Coments questions and concerns (Predator's Cup)

VZW Question: Jack, we have run something similar to your Predator's Cup and had one incident with a fellow creating zergs to help him scout and hunt. How are you addressing this potential zerg/cheat in the Predator's Cup? --Shazzelim 16:40, 14 May 2008 (BST)

Unfortunately you can not fully stop zergs as we know. But here are two answers that hopefully put some concerns to rest.
  1. We are asking groups choose a few member to represent them. Hopefully acting as a representative for thier group will reinforce the use of the honour system.
  2. This is actually written in the rules, at the begining of each match a competitor must report to thier respective referee, before begining their hunt. Although this may not stop a zerger, the character they have to use to make the kill will have less AP to do so.
If you have any further concerns or suggestions please feel free. Section 13 would like to see VZW represented in the PC, and we are eager to make this event work. --Jack S13 T! PC 19:04, 14 May 2008 (BST)

Projects

Cellphone Change

Carried over from Suggestions Page.

A suggestion for a new item "walkie talkies" was recently made, this item would allow radio style communications within the same suburb.

Many people felt that this would nerf cell phones, and brought up the point that the problem could be resolved not by adding an item, but by changing how celphones/radio masts worked. the following is open for discussion, and developement.

the arguement is that cell coverage is not persued by survivors, because of the effort:return or usefullness doesn't balance out. Here's an attempt to adjust or improve the balance

Discussion

My first idea on how to improve cells, and radio masts, was to increase how coverage works, by allowing a powered radio mast to provide coverage to its own suburb and adjacent suburbs as well.

Ie. Dakerstown had a powered radio mast, it would also provide mobile coverage to Jensentown, Roywood, and Judgewood-- Jack S13 T! PC 16:14, 2 April 2008 (BST)

Are you talking about cell/radio improvement? Like nextel or something?--Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|Z.Quiz|PSS 06:54, 3 April 2008 (BST)
It would only effect cells, so i guess it is like nextel. the idea would increase the range and effectiveness of phone masts, and as a result make cells a more usefull item.

Zombie stacking

Are you so sure recently active zombies go to the top of the stack? The most recently active survivors go to the bottom of the stack, and I'm pretty zombies do as well, given the changes in battle I've seen, where a real-time fight against a zombie goes bad, as it gets replaced with a "fresh" zombie, which I assume to be from the attacking zombie moving under a zombie that had acted before it. Is there a way to verify this?--Kolechovski 04:10, 9 April 2008 (BST)

Free Calling Suggestion

Jack 13, please check out the discussion page of that suggestion, click on the link I provided under your kill vote. I just would like you to see why your concerns about spamming are not relevant when it comes to mobile phones - they work differently than radios and it's exceedingly easy to block unwanted calls, even if someone did call that you didn't want. And they can't spam in any case. I'm looking forward to hearing from you there. Thanks in advance! --Tselita 20:08, 10 April 2008 (BST)

Hiding In Plain Sight

I believe this may help? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 12:46, 11 April 2008 (BST)

VZW and The Devil's Promenade

Jack! The VZW Team has completed the course! I have written a bit of a journal and posted on the talk page. --Shazzelim 16:37, 17 May 2008 (BST)

Frank Freeman

Is this a character page? If so, you're going to have to move it to your user namespace (User:Jack 13/Frank Freeman). Alternatively, you might want to consider possibly making a journal page out of it (Journal:Frank Freeman). In any case, it looks like it will need to be moved. --PdeqTalk* 06:41, 1 June 2008 (BST)

I categorized the journal, but it will need content.--– Nubis NWO 13:48, 1 June 2008 (BST)
Fixed the category. Jack, you'll probably want to copy and paste content of the old page (it had nice content I thought) to the journal page, and also go to speedy deletions to get rid of the original. --PdeqTalk* 17:12, 1 June 2008 (BST) It seems he moved everything to User:Jack13/Frank Freeman, so I guess the other two pages can go? --PdeqTalk* 17:14, 1 June 2008 (BST)

when i have some time i'll put them up for speedy deletions. I was trying to get a url that fit into the characters ud profile web page link. thanks for the heads up, and feel free to give it a read. Jack S13 T! PC

Try making a tinyurl for whatever wiki page you have it on. Would that solve your problem? --PdeqTalk* 04:32, 2 June 2008 (BST)

thanks for the advice pdeq, worked perfectly!Jack S13 T! PC 01:09, 3 June 2008 (BST)

Group Subpages

I've been working on getting subpages for groups named properly (for wiki organization purposes). (i.e. Name of Group/Name of Page) Could you get together a list of the Section 13 subpages, and either go to A/MR to have them moved to Section 13/Name of Page, or just paste the list here and I'll request the list for you. Thanks.--PdeqTalk* 18:28, 16 July 2008 (BST)

we also have another sub group in the works. The Delta’s will be our development and recruitment squad. It will have it’s own page (as per The Wolfhounds) once I’m ready to post it.

The field manual was ment to be kept private(s13 only), but there's nowhere else to put the information.

Anything else Pdeq? Where ya been? Life is good for the thirteens. --Jack S13 T! PC 19:16, 16 July 2008 (BST)

That's great, thanks. I'll make sure the sysops move it all to the correct spots (will make request later today). Yeah, the little squads and stuff do count, but if you don't like seeing Section 13/ at the top of all the group pages, there's a way to change how the title appears. For example, The Deltas' page would be located at Section 13/The Deltas, but you could just have the words "The Deltas" appear at the top where the title usually is. I've been pretty good. My character "Pdeq" is taking a long nap while I play a few other characters (zombie, bounty hunter, survivor, I've got an assortment. None of them have as nice a backstory as Frank though. Perhaps one day I will get motivated and write something like that journal. --PdeqTalk* 19:54, 16 July 2008 (BST)

are you Talking about using a Level 2 Headline?

Frank was actually inspired by the play of Voudan Curn who put a hit on Reverend Scrape.

If you start using Pdeq again you're always welcom in S13 circles, but we have a policy that alts in or working with the same group is a form of Zerging. Another reason why the DEM sucks. --Jack S13 T! PC 20:49, 16 July 2008 (BST)

Thanks. I'm a big fan of that policy. Actually why Pdeq went away this time, because I had an alt who wanted to move into the neighboring area. --PdeqTalk* 21:16, 16 July 2008 (BST)
I hear you. I'm runing to charachters in neighboruing burb's right now and it's a bit of a pain. But I can't move one for now, and the other needs to be there for storyline. --Jack S13 T! PC 21:19, 16 July 2008 (BST)
Oh, and no not level 2 headlines. I mean something like this. That title is center aligned, but you can do it left aligned two and it looks just like the actual title would, but it doesn't match what is shown in the url (i.e. the actual title). --PdeqTalk* 21:29, 16 July 2008 (BST

Location?

Greetings. I am DT, of the Philosophe Knights. I noticed that your group is active in Lamport Hills, and I wish to speak with you about a delicate matter. Where might I find you? Don't be worried, though the Knights are known for our PKing, we're also known for our diplomacy, and most of all, our honor. If we meet in game, there will be no treachery, only a discussion. Thank you for your time, and Praise Knowledge. --DTPraise KnowledgePK 16:59, 18 August 2008 (BST)

The location is agreeable. Hopefully, it will not be infested with zombiekind by then. --DTPraise KnowledgePK 02:53, 19 August 2008 (BST)
Check your email. But we can talk in-game just as well. --DTPraise KnowledgePK 05:14, 19 August 2008 (BST)
