'Burb's hospitals are under heavy attack. Mobs of 30+ Zeds. I'm currently pinned down in the PD getting ammo. I've already killed and tossed 2 zeds out of St Deusdedit's today and fixed the ransacking. I can't barricade yet, though. Guys, we've gotta help FAST. People are losing hope and getting desperate. Some of the NT Techs were so desperate that they started combat reviving to get rid of the zeds...
I'm still getting ammo, but as soon as I can, I'm going to go check on the Hospital again. Godspeed, guys. They need us now!--Echo 02:59, 26 June 2007 (BST)

Things aren't looking good. We need backup, fast. With the mall/fort siege over, we're getting swamped. And most of the other survivors in this area aren't too bright. To top it off, PKers are now roaming too, due to combat revives being used at the sieges...we need new members and we need to fight smarter, not harder. For starters, don't sleep in PDs or Hospitals. And second, don't leave any building ransacked if you can help it. No matter how many times you see a building get swarmed, if you can, headshot the 'zeds, dump the bodies, repair the room, 'cade it as much as you can afford, and get the hell outta there! At least it'll allow new survivors without free running to not sleep on the streets. Every one of 'em that dies is another 'zed to deal with...--Echo 21:30, 13 July 2007 (BST)

Yeah I'll 2nd that, are you on the forum? if not tell me and i'll e-mail you the adress. We need to come up with a plan and fast. Kiddy 14:00, 14 July 2007 (BST)

Barricade Plan

Input is expected to be given in order to shape the cade plan Kiddy 13:00, 14 April 2007 (BST)

Comments:

  • I know we're not too active in the suburb (yet? hmm...), but in my humble opinion, I like the partial barricade plan on the Edgecombe page but I believe it needs to be finished. This one changes many things I believe make Edgecombe better tactically. --Benigno SSZ RCC 04:15, 7 May 2007 (BST)
Perhaps giving your opinion may be of more help, for example what changes could be made Kiddy 22:59, 7 May 2007 (BST)
Oh of course. I can get into more details later if you like, but generally, a good barricade plan has a few key things. One is evenly spaced revive points, I really like how edgecombe's are layed out. However most buildings in a city should remain VSB to keep the suburb friendly for low-level players. There should be strategically placed EHB safehouses. Each NT should be EHB and have an entry point in one of the connecting buildings. Other resource buildings should definitely be kept VSB, especially police stations. Note the value of warehouses and auto repair shops as well, and try to keep them VSB or a healthy mix of VSB/EHB. If you check out the plans for Roftwood, Pimbank, and Tollyton you'll sorta see what I'm talking about. I designed the latter two so you can see where i'm coming from with those. However all those suburbs have malls in them which changes things significantly. I'd be more than willing to help finalize a barricade plan for Edgecombe as well! --Benigno SSZ RCC 01:12, 8 May 2007 (BST)
Yeah i mean all buildings follow the universal 'cade plans unless otherwise stated. The NTs should always remain at EHB. As for the PDs perhaps keeping one of the 2 central ones at EHB and one at VSB. Perhaps Pavuy plaza being the one at EHB. Kiddy 12:50, 8 May 2007 (BST)
sounds good to me. In Roftwood we have 1-2 police stations at EHB. (officially 2, but Joyner Blvd switches back and forth sometimes). The overall idea is to balance EHB safety and VSB accessibility. --Benigno SSZ RCC 16:18, 8 May 2007 (BST)
I think we should have Vale Towers be a VSB building due to the St.Luarence hospital. Also the baxtor building is frequently overbarricaded so us sciguys should a least have a second entrance--Mastergurosp 00:19, 22 May 2007 (BST)
Yeah good idea. I forgot about Vale Towers. If someone could tag them to say they have to be VSB? Kiddy 20:31, 22 May 2007 (BST)

I've made my own sugggested barricade plan -->here<--. All are welcome to comment. --Benigno SSZ RCC 00:54, 25 May 2007 (BST)

Hi, I sent an email through to the hotmail address but as I've not received a reply I just thought I'd post here instead. I'm going to set up as the landlord of the Clatworthy Arms, keeping the place EHB and helping out where else I can, so seeing as you guys have the same outlook and meet at the Arms on occaision so I'm joining up. Come round for a drink anytime you get the thirst! --Co fragment 20:20, 26 April 2007 (BST)

  • Yeah, sorry about that, i have replied to the e-mail now. I've been a bit busy in RL... Kiddy 23:37, 30 April 2007 (BST)

Hey, I'm looking to join up...EchoEnder, a police officer. I'm currently staging recon and raiding from the Cape Avenue PD...this area's tricky to get around because I'm new and don't have Free Running yet, but once I get it, I'll be willing to hop around and reinforce barricades/give first aid/scavenge. Right now, I'm outta ammo and I'm kinda locked out of most of the ammo-supplying buildings due to my lack of Free Running, so getting the level is kinda tricky, but I'll figure something out...

Yeah, awesome. Thanks for your interest. We'll see what we can do about your leveling as soon as i get back to Edgecombe (left for the running man) give me an e-mail on either of the adresses on the page so i can contact you outside of the wiki. Also can i have your UD ID? (the link at the the top of your profile page) Thanks -- Kiddy 02:15, 22 June 2007 (BST)
I've made it into the Cape Avenue PD. I'm using it as my base of operations...mostly scavenging ammo, though. Hard to level without ammo...but yeah, I've got it more or less under control now. I think I'll buy Pistol Training before I get Free running...should make the leveling easier. Oh...and the zeds are starting to horde in the northeast corner of the 'burb.-- Echo

Hey, are you still recruiting? I'd like to join, seeing as I seem to be hanging around edgecombe a lot recently, generally jumping around between st. louis' hospital and chanter alley pd. Me. Cncplyr2 14:51, 23 June 2008 (BST)

Current activities, plans, status, ect

I haven't had much word from the other ECF members in the area lately, so I figured I'd add an area that we can use to check up on each other here. We've gotta stay coordinated or we'll be lunch.

So far, I hit lvl 2 and took Pistol Training. I should be able to actually hit some targets and level now, once I scrounge up some ammo. Next up is:

Free Running -> Advanced Pistol Training -> Construction -> Diagnosis -> First Aid -> Bodybuilding. Sound good?

Oh, and aside from a barricade plan and such, what exactly are we doing in this 'burb?--Echo 01:21, 25 June 2007 (BST)

Our main goals in the Suburb are to hold the key buildings that benefit the survival of all Edgecombe Residents. An example of these would be the PDs, the hospitals, the NT buildings, The Factory and Southcott Plaza Firestation. Along side all of this we try to maintain the barricade plan and keep the NTs clear and powered so other groups and survivors can make revives faster. We also try to heal any injured or infected survivors we come across, Fellow Edgecombe Families members taking priority. We try to do revives ourselfs but holding the buildings so other people can seems like a sounder strategy at this point --- Kiddy 18:23, 1 July 2007 (BST)

Again, hospitals are taking heavy flak from the zeds. We've gotta put more effort into taking them down. Having Zombie Hunters to headshot any zeds near the hospitals might help...--Echo 02:25, 2 July 2007 (BST)

heathen at frightfan, a high-level PKer, has been on a PKing spree, freerunning into PDs and killing survivors. I recommend taking him down on sight.--Echo 20:05, 11 July 2007 (BST)
