This is a great idea. I'm really looking forward to this. However, you gave two different electronic mail addresses. I used the one mentioned above.--Bishop Vagancia I 22:47, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
The Player Killer Hub
This sounds intriguing indeed. There have been a couple of things like this so far: see both Battle Royales and Logans Run, but I'd like to get involved. We can offer forum hosting for the event and some damn good publicity too; likely several folks on the forums will be up for it. Good day! --Karloth Vois TALK RR 20:11, 9 May 2008 (BST)
Questions
"Between matches, both competitors are given 24 hours to heal themselves and re-supply inside Buckley mall. After both competitors are given 24 hours they are to report to the referee on their side of the field.
Referees will be located at 50,91 The Howlett Hotel , and at 59,99 The William Arms in Wyke Hills, or the nearest possible safehouse.
After reporting to their respective referee, neither opponent is to re-enter Buckley mall, until the round is over. Entering the mall or leaving the field of play will result in a loss. Failing to report will also result in a loss.
Being killed by a person or zombie from outside the competition will be counted as a loss."
Okay, so I understand that the referee's being notified ingame rather than on a forum with a screenshot is for clarity of when a match has ended, but how are you going to make sure that a) people don't go into a mall and restock once they've restarted the match, and b) not been killed between one match and another by a third party, and simply received a very fast revive (mall revives are really fast and a dedicated reviver helping them would be even faster) in between the referee's active time?
Another thing, why would death by zombie or third party be a loss? I can't imagine certain extremely deadly PKers winning this, simply because they've currently riled up one or two flagrant, shameless, and many-alted zergers, or they've got their own personal train of Bounty Hunters following their every step, and this contest inhibits the ability to hide from long-term stalkers properly. And then, if, on top of this, a zombie horde happens to eat the burb, sorry, eats half the city overnight, killing everyone, awarding the PKer a loss seems a bit...off. Especially if both PKers are killed by third parties in the same night.
Just some concerns. PerpetuallyDead 05:14, 14 May 2008 (BST)
- RE: Concerns Unfortunately some of your concerns cannot really be prevented. Alone from the fact that other competitors may report any behavior that is against the rules. In additon, although not perfect, the Cup does rely on the use of the honour system.
- to Clarify, competitors report at the begining of the match, to notify referees the hunt has begun.
- Third party kills. The reason for this rule is that teh Cup Champion is awarded the title of Apex Predator, and allowing yourself to become a lower link in the food chain removes you from predator status. If the burb, or half the city were eatin overnight, there are alternate locations that can be used.
- Should both hunters be killed in the same night or day,
- a rematch may be issued, if the second match of that round has been completed or;
- if the second match for that round has not been completed, the rule will stand and the standing competitors in that division will be provided a win. the cup will then progress to the next round. Jack S13 T! PC
VZW Interest
Jack, I will spread the word among my fellow VZW members and see if I can spark any interest in the Predator's Cup. I would sign up myself, but I am out of town on the 6th, 7th and 8th. If I can miss those days and still compete let me know, and I'll register. --Shazzelim 02:02, 16 May 2008 (BST)
I gather you want a referee?
