Barricades around the library

File:Alner Barricade.jpg
Map of entry points around the library

Following the suggested barricade plan for Wyke Hills the library should be barricaded to VS+2 at most. The Alner Library and the Howlett Hotel are separate from the main free running network in Wyke Hills, so this building provides access to the Howlett Hotel which in turn should be kept at EHB for maximum safety. For discussion of the barricade policy see Talk:Barricade_Plan_of_Wyke_Hills.

Reference Section

Libraryint03.jpg

The Alner Library was the first to be built in Wyke Hills, and is one of the oldest within the city. Contrary to popular belief the library has no link to the Alner Family or Alner Place School, predating their presence in Malton by several decades. The impressive reference section was not part of the original building; after substantial structural damage in 1942 the library was rebuilt and expanded. The façade remains as it was in the late seventeenth century, and is Grade II listed - however most of the rest of the building is modern.

RECENT EVENTS Listed in reverse order, with newest first.

April 19, 2007
Things are starting to return to normality; a number of survivors have returned to the library. However, caution must still be made as zombie activity around the vicinity is still negligible.

Frankly, WE ARE SCREWED, Alners broken into and the pope's almost living up to his name!
March 13, 2007
Alner is slowly going through repairs as the RRF withsdraws like a poluted tide, leaving a lot of junk and pathogens. Discussions have started about what the new decorations should be. =P
March 7, 2007
We are currently under heavy Zombie Attack, it seems that Alner has only one option for the moment and well-being of others -- evacuate. To many people running is for cowards, but there are massive groups of zombies, one having broken in, and so far are trying to tear down Alner.
February 27, 2007
An underground hidden basement extending under the nearby museum was found containing even more of reference adding, to the already colossal amount. Also contains most of the greatest novels in chronological order from the 1600s to just before the Malton incident. =P
Early February 2007
Members of the Quartly Study Group visit the library.
28th December 2006
WolfWhoSings presented the library with a fine Christmas gift of a radio transmitter.
