Thing to do in Buttonville - Remove?
I would like to remove the new section "Things to do in Buttonville." It is nearly all tautological -- it says nothing unique to Buttonville wasting the readers' time. The only Buttonville unique item is a reference to the mall, but it refers to the wrong mall.
I reproduce it here for ease of discussion. --ZaqWer 16:32, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- While on the subject of trimming fat, could some of the other stuff get moved down or cut out? It's a bit hard to find the recent news amongst all the clutter. --Shatari 04:07, 23 June 2010 (BST)

Generally, Buttonville is the Suburb of peace & reiki. Do some Yoga, turn off your radio to those annoying noobs, sit back and relax! There is much to do my friends! Much wine to drink, much fun to be had, much drunken nights of RP to be had. Visit the Clubs, embrace the culture!
•Visit the Western Half of Marven Mall, stock up on all your Survivor needs and kick back. •Kill some Zombies! They get back up anyways, so why not get some XP for harassment? I'm sure they love dying every time they stand up. •Kill some Humans! We appreciate all the idiots learn from their mistakes early by dying in the streets. •Attend diligently to your Malton Communication studies. Learn some kizombie. •Be a dick and spam the radio stations! And then die! •Attend our famous clubs for pleasure. The old staffs are all dead, so new ones are needed & appreciated. Buttonville makes the best wine! Taste it! •Roam the streets freely, say high to your fellow Buttvillies. |
- Naw. Just move it to the bottom. Useless it may be, however it adds some comic relief (as much one may not appreciate it) to the seriousness of the page and adds some culture (by use of humor and noting of the whole wine shenanigan) to the Suburb. That not only makes the suburb attractive to survivors but also makes it more of a home.
- In all Roleplaying, or anything else that should confirm a set of traits in a person, that is concerned, just the mention that Buttonville is my home makes it known to people I'm a wine-drinker with taste and class. Weird but true. Had that happen at least four times.--Officer Mead Sheaffer 10:30, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Resident Groups
Are the groups Army Control Corps and Malton Transhumanists still in Buttonville? I have not seen any members in the area, and their respective wiki articles give no indication that they may be here, but it's possible I might just be looking in the wrong places, or checking the wrong profiles. Being a polite sort of chap, I thought I ought to ask before cleaning up the infobox. Any news? - Krae 17:36, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Transhumanists removed, along with several others (most of whom were one-member groups to begin with). Now I'm wondering about RAZI - one of the Randoms mentioned he thinks he saw one of their members in Buckley Mall, but I have no idea if they're still around (or if there's more than just him, for that matter). Please advise. - Krae 01:01, 29 May 2008 (BST)
Zombie spies?
A zombie was overheard clumsily attempting to speak in the Ranson Bvd PD today: "Zambah zbahz?? Naaah...!z gambah rabahbz, zah magg zambahz GRA!ZAH! Zah zambahz zmazh an ranzagg barragahz... Nah gambah rahbab, nah gra!zah zambahz!"
A self-proclaimed "expert zombie linguist" found scavanging from a dumpster behind Buckley Mall -- and thus availble for dirt cheap freelance rates -- offered this loose translation: "Zombie spies? Naaah... it's combat revives, they make zombies CRAZY! So the zombies smash and ransack (sic) the barricades. No combat revive, no crazy zombies."
Make what you will of this enigmatic, perhaps self-contadictory, statement. --WanYao 08:00, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Seriously, peepz ... Unless you like always having to replace generators and radios, Combat Reviving hostile zombies with lots of harman skillz is not smart... Especially CR-ing in the frelling street, outside, of all places! And this is what you get for combat reviving dedicated zombies: smashed generators... or worse... I could have PKed while alive, or torn down barricades, but I do not do the former, and rarely the latter. I guess it is your choice whether the trade offs for the 100% to-hit, 10 AP attack are worth it... but if you practice or tolerate CR-ing, please don't complain about zombie spies or "vandals" -- because 95% of the time it is a totally survivor-created problem. --WanYao 12:41, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Deletions
I deleted argumentative sections from 14 Nov. There were inappropriate and certainly not NPOV. I updated/replaced with witnessed current events.--Ram Charger 14:28, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Since I probably made those deletions -- news Nazi that I am ;) ... Just saying thanks for understanding the whole NPOV thing. However, I am a little confused.... BB2 is currently in Kinch Heights, not Buttonville, and is certainly not done there. Usually there is what I call spillover into neighboring suburbs... but the bulk of the Bash *is* currently in Kinch.... Which buildings or zones were hit, may I ask? --WanYao 14:58, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. That guy was mean. But. Ranson Fell last night and I died during the battle. This is bad news, as it is Buttonville's only supply for ammo besides Buckely Mall. So yeah. _ George Bulst
- I am sorry if you think I was "mean"... But I go through a lot of news and I have seen many, many of VERY bad violations of the NPOV thing lately. And, combined with the net effect of that getting to you, I have found that if I am not fairly strong in my wording of WHY I am deleting the news, ironically, people actually get MORE pissed with me and start edit wars, etc. The whole point is to make the news a place that provides all players -survivors, zombies, PKers alike -- with relevant information, and which is not biased towards any side... including not allowing the news to be abused as a forum for tactical organisation or propaganda. Even if that means making "unpopular" edits sometimes, the goal is to enhance accessability and enjoyment for everyone. --WanYao 16:57, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
Erm... I see what was going on, I did not look at the main page before now. George Bulst, you were out of line. On so many levels. And although I am sorely tempted, I will not even touch your bullshit comments on international politics... Though you were responding to other BS comments, yourself.... whatever... Just remember something: the history records all changes... just because it is deleted does not mean people can't read what you edited. But... yes... let us now get back to playing the game... And editing the wiki PROPERLY... Cool? --WanYao 18:07, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Then I apologize. Now we can go to forgetting this by tomorrow. - George Bulst
- No problem, man... I know it is hard to just ignore some stuff... but if one doesn't, the results are, well, ugly. And quite pointless, really. Cheers! And... try to help out by slowing the horde down in W Grayside, if you can, they are on their way there... --WanYao 16:48, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

MOB alert
| MOB Alert |
The Militant Order of Barhah have ransacked a nearby suburb-Kinch Heights. Locals should be advised that the MOB may attack their suburb at any time-and should take precautions. New players may wish to evacuate the suburb. This alert was posted on 17 August 2008). |
Pretty much says it. They destroyed Kinch Heights in under a week, so be careful...

Great Suburb Group Massacre 2010
All suburb wiki pages are undergoing a clean up to remove inactive groups from the group listing (see here: this suburb's groups). If you are a group currently listed in this suburb, you will be contacted on your group's talk page within the next few days and asked to reply, indicating that you are active in this suburb. Groups that fail to reply within two weeks of being contacted will automatically be removed from the suburbs where they are listed.
We're posting here in the hopes that more groups will be aware of the clean up and can respond appropriately, since our team does not have the time nor the manpower to seek out every group in-game or track down its group members elsewhere on the wiki. If you know that some groups in your suburb do not check the wiki, please be a good neighbor and let them know that they NEED to check it for this, or else they will be unlisted in the near future.
The wiki members coordinating the cleanup will be using the table below to track their progress in communicating with the various groups. Please do not edit it if you are not involved with The Great Suburb Group Massacre 2010 team.
