Infections Suggestion description
Because of the complicated nature of the previous version, I have resubmitted this, hope it's not too complicated.

  • News Description: After a long quarantine, the infectious zombies disease has now become deadlier and requires more medical attention.
  • The new infection mechanics change infection to a property of it's own, completely unrelated to hp. This new mechanic will use a % instead of a regular old infection.
  • To cause an infection: As it is still now, to cause an infection would remain the same. The % however would be different, the first infected bite will cause a 10% infection, and a 5% infection for every bite after (ex. 5 bites would cause 30% infection).
  • Performing actions: When performing an action and infected, one will gain a 2% infection.

Curing an infection: To cure the infection there will be a new drop-down menu beside FAKs called cure infection. Curing an infection will cure the infection (To a degree) but will not restore hp.

  • One FAK will cure 25% infection
  • One FAK will cure 50% infection with first-aid
  • Surgery fully cures infection status.

  • Special Conditions: If someone is infected beyond 70% then the infection will be unaffected by anyone without first-aid (ex. if noob tried to cure an 80% infection it wouldn't do anything) Also if someone is infected above 90% then they have to have surgery to be cured of their infection.
  • Curing infections grants the healer 5xp
  • Surgery will fully cure any infection.
  • Determining infection status: To determine an infection status one must posess diagnosis, it will then be displayed as a % beside the infected's name.

Now in an attempt to be sure that this can be understood I'm going to explain in short, simple bits-

  • Infected bites cause a 10% infection, and a 5% increase in infection for every bite thereafter.
  • Noobs (People w/o first aid) will heal 25% of an infection.
  • People with first aid will heal 50% of an infection.
  • Surgery fully cures an infection.
  • If an infection is higher than 70%, it requires a person with first-aid to heal it, attempts made by noobs (people w/o first-aid) to cure infections higher than 70% will result in a loss of a FAK and 1 ap.
  • If an infection is higher than 90%, it can only be cure by surgery.

Heres an example for understanding-

  • Bryant was bitten and fleed the Blackmore building in the middle of a siege. While running away his infection climbed to 76%. His buddy, tokan the doctor, tried to cure his infection but only ended up losing his FAK and 1 ap because he didn't have first-aid. Tokan came back the next day with first-aid and brought Bryant's infection down to 76%, unfortunatly tokan was on his last ap, so he couldn't cure the infection fully until the next day. In that time bryant spent his ap clearing out his safehouse of a zombie and barricading it, briging his infection all the way back up to 85%. Bryant panicked and free ran to the nearest hospital to look for some FAKs (not knowing it wouldn't help him) and this brought his infection up to 95%. Finally, uno, the surgeon, completely cured Bryant's infection.

That is the best I can explain my suggestion, hope it's not too complicated

Note:When you reach 100% infection you become a zombie

Keep Votes

  1. Keep Author Vote, hope this isn't too complicated, also could someone fix this thing please?(The template or w/e) --El Rose 02:46, 4 September 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - I get the feeling it'd be easier to kill and then revive a badly infected person than bother doing surgery on them... --Pgunn 05:09, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - As Nalikill said in the spam section below. He's right on the money. --Sonofagun18 05:41, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - I only sign Kill and not Spam because you obviously put some effort into this. However, that was not enough. You would do well if you withdrew your suggestion and took it to the discussion page where people would be able to help you. -- John RubinT! ZG FER 11:46, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - as John rubin. I can see what you want to do, but I doubt you'll find a good version of this.-- Vista  +1  13:10, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - as John Rubin. You did put effort into this, but it does need more work --Ryiis 14:44, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - You out alot of work into this idea, and it's interesting, but like it has been said, simplicity is key. Barrylocke 16:12, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - I don't like the special conditions. The fact that you wouldn't heal HP at the same time changes the game too much and complicates things. Also, I think you should die at 100% instead of just turning into a zombie, would at least give players the chance to dump your body. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 16:22, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - It's already hard enough on a survivor when he's been bitten. --Medico 22:08, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill, kill, kill, swiftly put the poor infected bastard out of his misery before he turns - Overly convoluted and overly over-powered, and overall not overly a good idea. Over and out. --WanYao 22:42, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  10. It's ok- But too strong. And complicated. Major edits could fix this. BoboTalkClown 23:47, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill - Useless and convoluted, a simplified version could work --Themanwhocares4 13:49, 9 September 2007 (BST)
  12. KILL First off: Good Effort. However, this involves the taboo of Instakill, and also makes Infected Bite insanely powerful (when hit with multiple), as you'd need to use a ton of FAKs- to cure the infection and to heal yourself back up. It also, by my understanding, makes them insanely weak when you were only bit once. ~A`Blue`JellyTME*V*I*L*? 00:39, 16 September 2007 (BST)
  13. Kill - Chance of infection is dumb, teeth already only have a 40% chance to hit when maxed.--Karekmaps?! 10:14, 18 September 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Wait... What does the infection actually do? You have a whole lot of percentages up there, say it doesn't deal with HP, and then don't tell us what it actually does... I'm confused... - Bop 02:51, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  2. Dammit! It was better the first time (even then, it was ridiculously complicated). USE THE DEVELOPING SUGGESTIONS PAGE! --Steakfish 02:56, 4 September 2007 (BST)
I would like to conclude by saying "Good ideas tend to be elegant in their simplicity." --Steakfish 03:51, 4 September 2007 (BST)
RE:roflmao, I had mentioned this in the original suggestion but I guess some people just need clarification, when your infection reaches 100% you become a zombie. Silly --El Rose 02:54, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  3. K.I.S.S.I believe the 'keep it simple stupid' principle applies here. This is incredibly overcomplicated, creates an entirely new system where one is not needed. If you want to change bite, you can very easily work within the existing system. God bless you man, but this isn't a very good suggestion. Brevity is the soul of wit and all that. Nalikill 03:41, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam, trash this - Upon reconsideration, I vote this as overpowered spam. See here. Zombie bites are powerful enough and this doesn't even require the purchase of another skill or anything to gain such a strong ability. --Slightly Lions 07:54, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  5. Spam - Enormously one-sided, would unbalance the game. -- Pavluk 09:11, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  6. Spam - not finished, superflous additions --~~~~ [Talk] 10:45, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  7. Spam - Finish it first. Also, overcomplicated systems make it harder for new players, and for old players who have to adapt to a new system. --Saluton 15:46, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  8. WTF..? - This is overpowered, overcomplicated, and mean to people without medical skills. Even though I have a zombie character, I really would not like this. --Hhal 20:17, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  9. Overcomplicated -Current infection: does 1 damage for any action except speaking. This one takes multiple paragraphs. You do realize they'd probably put this ENTIRE thing on the skills page if it got implemented? --AlexanderRM 02:10, 6 September 2007 (BST)
  10. Er...this is Urban Dead...not Resident Evil... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 23:11, 6 September 2007 (BST)
