{{subst:DevelopingSuggestion |time=~~~~ |name=SUGGESTION NAME |type=TYPE HERE |scope=SCOPE HERE |description=DESCRIPTION HERE }}
- Name - Give the suggestion a short but descriptive name.
- Type is the nature of the suggestion, such as a new class, skill change, balance change.
- Scope is who or what the suggestion affects. Typically survivors or zombies (or both), but occasionally Malton, the game interface or something else.
- Description should be a full explanation of your suggestion. Include information like flavor text, search odds, hit percentages, etc, as appropriate. Unless you are as yet unsure of the exact details behind the suggestion, try not to leave out anything important. Check your spelling and grammar.

Rescue (revised)

Type: Military |
Scope: Survivor |
Description: A player with the rescue skill can, at the cost of 1 AP, drag another survivor with 12 hp or less into the nearest building if there are no barricades and the doors are open. |
Discussion (Rescue)
How would you stop abuse? A player may want to carry you a surburb away, or remove exhausted survivors form a tactically important building? --Rosslessness 21:48, 12 June 2012 (BST)
While I think it's a neat idea, it's unfortunately very open to abuse. For instance, what's to stop people from "rescuing" others from a perfectly safe building...then promptly depositing them outside for the zombies to eat? Especially so since people can't free run while carrying someone else. It's effectively a death cultist's dream come true, since it's a Drag skill that doesn't require any extra work on their part and works even if barricades are up. —Aichon— 21:49, 12 June 2012 (BST)
Pied Piper Skills are a no. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 21:53, 12 June 2012 (BST)
I'm also concerned zombies might be able to see the statusses, and target survivors with high AP levels, whilst ignoring those who can do nothing to stop the attack. --Rosslessness 21:53, 12 June 2012 (BST)
- I doubt that info would be too useful. It'd be more useful to target survivors based on activity rather than AP, generally speaking, and that can already be determined based on the order of their names. Of course, AP levels could provide some secondary valuation of targets, so it's not entirely unuseful. —Aichon— 21:57, 12 June 2012 (BST)
That's a good point Aichon, I was mostly thinking of ways to keep people with multiple accounts from abusing it. Maybe have this skill only work on survivors who are outside already?--Draperc 22:48, 12 June 2012 (BST)
- So, something like a "Drag in" skill? I actually might be amenable to the idea of a skill that could only be used as a direct counter to the Drag skill. I.e. it would only work if the barricades were down and would only allow for an outdoor survivor to be dragged back inside the building. Anything more than that and you really do start to get into the pied piper stuff that Axe mentioned. This sort of suggestion has come up frequently, but no one has really come up with a great solution for the issues yet. —Aichon— 23:08, 12 June 2012 (BST)
Yeah, should probably keep it something simple like a drag in skill, at the cost of say 3 ap a player can drag another survivor into a building if the barricades are at VSB or lower. Perhaps I gave this too much thought and made it more complicated than it needed to be in an effort to keep multi account owners from abusing it. --Draperc 23:20, 12 June 2012 (BST)
- Drag in skills become dupe of Fireman's Carry suggestion. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 01:17, 13 June 2012 (BST)
Impostor Check

Scope: Impostors | ||
Description: I've recently emailed Kevan regarding impostors in Urban Dead. This was what he had to say about the subject:
I bring this to Developing Suggestions today, in hopes of helping Kevan find a way to best combat impostors, but as it stands, the only idea I have is, taking Kevan's trivial automated system above, and including a profile description check as well as a name check. But that idea probably won't work due to such groups such as Pathetic Bill and SillyLillyPilly (if any members from one of those two groups are reading this, I sarcastically thank you for making things ten times more difficult for this suggestion). The email is available for forwarding if anyone wants proof of it. |
Discussion (Impostor Check)
Discuss! Give your thoughts, and let's help Kevan come up with a way to combat impostors! --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 12:44, 27 April 2012 (BST)
A bit of research shows that that the new font, Anonymous Pro, is a pretty damn good choice, as “[c]haracters that could be mistaken for one another (O, 0, I, l, 1, etc.) have distinct shapes to make them easier to tell apart in the context of source code.” Of course, the tweak is only going to work for those with the font installed; as it's a free font, chances are it may be bundled with operating systems (I certainly don't recall installing it), but it's not going to be an overall fix. Nevertheless, nice work, the both of you! ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾᚨᚾᛏ 17:35, 27 April 2012 (BST)
So is the discussion about changing fonts or something more complicated. Because yes to fonts. --Rosslessness 07:58, 28 April 2012 (BST)
- Something more complicated. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 13:49, 28 April 2012 (BST)
I was wondering why my character profiles use a different font now... now I know. ~~ Chief Seagull ~~ talk 08:43, 28 April 2012 (BST)
Um, I found that l(ell) and I(eye) appeared different on the profile page itself before but now they look exactly the same... CrunchyCake T Breakfast Club 13:57, 28 April 2012 (BST)
- That might be because you haven't the font installed, so that it reverts to one without such a clear distinction. Check if Anonymous Pro is in your fonts folder? -- Spiderzed█ 14:38, 28 April 2012 (BST)
Looks the same on Android OS 2.2 from what I can tell. I don't think I can install fonts. ~ 21:26, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
lol, truly Kevan knows how to set priorities. Once this issue is resolved UD will be saved! -- Thadeous Oakley Talk 21:52, 28 April 2012 (BST)
What about a dropdown menu in contacts below ignore to flag as impersonator. If that data can be somehow polled, publish a list of them. Would be helpful for ignore list people as well. But only if there was some anti-abuse built in. Maybe Kevan reviews them before they are published. ~ 07:26, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
- right cause I'm sure thats what he looking for.. more work to.--User:Sexualharrison12:18, 29 April 2012
- Doesn't really seem fair or Doable for Kevan, and too open to abuse otherwise.--Shortround }.{ My Contributions 13:27, 29 April 2012 (BST)
- To me, it seems easier/less work than the manual reporting method Kevan mentioned. He's right, it would be difficult to verify any of it. There would have to be some arbitrary rules in place like a) is character active b) is there a similarly named character already c) are there multiple reports against. Even if that's not doable and he opens it to manual reporting, a published list seems more desirable than Kevan editing players profiles. Let the community see and make their own call. ~ 16:16, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

A more universal alternative to changing the font would be to use different colour shades for numbers, upper and lower case on usernames in the "Since your last turn" section and profiles; everyone could see it no matter what fonts they were using and it would be clear if someone was using an alternative spelling. May also make the user names look funkier. --xensyriaT 20:52, 8 May 2012 (BST)
I see this as more of a non-issue. Let people know what your correct alt name is and if you have an imposter add it to your own profile. Personally, I think addressing users impersonating groups is more important, but neither is such that it needs fixed by Kevan. If Kevan is willing to make some changes, there are far better uses for his time. -- Org XIII Alts 23:42, 12 June 2012 (BST)
