Crooketon is a suburb of Malton, located on the western edge of the city. It was once known for wide streets and an abundance of medical facilities, including four hospitals. Noted residents include the Dewberry family who constructed two office buildings, and the MacRae family who owned a small bank and sponsored a local park which now bears their name.

As of the 13th of November Crooketon had the least page hits of any suburb in Malton, with just 22,380, perhaps suggesting Crooketon is the most neglected suburb in Urban Dead's metagame.

Feral zombies are slowly ravaging the center of Crooketon. It looks like what ever survivor presence that was here has vanished. Within a week this suburb is probably gonna fall back into ghosttown status. If you are gonna sleep here, check your surroundings. The break ins are slow, but they do happen.--Slavic 22:07, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Zombies are slowly laying waste to the northeastern quarter of the suburb. Resistance from a handful of survivors is barely enough to slow their progress. --Doc Groucho 20:30, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

December 26th

There are few ruins in the northern side, and the factory there is powered, but survivor presence there is extremely scarce. A group of five zombies is attacking the Dewberry building. Even though it's still a ghost suburb, sleeping safely is possible if you check what's going on outside and keep barricades up. --Doc Groucho 14:10, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

December 25th

The center of the suburb isn't ruined, though it remains unpopulated. Feral Survivors have powered up the SE factory and the phone mast. The radio transceiver at Bees Building is still operative. Most zombies are solitary wanderers. --Doc Groucho 16:02, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

December 24th

Southern Crooketon is recovering and looks a bit less like a ghost town. Jefferson Square revivification point is clear. A radio station is running and broadcasting information in the district frequency (26.12). Methodius General Hospital and Mores Lane Police Department have been barricaded and powered during the last days, despite the efforts of 6-10 local zombies. There aren't news from the northern side of the suburb yet. --Doc Groucho 13:24, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

December 23th

Very small pockets of daring survivors are working in the area while dodging a roughly equal number of zombies. Power and other services are very patchy. Nobody should sleep in a building without checking how many zombies are outside. --Doc Groucho 21:10, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

December 20th

Traveling through the western part of the suburb most of the buildings encountered are in ruin. I've yet to travel east to see if any of the resource buildings are up and manned. The zombie population seems to be just a sporadic amount of ferals, nothing to series; that is of course in the west. Scarbrow's report is accurate.--Slavic 07:04, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

December 19th

External Military 25.96 MHz: "... leaving Crooketon, counted thirty or so outside ... all stragglers, no groups ... only one building with lights on ... most of the buildings are ruined ..." (1 hour and 14 minutes ago)--Slavic 02:03, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

December 14th

Most of the suburb is still ruined, but there are pockets of resistance here and there. Testing the Revive Point. This could be the spear point to retake the Northern Western section of Malton, that is almost completely taken by Extinction. Scarbrow 12:47, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

October 2008

October 28th

All hospitals and PDs ruined. No power. Zombies all over. Borderline Danger/Very Danger. -- Grogh 02:22, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

October 5th

At least 31 zombies on the streets. Breakdown of the Tactical Resource Points:

  • 1 Police dept & 4 hospitals: ruined.
  • 2 factories: 1 ruined, 1 without power.
  • 3 auto repairs: 1 ruined, 2 without power.

Much of the suburb is in ruins, although there are a few signs of survivor occupation. As there are no powered TRPs, and most are ruined, upgraded to Dangerous. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 19:59, 5 October 2008 (BST)

September 2008

September 22nd

SE of the suburb is ruined.. no survivors, few zombies. -Janus Abernathy

September 4th

Thanks to efforts by local survivors and the Malton Rangers Crooketon is largely restored. Most resource buildings are in survivor hands and very few ruins remain in the suburb, zed numbers are also relatively low. Not such a bad place at the moment.--Lord Wulfgar 06:51, 4 September 2008 (BST)
