Not same imo - shorter, more to the point, which makes it MUCH more accessible and inviting to read. There may be other guides that cover 100% of this material, but also cover much, much, much, much, much, much... more. As the title suggests, this attempts to focus only on what a newbie really needs for the first week or two, to a solid Level 4 survivor, not every related topic that also might jump to mind of a vet player. Guns? DNA extractors? pffft - not newbie friendly at all, imo, quite the opposite. After level 4, sure, lots of options and advice out there to be had - but that's not what this guide is about, and what I specifically wanted to avoid that other guides keep diving into.

So, I think the Guide is at least as good, if not better for its stated purpose, as existing "featured" guides. If you agree, could you move your "against" vote to "abstain"? Or not, just askin'.--Swingin' Sam 19:58, 25 August 2010 (BST)

Image

Hey. :) Okay, first you have to go here and upload the image (if you want, you can add the categories in the summary, but don't worry about it) you have on your pc. Then, go to the page and, under the LocationBlock template, add . Let me know if you have any problems. --Janus talk 17:38, 12 June 2009 (BST)

Pages

Hey there! Your 'C Whitty' page can't stay in the mainspace. Do you want it to be moved to Journal:C Whitty or to a subpage of yours? --Janus talk 14:53, 10 February 2009 (UTC) Can I have it as Journal C Whitty? Sorry bit new to Wiki!

Sure thing! I'll post the move request. Feel free to ask if you have any problem with the wiki, I'll try to help :) (you can sign your posts by pressing Sign.png on your editing toolbar). Cheers! --Janus talk 19:04, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Ads

Heya! You can add the image in your recruitment ad like this:

words words words words words
words words words words words

My advice is to check the code(s) of the ad(s) you like and play with it in your sandpit/sandbox, in order to create your own ad. :) --Janus talk 14:49, 18 May 2009 (BST)

Hi C Whitty

I have noticed that you didn't have a talk page and were eligible for being welcomed by members of our staff. But, checking the number and date of your contributions, I decided to just point you towards the template itself and offer you my help whenever you ask for it. Feel free to stop at Project Welcome/Welcomenewbie if you want a useful array of tips, Help:Contents and the detailed help down here if you want a deeper insight on how a wiki works. Also, use my talk page whenever you have any question about wiki technicalities and/or the specific rules that pertain this particular wiki. See yah!

Hey

Your latest edit to The Dead's historical bid broke the formatting. I've fixed it, but in the future use the show preview button to make sure your edit is good.--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 17:15, 17 June 2009 (BST)

Psst, SA, you forgot to move the second half of DCC's signature and it was still breaking the formatting. --Bob Boberton TF / DW 18:48, 17 June 2009 (BST)

Thanks guys - apologies--C Whitty 21:00, 17 June 2009 (BST)

Mark of Death Editing

You'll notice that your page, The mark of death, has recently been edited (quite a lot) by Mendoza, one of our Fortress members. I've explained to him that he's not allowed to edit another group's page(s) without being a member of that group or acquiring permission beforehand. If you still want to use his last edit with his formatting, feel free to do so by reverting my last edit. --Bob Boberton TF / DW 21:08, 6 July 2009 (BST)

Well you are right it is a bit naughty lol but he did improve it and I didnt realise I actually cant spell - in my defence I am always in a rush so I will revert to his amendments....wonder if he has any more tips, perhaps he could provide an updated fortress roster ;)--C Whitty 09:25, 7 July 2009 (BST)
