Beer and Wine stains

Timestamp: WanYao 04:40, 8 August 2008 (BST)
Type: flavour
Scope: survivors only, i think...
Description:

  • [23:28] <safetyinnumbers> You break the wine bottle over Jerry2's head for 3 damage. They die.
  • [23:31] <William_Schneider> if you attack someone with a wine bottle, do their clothes becomewine-stained?

No.... But they bloody well should!

This suggestion is pretty simple. Much like hitting someone with a fuel can, when you hit with a target with a beer or wine bottle, you have a 50% chance of staining their clothes with the beverage, and a message would appear in the target's profile description. The different kinds of stains would "stack", for example you could have a "blook-soaked and beer-stained blue shirt". There would be different levels "stainage", very much like blood-stained clothes.

The article of clothing stained would be random, with those covering larger body parts having a higher % chance of getting stained, i.e. coats, pants, shirts etc. would be most likely. And ties... ties ALWAYS get wine on them, sigh. These %ages would be decided by Kevan.

Note that the success %age is higher than with fuel tanks (i.e., 50%) because bottles are one-shot attacks. Also, note that zombies can attack with bottles!

How would one remove said Beer stains? Techercizer (Food) (TSoE) 04:47, 8 August 2008 (BST)

I seem to vaguely remember that it's possible to remove blood stains with wine? ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 04:48, 8 August 2008 (BST)

lolz @ Rev ... And Techerciser, you can't remove fuel stains. Same here. You need to replace the clothing. --WanYao 04:51, 8 August 2008 (BST)
Vodka? Can't remember if it's a true myth or not. Ask the Mythbusters... --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 04:52, 8 August 2008 (BST)
The Many Uses of Vodka... Sadly, vodka is not officially in Urban Dead. That will be my next suggestion?? --WanYao 04:55, 8 August 2008 (BST)
I'm pretty sure it's already been suggested. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 12:39, 8 August 2008 (BST)

Perhaps a new subset of scent death, called scent drunk? Allows zombies to scent the alcohol soaked player from 3 blocks away... Just kidding. But I do think this is a good suggestion. How about a chance that the attackers gets alcohol on him? %50 for the one being hit, %25 for the one swinging? - Tylerisfat 05:42, 8 August 2008 (BST)

Actually I loooooove the idea of a crossover new skill, Scent Booze! We could have a new Boozehound class! That'd rawk. But, anyway, you can't get fuel on yourself when you attack with it, so I think this should work the same way. --WanYao 06:55, 8 August 2008 (BST)

Any way they are going to interact with blood stains? I know people would love to have blood and beer-stained clothing. ~AriedartinTalkA KS J abt all 07:36, 8 August 2008 (BST)

I'm assuming the beer and wine found in Malton wouldn't have enough alcohol-content to burn? Meaning that flares wouldn't cause double damage. Oh, and zombies can use bottles as weapons. Also, maybe there could be a chance for spilling alcohol on yourself when drinking? --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 12:39, 8 August 2008 (BST)

How would booze stains interact with blood stains? They don't. Basically, the different kinds of stains would "stack". For example you could have a "blook-soaked and beer-stained blue shirt". Perhaps we should brainstorm some "stainage levels" for booze, based on the blood-stainage levels? Also, Midianian, no. If I'd intended it to burn, I'd have said so: this is for flavour only. And while I like the idea of spilling on yourself, my gut tells that's making it a bit too complicated and out of the scope of the idea. I want to keep it as simple and straightforward as possible. --WanYao 14:33, 8 August 2008 (BST)

So does that mean no differentiation between light and regular beer? - tylerisfat 17:03, 8 August 2008 (BST)

Ok, I edited the suggestion. I have just one thought: should the chance of stainage be lowered, say to 33%, even 25%? Bottles are fairly easy to come by, and I don't want this to be TOO griefy... Thoughts?

I don't think it's that big a deal. The wine doesn't hurt them, and it's not like they can't just go get new clothes. --JaredTalk W! P! 01:48, 9 August 2008 (BST)
And people are already getting blood stained. Its not really something that can be avoided. And no one really runs around attacking with wine bottles, anyway. - tylerisfat 05:56, 9 August 2008 (BST)
But assuming this goes through, tons of people WILL be grabbing some bottles just for the LOLz of making instant hobos of their friends and enemies alike. I know I will be!! ;P --WanYao 10:06, 9 August 2008 (BST)

Typo

Sorry if I'm being pedantic, but this line:

The different kinds of stains would "stack", for example you could have a "blook-soaked and beer-stained blue shirt". There would be different levels "stainage", much like blood-stained clothes.

It's spelling is "blood"
