The book cases were lined around in a circle, horizontally pointing at each point of a star, made out of Sapphire encrusted Sunstone, in the very middle of the Library. The star sat in the middle of a circle with fountain, imprinted into the ground, around it. The library had two stories. When the sun stood in the middle of the sky, the circle was illuminated perfectly.

Not impressed with the exterior, he decided to see how the inside looked. Amazed and heartbroken by the state of the Library, he set himself for months restoring the Library. Now, if your lucky, he might be sitting by a grandfather clock and a grand old fireplace, staring deeply into a book, hunched over, inhaling long fumes of a pipe with an odd, fizzing liquid.

Description

The Armstead Library is a public library located in the suburb of Rolt Heights along the border with Pescodside to the east.

Though the location of Armstead Library has not changed, it was rebuilt in 1976 after a public protest caused a small fire to break out. Rather than simply rebuild it, the floorplan was renovated to accommodate modern (at the time) computers in an effort to close the gap between generations. While noble, this dream was only realized for a brief decade until early in the turn of the century. After Malton was quarantined, most of the computers were looted, leaving the library as it once was: a haven for books in the old quarter of Rolt Heights.

Mandate

None, it's a library. Go read a book! This is a no-PK zone. Anyone caught Pking will be added to the Burchell Arms Regulars Blacklist.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the barricade plan set forth by the Burchell Arms Regulars, who routinely monitor the barricade level for this building. This building is meant to serve as a shelter for Malton's inexperienced survivors and entry point into other nearby fortified buildings.

Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building. Any survivor found raising or lowering the barricades may be directly "put to the question" by any member of the B.A.R. present at that time. If this happens the accused survivor is required to present a valid reason for their actions or be labeled a zombie spy/death cultist and be judged accordingly.

Survivors are reminded that should any member of the B.A.R find the barricades raised higher that Very Strongly without any apparent danger to the building or area they have the authority to lower the barricades back down to Very Strongly in order to restore access to the building from the outside.

Current Events

April 27th, 2010 - The Burchell Arms Regulars reported that the building had been breached, but that they had made sure it was Very Strongly (VSB++) barricaded again, however there were now 2 zombies inside. No bodies, just zombies. The library is still unpowered and (obviously) lacking surviviors. --Mobius

April 26th, 2010 - The Burchell Arms Regulars reclaimed the library, having cleared it of corpses and re-barricaded. The library is now zombie-free and Very Strongly (VSB++) barricaded.

April 23rd, 2010 - Recon from the BAR confirmed that Armstead had been cleared of its zombie infestation, Very Strongly (VSB++) barricaded, and all the bodies formerly lying inside were dumped. --Mobius 13:49, 23 April 2010 (BST)

April 21st, 2010 - BAR recon reported that the library's barricades were down and two zombies were inside. --Mobius

April 18th, 2010 - The Burchell Arms Regulars reported that the library was Very Strongly (VSB) barricaded, but that there were 3 zombies inside. No survivors were inside at the time of recon. --Mobius

March 22nd, 2010 - The Burchell Arms Regulars reported that the building was now VSB+2, but with 4 zombies inside and 1 zombie outside. As you can probably guess, there was no generator or radio. --Mobius

November 2nd, 2009 - Zombies have broken down the barricades and are feasting on the studying survivors. The librarian is unable to maintain quiet.

November 15th, 2008 - The Burchell Arms Regulars re-secured the library after a recent zombie assault that left most of the suburb in ruins. At this time the BAR reported that the library's barricades were up, no zombies were inside, but that it was unclear whether any other survivors were staying at this location.

March 24th, 2008 - The Library has been overrun by a small group of zombies, and has been subsequently abandoned. --SebastianColfax 02:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

April 17th, 2007 - Morbus, who serves the Cult of Ih-mai Chotsal, murdered prettylvingdead of the Burchell Arms Regulars who happened to be resting inside the library between gunfights in the Rolt Heights War.

Update: In retaliation for the murder of their group member, the B.A.R. hunted down Morbus on April 30th at Club Knyps in Rhodenbank whereupon they executed him for his crimes.
