Jedaz
Hey, I've decided that I want to be demoted. Lately I have been feeling that the wiki doens't have anything to offer me and it has often been a source of frustration. In between feeling like I don't get enough recognition to both normal users and moderators flaming (namely Cyberbobs) it's just no longer worth my time to even try any more. So, in short, I'm going to leave the wiki for who knows how long, and to avoid being surprised when someone finnaly gets the policy to remove inactive moderators powers I've just decided to get demoted now. - JedazΣT ΞD 05:39, 19 September 2006 (BST)
I don't think we should give him the dignity. I've been holding these in reserve, but here are screenies of two conversations Jedaz had on the Scroll Wars wiki.
Now, in light of that, can we really offer Jedaz the chance to honourably bow out? Cyberbob Talk 05:50, 19 September 2006 (BST)
Oh, and I like the little convo Gold Blade had with his "back rub buddies" about his attempts to "pull me down". Cyberbob Talk 05:52, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- You do realize that a links to the images better don't you? It doesn't confuse the conversation as much. Don't worry, I don't mind because no one noticed me so there isn't any honour built up to be lost. Also you've just helped prove my point on why I'm so sick of this wiki, and why I made those comments. Why should I help when all I get is un-supportive peers? - JedazΣT ΞD 05:57, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- If you feel so malicious towards us all, I see no reason why you should be allowed to leave on your own terms. Cyberbob Talk 06:00, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- I'm doing the responsible thing and chosing to leave this crap. I don't have to vandalise to make a point, although it is much more obvious if I do. Would you prefer if I just went and vandalised the wiki so that I'm kicked off? Geeze get over it, I'm going out this way, it's my choice. - JedazΣT ΞD 06:06, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- If you vandalise, the only difference will be that we won't have to wait for the policy to be passed. The end result will be the same as if you didn't vandalise, so it really makes no difference. Choose to leave if you wish. But you won't be doing it on good grace, not if I can help it. Cyberbob Talk 06:08, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- The difference is that with the policy I'll probably be perma-banned without doing anything, where as a normal user I could have two cases of vandalism and not have anything done to me. Either way I'm not going to vandalise, but I know that if I stay as a moderator I'll be the first burnt by this policy. Anyway, you can carry out your vendetta against me, but that doesn't prove anything other then you can't see when people are trying to make up for their mistakes. - JedazΣT ΞD 06:18, 19 September 2006 (BST)

Jedaz: I want to keep you on board if I can, because although you take a very behind-the-scenes role here, I think you are valuable as a moderator. Are you absolutely and completely sure that you want to be demoted? There is no precedent for moderators asking for demotion, so I want to be sure that you want this without a doubt. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 06:49, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- Yes, I'm sure. I don't want to work in an enviroment where I feel that my peers don't trust me any more. If I do decide eventually that I may want to become a moderator again then I will go through the promotions page. Honestly, after over two months of moving suggestions, and not feeling recognised or supported by my peers, even some of them trying to take me down, I just want to get away from it all. Hence is why I'm asking for this demotion. - JedazΣT ΞD 06:58, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- I understand how you feel. Have you considered that the very area that you chose to focus on (maintaining the suggestions page) is probably the most thankless part of the wiki? Believe me, I'm grateful that you're there to do the job, and I'm sure other people would be as well if they had helped you with it before as well. Have you thought about taking a break and then trying a more active area of the wiki instead? –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 07:02, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- If you really want me to I can take a break, but I don't think it'll change how I feel. I wouldn't have any clue where else I could help out on the wiki as most of it's already covered by other users. If I decided to come back then the only thing I wouldn't really be able to do in relation to the suggestions system would be protecting the pages. Every other moderator functions are sufficiency covered. - JedazΣT ΞD 07:12, 19 September 2006 (BST)

So whats the decision? I don't think it's too hard to grant me this. I've waited for over an hour for something that I belive should be strait forwards. - Jedaz - 01:35/17/11/2024 08:34, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- You're lucky I got my internet back today, or else you'd be waiting longer. Alright. Bob has asked you, and I'll ask you one last time; are you certain? If you say yes, there will be no going back. –Xoid S•T•FU! 08:39, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- I am 100% sure that I don't want my moderator abilitys any more. So yes, I'm certain. - Jedaz - 01:35/17/11/2024 08:44, 19 September 2006 (BST)
Pending your response to Xoid, I will state my decision for the record: we cannot force someone to be a Moderator if he or she does not wish to fulfill the responsibilities carried by that role any longer. Just as desire to be a Moderator is a requirement for promotion, so should a later lack of that desire be grounds enough for demotion when requested. I believe that you should be demoted, in accordance with your request. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 08:42, 19 September 2006 (BST)
By the power invested in me, you're no longer a mod. Bye Jedaz, sorry things came to this. –Xoid S•T•FU! 08:48, 19 September 2006 (BST)
- Don't be, I had a good run while I was here. Thanks. - Jedaz - 01:35/17/11/2024 08:50, 19 September 2006 (BST)
