Suggestions
These are suggestions I put up / am considering / whatever.. If not to work on, for the permanent record And of course all to talk about :D
The Plague
Timestamp: | 19:20, 8 September 2006 (BST) |
Type: | New Game Element |
Scope: | Survivors |
Description: | Malton has dead bodies lying around everywhere (and walking for that matter). For weeks already. Rotting corpses tend to breed bacteria, so it d be a nice touch if there were a breakout of .. .. lets say the black plague for example. A Highly contagious one :)
The Disease..
I understand this would be tough on all survivors, but :) Life is tough :) And the fact that it isn't easy is all the more rewarding! Disclaimer: If this resembles any old ideas or whatever, my Sincere apologies |

- Author Keep - This d be Great Fun :) --Dgn 19:20, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- Keep - I made a number of "rotten corpse" type suggestions relating to zombies possibly "infecting" people who handle them, static chance since they gain XP for moving bodies. But it would be nice to see an "outdoors" effect.. health wise survivors being trapped indoors with nasty corpses just outside.. hot summer days, bad mix. Nice barricades, 3rd world living conditions. I think that being inside a "powered" building should protect survivors inside a bit.. But I agree, time all those dead bodies on the street got in the damn game, and "did" something! Cheapest way to deal with it is burning, to be honest... maybe this idea in tandem with mass burnings of bodies may be reasonable. (Witch Hunters would vote keep on that action!) --MrAushvitz 19:30, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- Spam - And this is why - a griefer / PKer / Zombie-Spy can pick up the disease on purpose, then infect 20% of the people in a mall. Five of them get together, and infect 100% of the people in a mall. Goodnight Gracie. Or, to put it another way, you've just given a human an infectious bite that auto-hits 20% of everyone they meet. --Funt Solo 19:40, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- Re: My god, Stackable 20%? That would mean that 5 survivors would also have 100%? This 20% is not stackable! --Dgn 19:48, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- Re And yet 100% remains a possibility under your scheme. --Funt Solo 19:53, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- Re It says nowhere that this 20% is stackable, so actually no. On the other hand it doesnt say it isnt, so I can understand the point. I just didn't consider anyone would think this to be stakeable. Do I really need to repost to state that this 2% and 20% are non stakeable? --Dgn 19:56, 8 September 2006 (BST)

- Spam - Overpowered, and make it fun for Christ's sake! --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC☺T☺+1 20:05, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- SPAM This is actually a Dupe of a really early version of Necrotic Symbiotes, which eventually got into Peer Review (version 3 iirc). Rheingold 20:15, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- Re: Shouldn't you vote "Dupe" then? Anywho, as in the disclaimer, Sorry.. I obviously didn't check hard enough for dupes. Edit: I dissagree (after reading the version in peer reviewed), This proposes a Plague, not a new Zombie skill --Dgn 20:38, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- Spam - This game shouldn't be about survivors focusing all of their energy on dissinfecting corspes and fighting invisible plagues. What fun would that be? Answer none. --MarieThe Grove 21:02, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- SPAM - Way too overpowering. --Axe Hack 21:05, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- Kill As above, but without the Spam vote. --Grigori 21:24, 8 September 2006 (BST)
Spaminated with 8/11 Spam votes--∴Gage 21:27, 8 September 2006 (BST)
The most important comment here is that of "Marie".. "This game shouldn't be about survivors focusing all of their energy on dissinfecting corspes and fighting invisible plagues." shows that this sugestion is not only broken, but has a wrong focus & thus doesnt even need fixing! If it were only overpowering, it might have been fixed with different numbers.
And this is why explaining your vote is so important! :)
- Why thankyou ;) --MarieThe Grove 21:57, 10 September 2006 (BST)
- Credit where Credit is due :) --Dgn 22:58, 10 September 2006 (BST)
Dupe
That duplicate that you found was made before the changes to headshot, back when headshot was a big deal. That explains the over 90% Keeps.--∴Gage 22:58, 8 September 2006 (BST)
- Interesting.. I think I 'll look for a game history one of these days.. Anywho, its still technically the same suggestion.. & Tnx for taking the time to explain this :) --Dgn 23:35, 8 September 2006 (BST)
The Last Call for Liberty
Your pledge to the V for Ridleybank cause has not gone unheard. View the last words of Codename V at the 5th of November page before the liberation of Malton's heartland. I have spoken once more to rally and excite you in this time of vengence! --Codename V 05:03, 13 October 2006 (BST)
I must ask...
Why did you sign up a fairly anarcistic group such as TVC up as supporting the above cause? I actually have a zombie wearing the TVC tag who's going to be there opposing that force. I'm glad you're spreading the word about TVC, but this is not a way that represents the group. -- Buncy T 05:25, 13 October 2006 (BST)
- Because the above cause doesnt choose a side. Theres the survivor side, out to kill the zombies & there is the Zombie side, happy that they can feast upon the living without the actual burden of looking for them. So in a way, The 5th initiative is as anarchistic as TVC.
- Furthermore, since members are free to do as they please and since there is no boss or whatever, .. I came to the conclusion that members are also free to choose TVC to support any cause their crazy mind stumbles upon. My belief was supported by the "What's your position on [insert boring issue here]?" item, where it says "so we pretty much do what we feel like when we feel like it" (and I felt like putting the name up there at that time). Even more, the "no member of TVC should be held responsible for any other member's actions" section means (as I interpret it) that the support I signed us up for does not give anyone any responsibility. We dont have any leadership, so everyone is merely a member. Meaning any support or whatever dicision made is not binding to anyone. Thereby anyone can make promisses in the name of TVC, but none of those would be binding to anyone. This is also why I did not put any "5th" tags on the TVC page.
- I can understand if you think this to be a bit over the top or whatever and if so I appologise for putting the name up. I will also gladly take it off if you want me to :)
