DHPD Criminal Code

Jurisdiction:

The DHPD considers its jurisdiction to be the Dunell Militarized Zone (DMZ). This consists of Dunell Hills, Peddleston Village, Chudleyton and Caiger Mall, West Becktown, Molebank and Owsleybank. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, warrant request and execution procedures are only valid within the DMZ.

Warrantable Offences:

The Following Violations will result in the issuing of a Warrant which entitles a DHPD Officer to execute the perpetrator:

  • Assault upon a DHPD Officer, Recruit or civilian within the DMZ (not including a friendly punch, newspaper whack or barfights).
  • Murder of a DHPD Officer or Recruit anywhere in Malton or murder of a civilian within the DMZ.
  • Destruction of municipal property, i.e. barricades, communications equipment and generators unless just cause can be determined, within the DMZ.
  • Impersonation of a specific DHPD officer or Recruit by use of a character name that is sufficiently similar to a DHPD member to cause confusion (applicable throughout Malton).
  • Actions liable to bring the DHPD into disrepute while impersonating an Officer or Recruit by the use of the tag "Dunell Hills Police Department" when not a department member. In general such actions are also violations of the criminal code (applicable throughout Malton).
  • Through use of in-game speach, broadcast, or message the deliberate assault upon a survivor of a nature to be found egregiously offensive. i.e. sexually-explicit or racist in nature (applicable throughout Malton).
  • The Possession of Neil Diamond or Barry Manilow Records.

The Following Violations will result in the issuing of a Permanent Warrant:

  • Repeated crimes of murder within the DMZ.
  • Repeated crimes of murder of a DHPD Officer or Recruit.

Crimes Resulting in an APB or BOLO:

The Following Violations will result in the issuing of an APB or BOLO (public listing on this Wiki page). Perpetrators will be monitored but no warrant will be issued unless a warrantable offence is committed.

  • Impersonating an Officer or Recruit of the Dunell Hills Police Department by the use of the tag "Dunell Hills Police Department" when not a department member (applicable throughout Malton).

Terrorism

If a group of players repeatedly murders and assaults DHPD Officers, Recruits and civilians, or is known to be a group whose raison d'être is to PK survivors, their group may be given terrorist status. Wearing the group name is then equivalent to having a permanent warrant. Membership of a terrorist group is considered to be an offense throughout Malton and the warrant may be served anywhere.

Not Crimes:

  • Zombie Spying. The DHPD does not warrant or take action against survivors for activities considered to be 'spying' for zombie groups, provided no violation of Criminal Code takes place.

Warrant Duration

The duration of a warrant is:

  • Non-permanent warrants are reviewed after 45 days and removed if no further offences have occurred, there is evidence of contrition (usually an apology), or evidence that the individual has removed themselves from the Dunell Hills sphere of influence on a permanent basis.
  • A warrant may be removed upon appeal. Appeals should be addressed to the DHPD Chief.
  • Permanent Warrants and Terrorist Group status may only be removed by appeal.

Evidence of crimes is recorded and is available on request in the case of an appeal.

DHPD officers must refer to the warrant procedure detailed on the DHPD forum.

Outside parties should please note that this is an internal list, and that the DHPD does not endorse or take responsibility for non-members acting upon this information.

When a DHPD Officer serves a warrant they will always clearly state the crime for which the warrant was issued. The warrant will also be available on this page.

Warrants for murder may be served anywhere in Malton. All other warrants are served only within the DMZ.

  • In the past, permanent warrants have been approved for individuals with names designed to copy genuine officers, or for committing violent offenses. These warrants stand.
