cannot, and it would prove difficult to repeatedly reset the messages. Also, if too many were in the same area, feedback would cause them to not work. This would reduce the threat of spam.

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - a zombie using a karoke machine? That sounds a bit silly. In fact, this whole thing feels too silly. --PdeqTalk* 23:46, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
  2. Strong Kill - You here a person say "JOIN THE MALTON MARSHALS" along with some rave music in the background. (unce unce unce unce OW!) just plain silly... good night... --/~Rakuen~\ 00:21, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  3. Kill - no.--CorndogheroT-S-Z 00:51, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  4. Kill - It would be nigh impossible NOT to have rampant abuse of this item. Anyhow, the peer reviewed bullhorn does the same basic thing more logically, and with less sillyness and probably less spam. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 02:33, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  5. Kill - Current radio system is better in every regard.  Billy Club Thorton  T!  RR  04:01, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - we don't want to hear your propaganda announcements -- boxy talki 23:56 21 January 2008 (BST)
The same could be said about any number of things in the game.Magnum Odus 00:12, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Radio is the only thing similar, and yeah, it's a waste of bandwidth too! This is just what we need, Real Gamer getting himself a karaoke machine and inflicting his crap on people who choose not to listen to radios because of their low signal to noise ratio -- boxy talki 02:38 22 January 2008 (BST)
  2. Spam - Mall radios are bad enough, lets not add more spam .--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 00:14, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  3. Spam - We don't want more spam. At least we can tune out radio spam. --Themanwhocares4 00:24, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  4. Spam - Where do I even start with this one? How about the part where you claim this couldn't possibly be abused by anyone. Let's face it, this would be annoying as F***! --Uncle Bill 01:02, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Just think of the tension it would create in a seige, though. And I've said that more than one would result in them canceling each other out. Magnum Odus 01:42, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  5. Spam - Not sure if this is a joke or not, but inclined to think it is. --Pgunn 01:52, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  6. Spam - While this made me giggle, no. Out of flavor and spammy. --Druuuuu OcTRR 01:59, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  7. Spam -Isn't that what radios are for?--Pesatyel 05:12, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  8. Spam - You're kidding right? The games descended to the point where karaoke sounds reasonable? - Bisfan 06:27, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  9. Spam - This is a joke, right... --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 06:29, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
