20071025 Survivors Notice Over-barricading
Roger Thirnell 00:36, 25 October 2007 (BST)
Suggestion type
New survivor notification.
Suggestion scope
Survivors inside buildings.
Suggestion description
Survivors inside a building should be notified when somebody else builds the barricades past vsb+2. Otherwise, it's impossible to find and punish the Death Cultists and mischief-makers who do such things.
I credit over-barricading by Zombie sympathizers as a reason Fort Perryn just fell. Survivors inside the fort were unable to get out to defend the surrounding NTs, and survivors outside the fort were unable to get in to restock ammo. While this was a brilliant tactic on the part of the zombies, the rules should be amended to give survivors a defense against this happening again.
After all, there's no reason people shouldn't be able to see when others mess with the barricades, right?

Keep Votes
- Keep, with the ability to disable even though it's probably a dupe - Because overcaders annoy me. They can continue overcading but I want the opportunity to hit them with a crowbar instead of having to hit the barricades.Studoku 00:52, 25 October 2007 (BST)

- Kill - No. Autonmity is good. --User:Axe27/Sig 00:37, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- I don't understand --Roger Thirnell 00:38, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- Death Cultists should not be punished for RPing. This punishes them for it. --User:Axe27/Sig 00:41, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- Ok, what if I want to roleplay? Unfortunately, the fact that I can't see when somebody messes with my 'cades is making that hard. It's obvious you'd be able to see if somebody touched the barricades in real life.--Roger Thirnell 00:50, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- Right. Realism is not a factor in this game, seeing as we have the undead walking the streets. That and Survivors are not punished for RPing. Your arguement is crap. --User:Axe27/Sig 01:08, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- If you want to RP a Death Cultist, it's part of the job that people who want to survive will be hunting you down. To keep the present lack of notifications wouldn't help Death Cultists roleplay, it would harm them, because it's just too easy to get away with. If you want to be a Death Cultist and overcade, you should have to deal with the logical consequences, which is people running after you trying to kill you.

- Kill - I know where your coming from with this, I have a greifer who's spraypainting lies about me and I don't have any idea who it is, but having the game inform you whenever someone changes something just causes spam and none of us want that. --Sonofagun18 07:01, 25 October 2007 (BST)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Kilupe - Sorry, but this has been thought up before. Also, overbarricading is an unfortunate part of the game. Think of it as panicking survivors reacting to a bunch of zombies outside, or an evil death cultist trying to imprison those inside.-- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 00:39, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- I searched all the pages I was supposed to. Yes, overbarricading is a part of the game, but, I mean, come on, you can't notice when somebody overbarricades? Isn't that unrealistic?--Roger Thirnell 00:50, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- You really can't win with the unrealism argument. This is a zombie game, zombies are highly impossible. And I didn't mention as to how a man can withstand 10 shotgun blasts to the face? As for the dupe... its there. Someone always finds it.-- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 00:53, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- So, let me get this straight, we've got zombies that can open doors and talk, but I can't see when somebody touches my barricades? Would it sway your vote if I changed it so that you have to press a button and be actively watching the barricades? That way there could be guards, or something.--Roger Thirnell 01:00, 25 October 2007 (BST)

- Does it mean anything that the most recent one is undecided? What does that mean? --Roger Thirnell 02:46, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- It doesn't matter if the suggestion is undecided, reviewed or rejected. As long as the suggestion is similar, it can be counted as a dupe.-- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 04:06, 25 October 2007 (BST)Non author RE.--Karekmaps?! 07:22, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- Undecided means it didn't get a 2/3rds majority in kill or keep. It's still usable to dupe.--Karekmaps?! 07:22, 25 October 2007 (BST)

- Spam - You can already notice when a building has been overbarricaded: Just look at the barricade level. Want to know who did it? Tough. That would serve as just another excuse for trenchy griefing. --The Hierophant 03:26, 25 October 2007 (BST)
- Spam - And now we need to know radio/generator damaging, people entering, exiting, shooting each other, healing each other, and finding things. Because in real life, you would notice that.--Wooty 03:49, 25 October 2007 (BST)
