Goal: Tune a radio to each possible frequency, checking if it gets a The static hisses to a clear silence message (implying the radio frequency is in use by at least one transmitter) or a The radio begins to hiss static message (implying no transmitter is currently tuned to that frequency). By my (extremely rough) estimate, there are 5,480 non-open (i.e. potentially home to a transmitter) blocks in Malton. If 25% of those are regularly occupied (not ruined, abandoned, etc.) and at most 5% of occupied buildings contain a transmitter (based on my observations around the northeast of Malton and while traveling with Big Bash 4), that means around 69 transmitters exist in Malton at any one time. (This means <1 per suburb, which is slightly lower than the number of survivor groups per suburb.) There are 304 frequencies which are accessible to players. If an average in-use frequency has 2 transmitters using it, that means that about 35 of those frequencies are in use, and 269 are not.

:Also note that 25.96 is the External Military Report frequency, and is always active. It will not be listed here.
I plan to begin Sweep Three in late November or (more likely) early December.
Sweep Two (Complete)
First Sweep
Sweep two is happening during the zerg attacks in Darvall.

Second Sweep
Sweep One (Complete)
I'm doing another sweep as the ongoing Nazification of SoC/Caiger's radio channel is super annoying and I want to use my handheld radio for other purposes.

TripleU
A poem/short essay by User:TripleU on July 4, 2013, which I'm storing here:

"Without the players support it will become a quick, and impotent failure." - What an accurate prediction.
It's quite possible that no one will ever look at this page again, ever. The depression of watching UD die perfectly mirrors watching zombies slowly wipe out mankind.
The wiki is full of a rich history that a dwindling few are still around to remember. It catalogs buildings that may soon be ruined or repaired for the last time.
Malton is dying, and taking us all with it. Just like in a zombie apocalyse, it's only a matter of time until the city sits empty, devoid of human life.
When Malton is empty, it shall quietly remain, only remaining, empty and silent, until nature retakes it and the servers shut down.
Death is not the terrible thing. Interest in a game always dies. The terrible thing is extinction. All of our intrests shall die, and all humanity will be lost to Malton.
We who still remain remain in a city where there are more buildings than there are survivors. That fact will never be untrue again.
So here we are, us few who remain, watching each other get scrubbed out of Malton. We remain for no long term purpose. We only remain, for what little time remains.

This is User:Bob Moncrief's first sandbox. Please do not edit without asking first. Thanks!
Other sandboxes: Sandbox 2 | Sandbox 3
For older radio sweeps, see here.

Radio Project

Please note: All are welcome to participate. Make sure to leave your signature in the Date/Sig column. Feel free to go in any order of frequencies, although I will be proceeding upwards from 25.92 to 29.00.
Also note that 25.96 is the External Military Report frequency, and is always active. It will not be listed here.

I plan to begin Sweep Three in late November or (more likely) early December.

Sweep Two (Complete)

Sweep two is happening during the zerg attacks in Darvall.

Sweep One (Complete)

I'm doing another sweep as the ongoing Nazification of SoC/Caiger's radio channel is super annoying and I want to use my handheld radio for other purposes.
