Suggestion type

Zombie Skill Addition

Suggestion scope

With sufficient numbers, zombie infection hampers FAK healing

Suggestion description

Mainly this is meant as a minor additional effect of the infected bite skill, as well as making it now also a zombie horde skill.

Whenever a living survivor uses a FAK when at a location that contains 50 or more zombies, then the FAK's healed amount will be reduced by 1 or 2 points!

  • FAK heals are reduced by 1 point as long as at least 50 standing zombies are present, and at least 5 of them have infected bite.
  • FAK heals are reduced by 2 points if all the same above requirements are met and at least 25 zombies present have infected bite. (Not a good place to stop shooting, for very long...)
  • The survivors have no way of knowing how many of the zombies present are infected (yet), consider that an extension of zombie anonymity. But the smell, and terror is probably a lot worse...
  • The FAK healing reduction has no effect on the healing of non-living zombies with an FAK. Healing zombies with an FAK (if allowed) is done normally. (So you can't xp farm by healing massive zombie hordes, due to them being particularly gangrenous.)

If you have the survivor skills that increase your FAK heals (such as first aid, and surgery) then -1 or -2 to your FAK heals are not of much importance (to you.) Mind you if there are 50+ zombies in your hospital, well.. good luck!

Promotes some new dirty tactics zombies might use (get into the safehouse with all the zombies you can as quickly as you can, get the infected ones to stand up quicker.) Definately would make survivors notice the change in healing effectiveness as soon as it occurs.

Survivors might be more or less inclined to dump bodies depending on how combat is going (or the stench!)

It adds more of an element of danger to a zombie attack, depending on how things go, maybe you don't have enough FAK's to survive this...

This won't affect the server much, as it affects FAK use at the location, not targeting specific players. The computer just keeps track of the FAK modifier for this location of 0, -1 or -2 (and even then only if the FAK heals a living target!)

  2. eh? - "Also, I just don't like the canadian flag." I'll show you! You don't get very many keeps do you, MrAushvitz? --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 06:45, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  3. oh canada - you're just jealous of their flag. >:(--Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 07:38, 14 August 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Work on it, but it has promise... BoboTalkClown 18:00, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - Bad idea. No justification offered for why this effect is supposed to occur. --The Hierophant 03:08, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - I didn't catch the drift regarding how this would make the game more fun. --JS Leone 03:51, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - As a zombie, I support it. But it just doesn't feel right, as has been said. The infection isn't airborne, and if it was, it would do more than that. Find a zombie buff, not a survivor nerf --Druuuuu 03:52, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - Not bad, but I just don't care much for the idea. And welcome back Mr. A.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 04:11, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - I WANT to like this idea, but to get my keep vote, it would have to be both realistic/logical AND fun/cool. This half-fails both of those. --Steakfish 06:25, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - Zombies have enough "dirty tactics" as it is. Besides, this would really hurt new players who are trying to heal themselves from an infection, and dont have first-aid yet. It is an interesting idea though.--Dr Doom86 06:56, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - Iv'e got nothing againgst the Canadian flag, I just don't like this.--Seventythree 12:02, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill- I don't think that any more bonuses should be added for the bite attack. It has plenty of effects already. Not to mention, it makes no sense and screws up survivors. --ToastrlordT TSA 18:49, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  10. Kill - This just doesn't work for me, nevermind it is a straight up survivor nerf --Ryiis 20:59, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill - As Druuuuu and Steakfish. --Mold 22:13, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  12. KIll - Wow... I come back to UD after a long absence and see that MrA has improved when making suggestions! (This one gets a kill not a spam.) Like most people I fail to see the narrative, and while the idea isn't horribly broken I've gotta agree with the "buff zombies, don't nerf humans" sentiment. But the general idea of making hordes more dangerous is something I fully support. - David Malfisto 22:20, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  13. Kill! KILL!!!! - I don't like this idea because it needs work! --Evildemon989 Talk · Help · W! · P! · SU! · TJ! · Hai! 00:46, 15 August 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - This suggestion doesn't make sense to me. No justification behind effect and does not improve gameplay. --Pdeq 03:22, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Spam -Basically just screwing survivors of their one advantage during a siege. also no reason why first aid kits will be affected by 50 zombies--dasoldierguy 10:45, 13 August 2007 (EST)
  3. Spam Interesting way to make First Aid more useful. But, as other said, there is no justification for why this would happen. Also, this is zerge bait (I thought about voting kill, but the zerge issue changed that)--Pesatyel 04:24, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam Hm...no non-author keeps, 4 spams... SPAMINATE IT, PLEASE! Also, I just don't like the canadian flag. That's why I'm voting spam. :) Nalikill 04:47, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Dupe/Spam - Reaper with no name suggested something similar a while back, but I'm not going to bother looking it up. Also, I hate the idea anyway, so I'll leave it at a spam.--Labine50 MHG|MEMS 07:03, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Spam - For all the above reasons. --The Grimch Mod-U! 08:46, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Spam - No. just no --~~~~T''' 09:29, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Spam - No justification for the effect. --Midianian 11:53, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Spam Oh Canada, why must we spaminate Mr.Aushvits? No harm ment but spam it is. --Jack13 10:18, 14 August, 2007
  10. Spam - Just a zombie buff with no justification or explanation ... --Saluton 15:39, 14 August 2007 (BST)
  11. Spam - A bad idea with an even worse write-up. What exactly do you mean by "this has no effect on non-living zombies". Aren't all zombies "non-living?". -- Pavluk 00:07, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  12. Spam a bit Eh? from me (even though I am a zombie mainly). Charon Xeno 19:34, 20 August 2007 (BST)
  13. Spam If a FAK can handle an infection from a bite (when the infection is already INSIDE the character), without a problem, it isn't going to have issues because there is some greenie with Infected Bite standing outside the building. Too difficult a question, too little time... --Driaquer 01:32, 27 August 2007 (BST)
