how i add my group to the wyke hills list?

im asking cuz i tried and clicked the preview and i cant see it, so can you help me with this? User:Delta Nitroxs LP

Thanks

thanks but we are a pro-survivor group lol, but just spanish-talking people and we recruit people from outside the game so dont worry, maybe we would make publicity by radio or some tags, but just some cuz we already have publicity in my quiz in facebook (i have 450 fans and 35.000 people :P) so we are growing thanks to that. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Delta Nitroxs LP (talkcontribs) at an unknown time.

You have been placed on an inactive members list though, and will not be able to view the forums. hey

so i saw your edit to the great fire page, me likey. Just quick question - i assume you went into teh category and actually mapped out which suburbs had the most affected locations? just making sure you didnt randomly choose dif suburbs and give them colours :P xoxo 08:42, 30 March 2010 (BST)

That's right. The more buildings destroyed, the darker red, except in Lamport Hills and Old Arkham, where the suburb pages said they were hit hard, as well as Yagoton and East Boundwood, which were between two major hot spots. The most buildings to be lost in a suburb is three, but if a building's description says the entire area burned down, it counts for two levels of red rather than one. --VVV RPMBG 23:51, 30 March 2010 (BST)

Worthy Opponent

Actually, the highlander was probably quoting me-as I said it to him in real life on the phone-So you could add that Scouteric said that "TripleU is a worthy adversary". One of the things that survi groups need to thrive is a good rival. A rival in the sense of "determined and formidable" not in the sense of trash talking hater. One of my jobs as 2nd Co leader is to find such and report to the other 2 leaders. We have a tendency to have a roving membership and after big "events" it is hard to get everybody back! I have quite a dossier on you so we respect your efforts. You play the game well and force us to communicate on forum and coordinate our efforts-in short you make our group and game better. And you do this by your success-for you HAVE been very successful. So successful that we have had to alter our plans and tactics to try to support our friends @ RR. Well done. (And you should thank the other local zed star Annus Horribilis, he has been in the fight relentlessly even before you came to our attention-but I see from your page that you have met-looks like BEFORE we were in Wyke!) Well, See you on the battlefield and good luck!--Belisarius17 01:04, 2 April 2010 (BST)

I made a minor adjustment to your signature since you had left off a and it was causing your timestamps to appear on a new line, which in turn broke numbering for things like voting. Philosophical point

(griefing does not exist. If it's griefing for me to stay in the Wicksted for over a year, it's also griefing for RRF, SFNAS, and even RR themselves to be stationary.)

Respectfully disagree in one small sense-While I agree that your excellent grasp of the vulnerable spot in the RR system is PERFECTLY appropriate for the game and the Barrah movement, and that your group is really effective in spite of the difficulties and disadvantages of being Undead most of the time-(I still think it is harder to be a zombie-my zed guy really struggles), I would say that I have seen griefing in the game, which I would describe as anything that is an attempt to drive players out of the game-as opposed to eating them or shooting them. I would add here that I have never seen the zombie players try to do that-Pker groups-yes, survi groups-yes, deathcultists-once-but not the zeds.--Belisarius17 01:49, 22 May 2010 (BST)
Bel's right. Most anti-zerger groups will admit to griefing, as they aim to drive the cheaters out of the game permanently. I'll also grant that my own death cult will resort to griefing to win a protracted conflict as well. However, the term griefing is thrown about far too lightly quite often, and does not exist anywhere near as much as it is claimed. When I fall, I'll weep for happiness 01:56, 22 May 2010 (BST)
Good point- Trip's relatively small but growing group has a couple of DEAD-icated players that are very good at what they do and creative in their approach. That is NOT griefing-they are just good at being monster barrah fanatics. I had not considered the zerger issue but since they screw up the game I think that the "technique of grief" may be their just desserts.--Belisarius17 03:01, 22 May 2010 (BST)

Linking against Sandbox pages

Just noticed that you had been including some of my Sandbox pages in various places (e.g. your sig, your nav bar). To say the least, I strongly recommend against doing so for reasons that you probably have already figured out. My sandbox pages get blanked and repurposed on a regular basis, so including them somewhere else is extremely dangerous. Once the pages go live however, we will have equivalents of those templates available for you to use, but, once again, you should exercise caution since invalid suburb names could break your navigation bar. Unemplementia

After checking out Ross's Unemplementia page, I saw that you had made some alterations to my areas. I don't mind terribly, just as long as the general feel of the town isn't lost. Although, if you're going to make a major city that would border East and West Jackson, I might have to relocate my areas. Especially if they'd be bordering a bustling city since my areas are themed on the "small rural town" feel.

Guides/Review voting

Hi - wanted to respond to your comments re my guide, A short, simple guide to staying alive, if you don't mind, as I think it ~is~ a significant improvement over other guides.

There's no original research of thought. You're just repeating what you heard in other guides.
Also, crit 3. --VVV (AH) (3) BT! 04:43, 21 August 2010 (BST)

For a "beginner's" guide, it would be nearly impossible to achieve anything original as far as content. Thus that should not, in itself, be a standard for determining a "better guide". In fact, I had not slogged through any of the other opuses, at best only skimmed parts of them, which is what prompted me to create this short(er) one. After over 3 years of intermittent play, I don't have to read the obvious to write about it (or improve on it).

My goal (which I submit I achieved), was a guide that is more focused than ~any~ of those others, and does not try to touch on every basic facet of the game, but only on those to get the newbie to Level 4, w/ Free Running & Construction, which is what a newbie (not every new survivor character, but a newbie) needs to survive while they figure the game out for themselves. Thus it's not about "something new", but "something better" - and if you took the time (ugh) to reread over those older guides, you'd find them all over the map - not what my guide is aiming for.

So, I think the Guide is at least as good, if not better for its stated purpose, as existing "featured" guides, and belongs with them. If you agree, or at least don't completely disagree, could you move your "against" vote to "abstain"? Or not, just askin'. --Swingin' Sam 19:12, 21 August 2010 (BST)

The Wyke Hills/Wykewood confusion

You know, those can happen when you are updating a dozen EMRs alone. And the fact that there were two reports for Wyke Hills and one for Wykewood on that particular update didn't help either. If you find a mistake, it's better to remove it yourself instead of commenting on it and calling me names. That never accomplishes anything. Anyway, the mistake, along with your comment, was moved to the suburb's talk page. -- Kittithaj 16:47, 28 August 2010 (BST)

Can't really claim I'm a Zombese expert as such...

Mostly just a list of phrases and words cobbled together from long waits at revive points, hordes of zombies attacking my fleshy body and the occasional quote on the wiki! But I'll do what I can :) I'm sure I saw a list of zombiefied names for every suburb on the wiki somewhere a few days ago... but where?!

Mall Danger Levels

You'll probably want to edit the one in the Mall Status Map page too... although to be honest I think the numbers should be even lower. I can't remember the last time a mall had 80 zombies knocking on the doors and the 'under siege' tag lasted more than a day, which frankly doesn't make it much of a siege. Maybe 10 zombies with active break-ins is under attack, and fifty is the new under siege? --Aeon17x 16:46, 19 September 2010 (BST)

I've seen malls last for quite awhile with that many zombies outside, so long as they're all feral. Caiger gets that many coming through relatively frequently, for instance, and so long as there aren't any organized teams with them, the survivors can hold out for a decently long while, if not indefinitely. That said, I think there might actually be a policy on the wiki dictating some of the hard numbers for danger levels, so it might be a rather involved process to get them changed. Aichon 21:22, 19 September 2010 (BST)
I was not aware of that wiki policy, and probably neither this talk page's owner since he changed it already. --Aeon17x 01:33, 20 September 2010 (BST)
I was thinking of this, but it's scope is far less than what I had thought it was, so it doesn't apply here after all. Aichon 01:45, 20 September 2010 (BST)

Sig Switch

Friendly notice that having a massive switch statements in your sig is threatening inclusion limits on several parts of the wiki, particularly BIC related stuff which will start to collapse as you sign more danger reports. Could I ask that you significantly reduce them? Pruning the main one to days of week would help a lot. It's not like anybody will read mouseover text anyway. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 21:26, 19 September 2010 (BST)

Also I used + because I can. You realise the wiki will close off trailing tables for you, right? If you remove it, the + button won't leave new messages outside your table. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 21:35, 19 September 2010 (BST)
Also, do what he says. Most of the folks that have stylized talk pages use that trick so that the + button still works. It also wikinewb-proofs your page a bit. Aichon 21:46, 19 September 2010 (BST)
Alternatively, if you want to keep the idea but want to cut the bulk down a bit, you could simply create pages at User:TripleU/sigXXsaying where XX is the day of the month, each one holding a single saying that would have otherwise gone in your switch statement, then, in your signature, rather than using the switch, you'd just tell it to include User:TripleU/sig{{CURRENTDAY}}saying at the point where that switch statement goes. Yes, it means creating a lot of pages, but it also means cutting it down from its current size to around 1/30th the size while still keeping the same functionality.
