Suggestion ideas talk.

Here you can talk about the shortcomings of my ideas or how I could remove the shortcomings.

  1. Wow, cheer up. Not all of them were that shitty. -- Andrew McM 19:12, 10 Dec 2005 (GMT)
  • ReAnd the ones that were not would be? --Fullemtaled 13:22, 11 Dec 2005 (GMT)
  1. About the Viral Breeding ground- humans can only insta-kill if they are physically present with the syringes. The breeding ground is suggesting that they will get killed simply by existing, whether or not zombies are there. --TheTeeHeeMonster 20:59, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)
  • See, there is a shitty suggestion ^^^ . But there are some good ones, like, ummm, er. -- Andrew McM 21:48, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)

  • I will destroy your self-esteem. MWAHAAHAHAHA!!! -- Andrew McM 21:52, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)
  • If they can insta kill us, we should be able to insta-kill you.--Fullemtaled 22:28, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)
  1. Hey, I went and suggested your "10 bonus XP" idea for killing zombie hunters. I personally like it. --TheTeeHeeMonster 17:25, 2 Jan 2006 (GMT)
  • Nevermind><--ramby 17:32, 2 Jan 2006 (GMT)

  1. You forgot to sign your vote on the power plant suggestion. Just thought I'd let you know before someone strikes it out. : ) --Jon Pyre 07:59, 3 Jan 2006 (GMT)
  • What is with the Wiki these days? Either it doesn't want to come up or it erases posts and other radom junk/crap - --ramby 08:01, 3 Jan 2006 (GMT)
  1. But the scanner doesn't reset when the tags reset. so afer a start up period were the fact that the tagging count will probably be evenly devived slows it down, the extra syringes will average out at zombies scanned/Number by big K (as the suggester so eloquently put it.) but at 10 the resulting free syringes will do almost nothing at personal level. but it will likely have the same effect as upping the find rate by 1% to 2% (5% search rate at 40AP a day with 5000 necro's searching) would you vote yes on that? and you get free Xp with it too.--Vista 16:56, 7 Jan 2006 (GMT)
  • But you don't get free XP, you see if you calculate movment at maybe 10 ap for the movment between squares, you then add 10 ap for scanning if you are lucky and get 10 scans right off the bat, then add 1 for leaving the building and then like 3 ap to get back to the building, then 1 ap to create the syringe you come up to a total of
25 ap spent.for 45 xp total.--ramby 17:05, 7 Jan 2006 (GMT)
  • It is movement you'd ordinary also do, remember scanning is already in the game so that it does is add free syringes to it. most operate from necrotechs bulding anyway. so all the costs are, walking to a necro tech, you'd normally not walk to and spend 1 AP more then 5 AP it can't cost so instead of freeing 21000 AP's on the survivors side it merely frees up 16.000 AP and add 1 to 2000 syringes in the game per day. But you're right the XP it self is already part of the action and should be taken out of it. but for the rest my problems with it stand.--Vista 18:03, 7 Jan 2006 (GMT)
  • But, it does not signifigently free up ap. At most, it would be usefull for what people all ready do. also, I do not think 20,000 zombies are scanned a day, I am a zombie on my alt and as is, I get scanned, maybe once every couple of days.- --ramby 21:17, 7 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Fort Fences

I don't want to make it cost 1AP for every zombie present because it costing 20AP or even more to fix the fence would make them worthless because spending that much AP is not a good use of your time. Imagine if a horde of 51 zombies were there? Fences would no longer exist because it'd be impossible to ever repair them. A horde of 20 zombies is rather small. Ferals could easily form that on their own. It'd be far easier to enter a fort compound than to break down the barricades in a heavily occupied police department for feral zombies. --Jon Pyre 21:14, 21 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Do you really think zombies will just allow you to walk over to the fence and repaired it when they are already inside the fence? At elast make it so that the peeople inside the fence count towars the amount that can alow a fence to be broken and make it so that once the fence is broken the zombie is already inside when he brakes the fence. - --ramby 22:46, 21 Jan 2006 (GMT)
Here's my logic for not allowing zombies inside the fence to count towards those outside. First off it forces the zombie players to use strategy. If they leave the fort and camp outside they can help zombies get in, but the downside is they might not be able to get back in themselves. Otherwise all this suggestion would do is make zombie players camp next to the fence rather than in front of the armory. Zombies inside can still break the fence but if they want to help the ones outside break it they need to make a choice. I think zombie players could use a bit more strategy in their gameplay. --Jon Pyre 19:53, 22 Jan 2006 (GMT)
I think zombies are suppose to get majorly better slowly, like land of the dead or day of the dead zombies, like somewhat returning to normal life even though dead zombies. --ramby 03:39, 23 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Guard

"Actions while offline" refers to things like automated attacking. This skill is not an automation of an in-game ability. To think that the oft-used saying "No actions while offline" presumes your character is in a coma most of the day is not right. You simply should not be able to play Urban Dead without logging in. This is not that by any stretch of the imagination. --Jon Pyre 06:57, 24 Jan 2006 (GMT)

    • Repeat of what I said in suggestions - --ramby 07:08, 24 Jan 2006 (GMT)

You can use guard in any building but if someone destroys a generator in a building where it doesn't matter you don't have to act against them. And the player destroying the generator could always first say: "Hey, this generator isn't doing anything and is attracting too much attention. I'm going to kill it." --Jon Pyre 18:58, 29 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Yeah, it's true that survivor vs. survivor conflict often lead to their downfall. But half the survivors aren't invisible and the "bad" humans are usually killed, not forever plaguing the living with their stealthy completely uncatchable sabatoge. And really, if someone using Guard discovers who is destroying the generator and kills them what do they lose? They become a zombie again and can continue playing their own side. And they can very easily get revived and start destroying generators. This just gives a defense to a tactic that cannot be countered. Why even implement generators if one player can sit in a safehouse and destroy them with no way to oppose them. Finding a generator costs a lot of AP, more than even a syringe. And then there's the cost of fueling it. Either generators need to be defendable, or a lot easier to find. --Jon Pyre 20:04, 29 Jan 2006 (GMT)

It's not scary, it's annoying. If someone is killing survivors they'll get reported and killed. If someone is killing generators they're anonymous. It's not scary but a pain in the ass. I'd rather be forced from a building because there are zombies outside and its either run or die but not because I'm getting frustrated that some guy keeps smashing the generator I spent a whole day finding for 5 AP. It's not in genre, it's just "I can't use this feature of the game. It isn't fun." Imagine if fellow zombies could somehow stop Feeding Groan from working by spending 5AP to give off false groans and lead zeds to empty buildings. It wouldn't be fun, it wouldn't be strategy, it would just be a pain. --Jon Pyre 20:58, 29 Jan 2006 (GMT)

I don't think I shouldn't be able to use generators in surburbs with human/zombie conflict. Because any place besieged by zombies will have zombie operatives destroying generators in NT buildings and hospitals. There's no point to generators if you can't use them where they are needed. The same argument could be made for my false feeding groan example. Would you like it if I said "Hey, if some zombies are just leading other undead to empty buildings and causing them to waste a days AP those zombies can just leave the suburb." --Jon Pyre 21:12, 29 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Goodnight. But remember, people can still see flares and hear people around them. You aren't necessarily asleep. --Jon Pyre 21:27, 29 Jan 2006 (GMT)

It's not a bad idea, though now unneccessary (Huzzah!) because we got one better.. Ignatius Newcastle 19:57, 6 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Postponed Revification

Because of a misclick (those things are deadly around Caiger), my survivor died before being able to revive your character. Sorry for that! If my char gets revived soon, I'll check back to see what I can do for yours. Otherwise, warn me if your guy is revived before that, okay? --Omega2 14:09, 3 Feb 2006 (GMT)

eww. I just got revived, so if you want a revive, I can get you the url to a pretty fast working system if you like. --ramby 14:43, 3 Feb 2006 (GMT)

My suggestions

This is were I will place suggestions I think up. and if anyone ahs any comments just palce it like a comment or vote would be on the voting page.

Bayonet with brass knuckles added

Timestamp: 20:25, 4 Feb 2006 (GMT)
Type: Item to be searched for
Scope: Survivors and maybe zombies slightly
Description: Just as said, it is Bayonet with brass knuckles on it. It would have 3 damage per hit so as too have a same damage ration as an axe. Or, have 2 damage per hit but have a higher case so that it is equal to the fire axe. The brass knuckles would raise damage done by ones punch to 2 and it could maybe give some kind of flavour text with headshot? "You punch a zombie with brass knuckles in the face, he falls backwards onto the ground with a loud thud and a crack of breaking bones."(Insert headshot message here.) For survivors and, "(survivor name) punched you square in the face with brass knuckles, you fall over from the force and black out." (Insert headshot message here) for zombies. What do you think?

arbitration

I am thinking of becoming an arbitartor, I would like peoples opinion of weather or not I would make a good arbitrator or not. --ramby Talk 06:08, 27 February 2006 (GMT)

Re:Arbitration

Done and done =) --Lucero Capell 01:45, 5 March 2006 (GMT)

Ramby, I believe MaulMachine was saying yes, you were mistaken ;-). The first section of a group's page has been ruled to be "public", editable to all as an NPOV section. Whether or not I am allowed to edit that section is not the issue at hand, the issue at hand is whether either of our edits are NPOV. =) --Lucero Capell 03:14, 5 March 2006 (GMT)

Hey there. I think what usually happens with Abritration where an Arbitrator finds someone to be incorrect is - the Arbitrator decides on a resolution.

Like if I had stolen his tomatoes, you might say "Amazing is to buy Lucero some new tomatoes." You know what I mean? In this instance it might be prudent to tell Lucero to make no further edits for X amount of time (perminently?) and that his comments can be removed -- IF that is your decision. I'm just putting out what I'd personally like to see, but that's all up to you. No rush and all that, of course. -- Amazing 04:52, 5 March 2006 (GMT)

RE: Thanks for the notify about Amazing's post. I was expecting him to post to Misconduct, and was watching that page, but I would have missed it on Arbitration otherwise.--'STER-Talk-Mod 03:50, 14 March 2006 (GMT)

Arbitration

Uhm, I don't really think it's reasonable to strike someone from the Vandal report page forever. That's giving everyone on the wiki a free pass to deface every page of mine, since I can't report them. -- Amazing 05:10, 14 March 2006 (GMT)

Sorry, no. I've requested a different Abritrator as per the page guidelines. Your decision was a bit impossible to follow and would cause even more problems than there are at present. I elaborated on the Arbitration page. Again, I'm sorry but this can't be avoided given an impossible decision. -- Amazing 05:24, 14 March 2006 (GMT)

Yeah, no problem. I should have checked further, but it seemed like a lock. Sort of like being punched 37 times by one guy, then someone punches you when you aren't looking.. So naturally you assume it's the same guy. -- Amazing 05:40, 14 March 2006 (GMT)

Don't worry about the posts, I can move them to my talk page. If you'd like to delete them, feel free. If you don't want to take the time, I'm more than happy to move them, either way. -- Amazing 05:55, 14 March 2006 (GMT)

No problem, just add any word onto the end of your user page URL and paste anything you want to move into it.

For example: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/User:Fullemtaled/Archive

Just go to that URL and start editing it to create your Archive! :) -- Amazing 06:13, 14 March 2006 (GMT)
