::Thanks for the response and info. I haven't used the wiki in a long time and forgot how to check. I left some graffiti in Houldenbank declaring RR defunct, which I rather thought it was at the time, and it's certainly defunct in Houldenbank. Thank you, Bob, for the welcome and the tip. I most certainly appreciate the help as I am new. Will likely be using your pages and assistance to help both myself and the Wiki grow! --Alexander Brock (talk) 19:34, 27 November 2018 (UTC)

Edit Speed

Hi bob, just wondering how long it takes for my edits to actually change the site. --Desert Roamer (talk) 22:34, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

Hey Desert Roamer, your edits should be instantaneous. Sometimes if high-traffic pages are edited they may take a minute or so. But nothing short of "practically" instant. THE CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER 11:20, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
There's also a layer of "percolation". If you edit e.g. a suburb DangerStatus, it can take one to ten minutes for it to change the actual map on the Suburb page, for example, depending on the length of the job queue. Bob Moncrief EBDW! 16:06, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

Update suburb danger level

Hey Bob, I updated Lockettside's danger level, it shows on the lockettside page but it is not (yet?) reflected on the city map page. Is this normal or did I do it wrong?--EasyDinner (talk) 19:58, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

EDIT; I just read the comment above, guess that answers my question ;D --EasyDinner (talk) 20:00, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Yup, it can take a few minutes for changes on one page to propagate to other pages. If you want to speed things along, there is a trick you can do: go to the page you want to see updated (e.g. City Map), edit it, and then save it without making any changes. Doing so won't actually change the page's content at all, but it will force that page to refresh any content that it gets from elsewhere. ;) Aichon 20:16, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Spelling mistake at creation of page

Hi Bob, I made a mistake in the title of my page and would like to change it. I'm probably looking for a tab that says 'move' but I am unable to find it.--EasyDinner (talk) 09:52, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Hey EasyDinner, only sysops can move pages I'm afraid. Could you tell me what page you'd like it to be moved to? I could do it right now for you. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 09:56, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
Hello DanceDanceRevolution, I created Clan of the Wooly Rhinoceros but it should be Clan of the Woolly Rhinoceros --EasyDinner (talk) 10:09, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
No problem ED. I've moved the page over. The old page also now redirects to the new one too. May your Rhinoceri remain Woolly. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 10:23, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
Thanks a million, I'll be more careful in the future :) --EasyDinner (talk) 10:34, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
As long as you're creating you can be as careless as you want! We'll be there to help out if things go wrong. Good luck! DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 10:39, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Thank you

Thanks for the welcome ! Sorry I’m not too savvy yet on the wiki I’m still trying to figure it all out.

Sure thing! You'll get the hang of it soon enough. ^_^ Bob Moncrief EBDW! 12:03, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

Most linked to page

You just need like 2000 more links! :D -- SomethingSomething.gif 09:56, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

The main problem is that my various signatures link to other pages, so those get boosted too. Makes it hard to pass Project Welcome when I keep linking to it. Bob Moncrief EBDW! 12:09, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
Also, unfortunately, a few of those links aren't permanent if they are on Dangerreport updates. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 22:12, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
Too true! My throne lies upon a house of cards. Although that is a sig race strategy in itself, since one DangerUpdate gets your sig onto 3 or more pages. Bob Moncrief EBDW! 22:16, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
That’s super clever... you sneaky thing. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 22:28, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome. I did have one question as I'm new to editing wiki. Is there a delay between updating the status on the User:DangerReport/LOCATION pages and the actual status on the main location page showing the update? I updated two danger reports yesterday and I ended up dumping my cache for the last 24 hrs to see if it would show the updates on the main as they weren't showing any immediate difference. It shows on one now, but not the other page. Sidicious (talk) 19:08, 21 December 2018 (UTC)

Replied on your talk page. Bob Moncrief EBDW! 20:46, 21 December 2018 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome Bob, I actually played UD a while back and me and my friends are just getting back into it. We're thinking about scoping out Fort Creedy and working on it slowly but surely. We're not sure if we'll base ourselves out of Pegton or Edgecombe but I figured I have AP so I'd update the Danger Map as much as possible while I'm at it. AsukaUnit-02 Pilot 19:56, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

Sure thing! Creedy can be a dangerous place, so be prepared for a fight. But I'm sure you know that! Bob Moncrief EBDW! 21:55, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

Still on the hunt. I've mostly been surveying safe/intact suburbs, but might end up in part of the DMZ soon, which has been occupied by the Dead for months. Will keep you posted. Bob Moncrief EBDW! 03:47, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Suburb Groups

Hey Bob. I noticed you reverted the changes I made to the group listings in some of the suburbs I frequent due to me not being a member of said groups. How are we supposed to keep that section up to date in light of the fact there hasn't been an accounting of active and inactive groups on the wiki since 2013? Thanks -JAZED (talk) 20:48, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

I would suggest asking said groups on their talk page and if they don't reply in a few weeks, I wouldn't have a problem taking them off. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 22:31, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi Jazed! The short answer is to second what DDR said above — a group in question needs to be clearly inactive, not just visible in-game, to be de-listed. If the group puts an inactivity template on their page, then it's fine to de-list them; otherwise, you should leave a message on their talk page specifically regarding their listings, and if they fail to respond in, I'd say a month, you can remove the listings.
The longer answer is that the original impetus for the existence of the GSGMs wasn't how out-of-date group listings were, but because the listings on each suburb page were becoming untenably long. That's definitely not the case on the current lists. The goal of having an up-to-date set of listings has always been secondary, but, that being said, we are definitely overdue for another GSGM. Are you interested in helping out? Please leave your signature here and we'll let you know when we get started. if you feel it's a major problem please make sure to get involved, and get those you know involved, in the GSGM. Seeing more volunteers listed there would definitely give the Massacre a kick in the pants. Bob Moncrief EBDW! 22:41, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

active places

Do you know any act o be parts of malton for new players to gain experience? Thanks for the welcome--Cain Howell (talk) 00:29, 27 January 2019 (UTC)

Apparently we are at war?

I'm only back to the game since a few weeks, and wasn't aware RR was even active anymore. All but one of my old contacts have their names crossed out. I saw one other member at my old NT building, but it otherwise seemed to be operating on the strength of tradition. Kind of makes sense because honestly what was the point? Well I left out of boredom, and I'm up in Houldenbank tagging along with some folks who like to repair phone masts, and I run into this joker.

MichaeI Jacks0n id=1564806

Half a decade seems an awfully long time to hold a grudge against a mostly inactive group. The Greatorex clinic is powered but barricaded, and I see no indication of anyone trying to bring it back. Their group page hasn't been updated in 4 years. Was this person even a member, or do you think he was just looking to start trouble in the suburb? What the hell are they even using for a PKer database anymore?

Grateful

Thank you for the greeting, Mr. Moncrief. There's a lot to learn in Malton and I really appreciate having someone I can ask for a word of advice.

I do have one question: I've noticed some people have a really nice little page set up for their character and I was wondering if there was a link that perhaps had a template for making up such a page. It would be nice if it had instructions or recipes for making those jolly little -?buttons? I don't know the real name- rectangular boxes that have a few words explaining the owner believes in this or that policy or supports a particular group. Do you know the little label-thingees I mean?

Once again, thank you for your kind greeting. Malton can be a bit intimidating!--Catherine Cushing (talk) 04:43, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
