Tirak McAlister Captain Tirak McAlister
Tirak McAlister was a reservist in the Air Force and had served a tour of duty overseas before returning to his home town of Malton. There he planned to live out a quieter life as a tour pilot. However, shortly afterwards NecroTech released it's Zombie Toxin, putting an end to his hopeful dream. He was caught in Judgewood when the first of the Zombies attacked, the only weapon at his side an M1911A pistol with two extra clips. It wasn't long until he realized just how bad the situation was. As time went on and the human survivors began to come together, Tirak began using the Brentnall Grove Police Department as a mini base of operations for him. Moving out, attacking zombies, and learning about them. He intends, once he has learned enough about the new climate of Malton, to move closer to the center of the city, and perhaps even take part in the assault planned on November the 5th.
The following is a journal that I will be keeping from the point of view of the character Tirak McAlister.
October 21, 2006 I have arrived at Caiger Mall, the Human Stronghold against the oncoming tide. It is for lack of a better word, incredible. The large doors barricaded with every piece of debris and object they could find, valiant defenders standing ready for any Zed to try to breach those defenses. They'll need to be ready, word has reached them that the Shacknews Hoard, the same hoard that breached Blackmore, is on it's way to finally squash Humanity's shining light in this hell of a city. It's clear this fortress is not what it once was, there is talk amongst the survivors here questioning if they can hold, but most remain confident.
I have taken a position on the defense teams of Caiger, it will only be temporary, only until we defeat the Shacknews hoard, and then I will move on. I hope to be in Riddleybank by the time the Blackmore Bastards make their triumphant return, I stood idle during the first siege, I will not stand idle again.
October 24, 2006 Despite rumors that the Shacknews Hoard had called off their attack, the survivors at Caiger remained vigilant. Their vigilance was paid off when Shacknews finally did attack. In one swift stroke they destroyed the barricades at the Latrobe building and entered with 44 zombies. Despite total surprise and the ferocity of the attack, the Latrobe guards were able to get the word out of the attack, and reinforcements from Caiger rushed to them. In a valiant defensive effort, the Caigairians were able to throw out the zombies with ease, and with that, our spirits have risen dramatically. We have found a way to tap into the coordination effort for the Shacknews Hoard and morale has sky rocketed. I was at the defense of the Latrobe Building, my shotguns and pistols now dry, but the common theme people are getting is that if they couldn't take the Latrobe Building, there's no way they can take Caiger Mall.
October 25, 2006 Spirits are high in Caiger despite the ever increasing Zombie numbers. Last night twice as many Zeds attacked the Latrobe Building as on the first attack. We forced them out again, but sustained heavier casualties, and I've expended the last of my Flares in the attack. I tried to move to the nearest Police Department to try and scavenge for ammo because I don't know the mall store well enough, on the return trip, I found every entry point blocked, there was no way into Caiger. I tried to get back to the Station entry point, but was cut down by Zombies, so now I lay dead, awaiting the energy to stand again, hopefully the Revive Points won't be swamped, if they are, I suppose I'll fight the Zeds on their own terms in the defense of Caiger, after all, it's what the Redeemed do.
October 27, 2006 I was once again back amongst the living, and immediatly on my radio I heard the calm situation reports from the Caiger Mall Survivors, how these warrriors were able to keep their cool about what was happening I do not know, but 100 Zombies had breached Caigers Barricades. My weapons empty and no time to look for ammo, I rushed in with my Fire Axe to see fierce fighting inside the Mall. Survivors rushed amongst the many skirmishes with plastic trees, tables and chairs, putting Caiger's barricades back up, their fearless determination keeping more Zombies from entering. I leapt straight into the fray, fighting along with some of the greatest warriors in Malton. Togather we hacked and bashed and shot our way through the Zombies. Throughout the fighting I saw groups of people, duck under zombie claws, dive past stray shotgun blasts to pick up the bodies of both our fallen comrades and the evil Zombies. The unified defense presented was too much, and it wasn't long before all the Zeds were unceremoniously dumped on the streets, but we could not rest yet. Another attack force hit the Latrobe Building again, they had counted on the first attack to draw the defenders away, but the Shacknews hoard had not precieved the tenaciousness and dicipline of the Latrobe Defenders. They fought back hard against the Zombies, the building soon filling with the stench of the dead and the air began to haze with the smoke of fired shotgun shells. All around Shacknews had attacked, and all around the defenders threw them out. Once again, Caiger stands tall, the survivors inside entrenched behind their barricades, ready and waiting, and chanting, WE GOT YOUR BARHAH RIGHT HERE!
November 2, 2006
It is day nine in the Third Siege of Caiger Mall, and I've begun to get irritated at the disorganization of the survivors inside. They sit there in there cozy little mall, ignoring anything that happens outdoors. Over five hundred survivors reside in one corner of the mall and yet when the Latrobe NecroTower falls, none of them move. I have spend the past nine days fending off attack, firing my weapons dry, swinging my fireaxe until my arms are so tired they can't even lift the axe and then I keeps swinging, and yet they do not move. A bare one hundred and fifty of us defend that building during attacks, and given how far we are outnumbered, it makes me wonder if the conversations I had heard from the Blackmore Bastards about how the Caigarians are too soft to handle real combat is true. Have they lost all desire, or at least the desire of self preservation, to defend the mall. Are they just waiting for Shacknews to breach the mall itself so they can be destroyed? If they do not organize soon, then they are finished.
November 6, 2006
Unify or die is the phrase of the week, or so it seems. Day 13 into the Third Siege of Caiger Mall, and it appears that there is no organization, no plan, and an ever increasing arrogance that can't be backed up. These survivors have grown soft. They seem to think that just because Caiger Mall has never fallen, it never will, but with the loss of the Latrobe Building, the Sweeny building and Holloms Auto Repair, the walls are closing in. It is a sad day when a survivor can use the Latrobe Building as an entry point. The Caigarians must get themselves organized, or they will be destroyed. In any event I've decided to leave. Caiger doesn't need my help, and I do not want to stick around if no one is going to even try to hold the mall. I am headed for Ridleybank as soon as I stock up on supplies. The Blackmore Bastard Brigade has retaken Blackmore, and they will need all the shotguns and medkits they can get. It's going to be a long trip, but it will be worth it.
November 9, 2006
I've left Caiger Mall and traveled to Molebank on the first leg of my two day journy. All and all things are quiet, a few people are holed up and waiting, the scenery isn't much and I'm passing through as fast as I can. The day before I finished loading up on shells and clips until my packs bulged and I strained under the weight, and set out. I decided on an L trip instead of making a least time bee line for Blackmore. I expect to reach it later today, not much else to say for now.
I have reached the Blackmore Building, and no sooner do I catch my breath than a Zombie attack occurs. These warriors holding Blackmore are no slouches when it comes to Zombie Extermination. The zeds went down in a hail of blood, guts and shotgun pellets. Efficient and effective, that's what these brave souls are.
November 10, 2006
The news came like a punch in the gut, Caiger Mall, the last strong hold of Humanity, had fallen. The bodies of the once vailient defenders lay scattered amongst the rubble of a once grand fortress. We knew it was comeing, the CMS and other defenders hadn't realised the threat of the Shacknews Hoard, or the new abilities the Zombies were exhibiting. We raise a solem salute to all those who died when the final attack came. We shall remember.
December 8, 2006
Things are pretty bad all around and I haven't had a chance to report back in for almost a month. 12 days after my last message, Blackmore fell. It didn't come as a suprise, we knew that the Zeds would throw us out, but we didn't really take into scope this whole Shacknews thing. They've moved on from Caiger, and have rampaged through Yagaton and are in Shearbank. Reports from the mall there are scattered, and none too good. It looks like anotehr successful attack by the seemingly unstoppable hoard. The CMS is working on re-taking Caiger, and if they can do it, and Ron Burgundy decides that's a good place to make a stand, we'll show those Zeds what it means to take on the best Malton has to offer. In the mean time, all Bastards have been ordered to Shearbank, I'm on my way, just need to stock up on supplies and ammo, but It may not be soon enough. Only time will tell. Till my next report, Tirak McAlister, signing off.
December 19, 2006
Giddings has fallen after an eight day siege, however the Shacknews Hoard has suddenly stopped. Like the force holding them togather has been broken. While this news is excellent, there is bad with the good. The Blackmore Bastard Brigade has been disbanded. Our numbers scattered amongst the entire population as we try to hold everything we have left. There is very little. I haven't run into any safe malls except for Hildebrand, I'm on my way back there. They broke the Zombie siege and the latest Necro scans show only about 18 active signals. It's going to be a hell of trip. My retreat from Giddings took me in the opposite direction of the mall, and with only my trusty axe to back me up, I won't be much help to any assault forces. I'll report back when I reach Hildebrand. Lieutenant Tirak McAlister, Signing off.

Wow, been a long time since my last call in. Reception has been getting pretty dicey and I haven't exactly been in the most safe of areas. Been scouting around and it seems Zed numbers are down, don't know if this is a sign of us winning, or they're getting smarter. Stopped in at Stickling, it's under zed siege but their holding firm. Haven't heard much from any other areas, haven't been near the north west corner of the city since I left Caiger during the Shacknews Siege. Heard it's under human control again. The Blackmore Bastards have disbanded, and we've been encouraged to join the Malton Rangers, I suppose it's a sign of the times but it still is sad to see the dream end. Nothing else really to say, good luck and good night.
