Avis, the character

You look down the alley and see an averaged sized man leaning against the wall. He's wearing a blue coat over a dark red shirt, and dark jeans. His hair is long and red, reaching. beyond his shoulders. He has two Desert Eagles holstered at his side, and an old pump shotgun slung on his back. He has dark eyes, and sharp stone-like features. He's looking directly at you, with a slight smirk. He may seem grim and shady, but looks can be deceiving. For this man is quite the opposite. And his name is Avis. Just Avis.

Avis was born and raised in Malton, in the suburb of East Grayside to be exact. He grew up in a middle-class average family, a mother, father, and a sister. He was an above average student, but nothing special. He led an overall average life... But that was before the outbreak. He was minding his own business at the grocery store when he caught wind of what happened. He didn't really believe it. "The dead coming back alive and killing people? C'mon, that's just fantasy... right?," he said to himself. But he was wrong. Dead wrong.

He went home to his apartment that night, laughing at the thought of the dead rising. He didn't believe it until the next day, when he awoke from gunfire. He jumped out of his bed and looked out the window, and saw armed men firing at innocent people. But when Avis looked harder, he saw that these "innocent people" were rotting and missing parts of their body. Moments later he got a call from his parents, saying that they were being attacked by strange people. Avis grabbed his shotgun from under his bead and ran outside into his car.

He sped up his parents driveway, and ran through the front door. He heard a strange crunching and almost chewing like sound. He slowly walked into the living room, finding his parents mutilated on the floor. His fathers old revolver was still clutched in his hand. Avis became furious, and shot at the people. He felled the closest one in a single shot, but had to quickly reload to take down the second person. After the initial shock left him, he looked at the corpses of the people. He didn't know what to think, or what to believe when he saw them. They were actually zombies.

He thought of his sister in that moment, and ran outside and back into his car. He flew down the streets, seeing policeman and soldiers firing at the walking dead. Tons of buildings were being destroyed, most of them burning. He pulled up in front of the apartment complex his sister lived in. He moved as fast as he could up the stairs, stumbling most of the way. He stopped in front of the door and took a deep breathe, before quickly knocking on the door then opening in and going inside. He called out his sisters name, but the only response was the shuffling of feet and murmured words. He crept down the hall and peered around the corner. The first thing he saw was his sisters corpse slumped on the couch, but she didn't look mutilated like his parents. She looked like she had been shot. Avis was incredibly confused at this point, and then heard footsteps again. He slowly stepped down in the opposite direction he came from, up to his sisters bedroom. He cautiously looked in, and saw a man sifting through a jewelry box. He saw a pistol lying on the table next to the jewelry box. He sprang around the corner and into the room, and shot the man in the back while letting out a cry.

Nothing more is known about Avis. All of his records are lost, as are most peoples now. He had been seen around Malton a few times since the outbreak, but that was it. He has resurfaced now, with two new weapons to his arsenal, but still carrying his old and trusty shotgun. He's become distant over the past two years, but he still is a reliable, loyal, and often persuasive man. He's learned a lot about people, life, and many technical skills over time. He now conquests against the zombie hordes and murderers, siding with an East Grayside based group who call themselves Nightwatch.
