Clare General Hospital
Description
You are standing outside Clare General Hospital, a large white-stone building with revolving doors.
You are inside Clare General Hospital. It was one of the last to be evacuated, and seems to have been cleared out in a hurry.
History
Clare General Hospital was a rather prestigous hospital in Earletown before the outbreak. It had a stream of people suffering from work-related stress due to the local office building, drunks overdrinking at the Acourt Arms, and wounded firemen from Stoy Avenue Fire Station.
The hospital was deserted shortly after outbreak, due to an unfortunate course of events, when the entire staff was infected and turned to zombies during one bloody night. Later, it was visited by many passing scavengers in pursuit of first-aid kits or brains.
For some time now, the hospital is in care of a local pro-survival group, Zombra's Pub, who try hard to keep it running and staffed, so that a survivor in need can find shelter there. Also, in times of trouble, members of Hyper-Umbrella Corporation can be seen assisting members of Zombra's Pub in fending off hordes.
In more recent times, it fell under the protection of the Acourt Arms Alliance.
Barricade Policy
Per the Earletown Barricade Plan, this building should be set to EHB+4.
Current Status
The current status of the building presented as news by survivors.
- November 2nd, 2010 The building has seen its share of trick'n'treaters during the Halloween, who were banging at its barricades incessantly. Survivors managed to keep them out, however, with little to no losses of stale candy stockpiles. --Tybalt Peroni 12:25, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- October 13th, 2010 The tides have turned again. In what locals believe is a prelude to big attack, zombies have ruined Clare. With both hospitals in the suburb ruined, getting FAKs will slow survivors down. --Tybalt Peroni 09:14, 13 October 2010 (BST)
- October 10th, 2010 Clare is in human hands now. EHB, we have a generator too. --Gorra Metalera 14:56, 10 October 2010 (GMT-3)
- Nov. 26, 2009. Confirmed, Claire has fallen.--Taco2 14:40, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- November 6th, 2009 - The MOB, fresh from the destruction of the nearby Etheldreda General Hospital, continue to lay waste to the center of Earletown. The hospital itself was attacked and ruined by a dozen zombies. -- Kittithaj 20:51, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- September 24th, 2009 - Hospital has been rebuilt, barricaded and powered. --Tybalt Peroni 14:39, 24 September 2008 (BST)
Hospital Facilities
Here is a list of the available facilities and treatments in use at the Hospital. Please note that it will be difficult to serve patients depending on the current Hospital status, and if the staff themselves are (un)dead.
Hospital Policies
Health and Safety
This Hospital operates to the following set of health and safety standards set by the Malton Hospitals Group:
- Try to keep this Hospital powered and fueled at all times.
- Keep this Hospital Zombie-free, they do tend to eat the patients.
- Repair barricade damage when possible, keep at VSB+2.
- Nobody is low priority. We're all in this together; the Level-1 starter you save today could be the one to headshot the Zombie chewing on your arm a few months later.
- If there are staff to spare, make local ambulance runs to support survivors outside the Hospital.
- Keep a radio inside the building, and please transmit on the dedicated frequency, 27.31 MHz.
Healing in times of Siege
In times of heavy siege, first aid kits can become scarce and so this is the order for healing patients, should things begin to look dire. Please adhere to this plan:
- Heal those infected by zombie bites first
- Heal active players (especially if they have just killed a Zombie)
- Heal those with less than 25HP so they are not targeted as "wounded" by zombies
- Heal those with less than 13HP so they cannot be dragged out into the street should the barricades come crashing down.
Staff are expected to heal and fight until they have only a few reserve AP for escape to nearby safe-houses.
