Get your copy and pasted messages off my talk page! Thank you for your consideration. Radio-ratio 04:58, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- A brief response:
- Lots of newer users come here having no idea about how a wiki works, especially the Urban Dead Wiki. Project Welcome (PW,) tries to rectify that by adding welcome templates to newcomer's pages.
- As an extension to the above, newer users have made petty mistakes in the past, upsetting the wider wiki community. If you know everything about how a wiki works, that's fine, we don't expect that of all newer users (and, hell, I don't even know the obscure areas of wiki policy yet, and I've been around for half a year.)
- I've been thanked about this previously, and got the impression it was working, and helped newer users. In fact, you are the first person to complain.
- Finally, act in good faith. It would have just been a lot faster to delete the message and forget about it.
And finally, if you want to remove the template, just remove {{Welcomenewbie}} from your page. Linkthewindow Talk 05:20, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah
I'm not really going inactive, I'm just going to be a lot less active for a while. I'll probably be more active in a few months, after the current set of real life issues goes away and leaves me some free time. --Pestolence(talk) 13:48, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- That's cool. Just would have been a shame to lose you :(. Linkthewindow Talk 04:06, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Categories
Can't believe I missed that, When linking to categories you need to lead with a : it tells the wiki to look in the main namespace and thus treat them as a link rather than a category tag, much like with inclusion of non-template pages.--Karekmaps?! 01:18, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Recruitment
"07:29, 27 December 2008 Linkthewindow (Talk | contribs) (→SOS Brigade : Pro-Survivor Group - -Removed. Not a template, old timestamp)" What template? Do I really have to make one just for the recruitment?--ScouterTX 14:31, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's mostly so your advert doesn't interfere with the adverts below it. There is some instructions here and a guide here. If they don't spell it out for you, just post back here. Linkthewindow Talk 02:13, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Active
C4NT, the fabulous underground corner kids and VZW are all still active by the way. Even if not wiki active. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 10:27, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- You tell me now! I'll go back and add them back on the main radio page. I don't think C4NT had a frequency. Linkthewindow Talk 10:28, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

What do you think of these edits? ■■ 22:36, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Anti Zombie Squad
Just wanted to say that the leader of this group (Dra13) said something about it. Would he be able to 'rebuild' the group even with the 'Group Inactive' Template? Just wondering. --Janus talk 22:52, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, definitely. It's not a scheduled protection, and removing the advert is easy. Are they active though? Linkthewindow Talk 22:53, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
TSR
Wanna join The Status Reporters and help us give every TRP a status report? --Haliman - Talk 05:48, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, someone had to do this. I'll drop by your talk page with a few ideas, and I'll sign up in a few days (I've got stuff to do first, both in real life, and on the wiki.) Linkthewindow Talk 06:25, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Inactivity project
We've always had groups who don't update their pages, despite remaining active in game, but still keep an occasional eye on the page, none the less. Some of them may not appreciate having the template wacked on their page. Just a heads up -- boxy talk • teh rulz 07:50 30 December 2008 (BST)
- I've added a note on the category page about how to remove the template. At the moment I'm sticking to groups that haven't updated for over six months, and are not on the stat page, as well as nothing on the discussion page. Although some groups might lurk on the wiki, six months is a long time. Anyway, thanks for the heads up. Linkthewindow Talk 07:54, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Arbitration
Go put it back. You'll notice KOTD hasn't made an edit since the last arbitrator volunteered, and given the festive time of year it's unfair to archive it considering. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 05:57, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Done. Linkthewindow Talk 06:03, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry to be such a pedant
But some of the language you chose for your story on my life is atrocious and horribly biased. It clearly shows that while you (someone who i respect and whom i'm sure most people around the wiki do to) wrote the list as evident by the timestamp, the motivation and the choice of language is heavily nubis/karek influenced. Firstly, the "sysop team" didn't say WTF? Boxy, nubis and karek did. I didn't, gnome didn't, cheese didn't, hag didn't, conn didn't and the whole assorted list of inactives didn't. Secondly "abuse of the checkuser logs" is wrong for 2 reasons, one i didn't abuse the "logs" the logs are just a list of previous action on the checkuser function and 2, while i did abuse the function the description and link, to an eye unfamiliar with the particulars of the wiki make it seem like the abuse was extensive. A more accurate description would be "looked up User:Boxy's IP address, against wiki protocol" or something. Also, remove a/vb thingo over cyberbob impersonation, i had nothing to do with that whatesoever, again it's running on nubis etc suspicion. OK thats pretty much it, kudos if you could fix that up. Thanks.--xoxo 22:55, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm getting very confused over this. Sorry :(. I've changed some of the language around. Making a list like this is a hell of a lot harder then it looks-now someone will complain about it having bias. Anyway, if you've got more concerns, just leave em here. Linkthewindow Talk 01:16, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

HALP!
The vandalism is really pissing me off now. Thad says it isn't his men. O rly? Thadeous admitting he sent AT LEAST one vandal to come and mess with my page. Can I get him at A/VB with this? --Haliman - Talk 17:22, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
How sad. I meant that I would stop them from vandalizing your page, nothing more. I certainly did not send anyone. I acknowledge that Skouth and Rohanzap were vandalizing but on their own movement. Good luck with putting me up at A/VB. You will need all the luck in the world.--Thadeous Oakley 18:01, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I second Thad. I moved under my own devices with no prior talk or orders about vandalism. I worked independantly at the time and i regret it as it has thrown Thad into the proverbial hot water rather than myself. So for all intents and purposes strike the charge of ordering people to vandalise your pages from Thad. I myself have already been punished by the admins so i suggest you let sleeping dogs lie. Yours sincerely Rohanzap
- Please, do this elsewhere, as nothing here pertains to Linkthewindow. No, report the specific account responsible for the vandalism. ■■ 18:30, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. Although there has been a recent case to do with ordering people to do vandalism in real life, it's a tad different, and the result of much moar wiki drama. Linkthewindow Talk 01:26, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks
Thank's for the tip, also i kind of accidentally screwed South Blythille's danger report. Can you please change it to Dangerous for me, thanks. --Montana8 12:30, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- Done. Your archive however, should be located in the user subspace. I've requested a move for you, but please remember that in future. Linkthewindow Talk 12:32, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
3 things
first of all, your page looks awfully awful... things just overlap eachother and i have no idea what your inactivity metter tells. And second... unlike the guy who is currently running for prom, you are one of those whom i would gladly vouch for the position. --People's Commissar Hagnat talk mod 01:30, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

- Are you using IE, Hagnat? (get firefox, it's so much better.) And yeah, I second what Haggy said about promotions. I'd vouch for you any day. --Pestolence(talk) 01:34, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

- Ah, that explains a lot. I use a 1680*1050 moniter at home, which means it looks just fine. I'll look into it (I'm using a tiny laptop screen now-it's a resolution probelm.) Anyway, I'll look into that, just as I've conqured the lofty hights of complicated wiki coding. (and, yes, firefox rocks :).) The instructions fail because it's a table, and I imagine the plus button just puts it at the bottom of the page. I'll try to get my user page sorted tonight. Thanks for that. The "New" Archive System
For A/PT, will last all of as soon as I have time to upgrade it. Monthly sucks in this case, it sucks hard. It'll probably end up being like the Arbitration Archives if Hagnat insists on there being a change at all.--Karekmaps?! 04:25, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

- More like it was something he was doing, agreed it would create tons of useless or ridiculously small pages, and then chose to ignore the fact that he was advised against it because the current system worked better. Then again I might just be annoyed that now I have to make something workable from this mess.--Karekmaps?! 04:41, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Nemesis 645
We're convinced this is the Umbrella impersonator. He recently joined our forums less than a week ago and we see strong evidence that this is indeed the character that has been performing all these slanders and vandalizing the wiki. We at Umbrella Corporation ask that this member be put into heavy investigation before he vandalizes again, this time the Umbrella wiki page. We are soon to ban him for his involvement and would appreciate any protection possible for our wiki pages. -Jackson
- Hmm... If you are really concerned about your pages, then request a protection, but unfortunately, a vandal case on grounds like that probably wouldn't get through (my opinion, and I'm not a sysop.) Ether way, I'll revert anything I see via Recent Changes and inform A/VB. Linkthewindow Talk 09:20, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
