20070514 character spawning

Bebopking 06:17, 14 May 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
Improvement.

Suggestion scope
Newbies.

Suggestion description
umm, i was thinking. when you start a new charicter you spawn in a random suburb, right? but think of this. new charicters should only spawn in a suburb that has other humans or zombies in it. under this rule if there are zero humans in a suburb then no new level one humans would be spawned inside the boundries of that suburb. same with zombies. this would only affect long term game play and allow groups to take terratory and keep it untill someone came in and reclaimed it. think about it...

Keep Votes

  1. Keep As this will only disqualify suburbs with absolutely zero players from the opposition, there'll still be plenty of interesting spawns. And you could still spawn in Ridleybank, if there's at least one survivor in there, possibly passing through, or an actualt reclamation attempt. - BzAli 13:15, 16 May 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep - A small helping hand for newbies. And Saluton, long before that Kevan will have intervened.--Vista +1 18:01, 18 May 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - The game does something like this already, but it's more complex and has a little random factor so you won't always be really safe after creating a new character. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 09:38, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill Same as above --JudeMaverick 10:16, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill Nah. I like the entire 'Bad luck, you're screwed' moments. My poor little survivor spawned as a civilian in one of the most hevily zombie controlled suburbs of the city. It happens.--Seventythree 12:56, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill How often are people spawning that this is an issue? My last few spawns have had very interesting (almost eerily so) locations, so I say don't mess with it. --Seb_Wiers VeM 13:02, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - I think newbies will learn a lot about the game when they die early. I know I did, learned half the terms like revive points and zeds. --Heavy DDR 13:19, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - And what happens if the unlikely eventuality comes to pass that only one suburb still has survivors in it? Or even only 4 or 5. This would allow players/zergers to quickly churn out hundreds of low level meat shields in the event that zombies are well organized enough to take over most of the map. And if they are, this is not the solution to game balance. --Saluton 14:43, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - It's well intended, but I feel the same as Saluton. --Poodle of doom 18:53, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - Good points raised above, and to me, it doesn't really seem to add anything. --Rgon 19:27, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill - Pointless. Can't say much as Saluton already said what i was thinking. It's nice to see you care about the Newbs though.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 02:34, 15 May 2007 (BST)
  10. As all those above me. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 13:42, 17 May 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill - I like being spawned in the worst possible locations. --User:Axe27/Sig 00:07, 20 May 2007 (BST)
