A (kinda sorta) Brief Autobiography
Real Name - Bren Land
Home Suburb - Roftwood
Age - 25
Sex - Male
Height - 5' 11"
Weight - 220 lbs.
Bren wasn't born in Malton, but you couldn't tell just from looking at him. He was born in south eastern Wisconsin, in a small town by the lake. After graduating, he immediately signed up to join the military. It was one of his life-long dreams to server his country, as he was a big history buff, and wanted to be just like his heroes.
Once he completed basic training, he was offered a chance to join several special groups, but the Airborne caught his eye. He had always loved being in the air, so he signed up right away. Though the training was tough, the payoff was immense. He had a new 'family', and he was in the best physical shape of his life. He was ready to take on any foe....be living or undead.
On the day that the news arrived of a 'zombie' outbreak, there was a lot of joking around. Whoever thought zombies could be real? Even though he'd been interested in zombie literature (Ex: The Zombie Survival Guide, World War Z), he never thought it could actually happen. But within a week, the base was being cleared out, vehicles transporting troops to the supposedly infected city, Malton. Within a few more days, the orders had arrived that a rescue operation was to be executed. Bren and his unit were told to ready up, as they were going to be one of the first to drop.
That day is one he'll never forget. As he boarded his plane (Malton was quite a distance from the base), him and his buddies still joked about it. When the plane started, they quieted down. The trip was silent, no one speaking a word. When they got within range, the cargo bay opened up, and they could see the roads, jammed with refugee and military vehicles. No one was joking anymore. They finally arrived over the city, and the red light came on. They stood and hooked up, waiting for the green light. He was the 5th in line, but he could still see outside. Buildings and vehicles burning, the stench of burning oil, rubber, and what he guessed was flesh. The green light flashed, and they jumped. As he flew out, there was a sudden burst of heat from a huge burning pileup pushed him far up, and the view would have been beautiful, were it not for the pillars of smoke and flames.
He ended up on top of what he thought to be a school. He unhooked himself from his parachute, and reached for his gun, but it was missing. Frustrated and suddenly frightened by the lack of a firearm, he started to panic, but quickly got a hold of himself. He grabbed his binoculars (which somehow remained undamaged), and scouted the area. Nothing at all caught his attention, except for the slight pounding he now noticed coming from the door that led downstairs. He slowly approached it, when suddenly it burst open, and a person came falling down, pursued by another. The one on the ground was motionless, the other whipped it's head up, dropped it's jaws, and let out a loud moaning. It must have been one of the zombies, for it soon lurched at him with it's hands, covered with blood. Having no weapon, he turned around and ran to the edge of the roof, grabbing his emergency parachute on the way. He quickly unpacked it, and used it as a rope to climb to the streets. On his way down, the zombie had attempted to follow, falling off the roof and flying past him, hitting the ground with a muffled thud. He reached the ground, and immediately ran for the nearest open building. Once inside, he collapsed and fell asleep.
When he woke up, Bren began his journey of survival through the city, eventually making his way to the edge of the city, and being accepted past the barricades. He wanted to forget all that he saw, and attempted to push all of it to the back of his mind. But it haunted him, and he couldn't get the images out of his head. The only way he felt he could make them go away was to return to the city, and attempt to save all those he couldn't before. He found his way back to the city, and convinced the nearby base to fly him in with the next detachment of troops. He was refitted, and entered the Blackhawk. Once to the drop point, him and he new squad jumped into the chaos once again. They were quickly separated by a zombie horde attracted by the loud noise and the smell of fresh meat, and he never saw them again. He hopes that they were able to escape, and live as long as he has, but if not, have not been condemned to this undeath...
Since the Jump...
Since his re-insertion into Malton, Bren has gained the call sign Yurination (he's not quite sure why...), and has traveled great distances throughout the city. His most recent 'base' had been Hildebrand, but it fell. Soon after he decided to join one of the many groups that controlled Malton. The MCDU caught his eye, and he quickly found a recruiter. After learning the basics and then some, he was eventually assigned to MCDU - Unit 2, the The Black Knights...
