danger levels stuff

in the right hand table on the main suburb page there is a link says something like "Update Suburb Danger Level". Click on that and then on the "history" tab... And, check the "how to" section to learn how to edit it yourself. it's pretty straightforward. hope that answers your question. --WanYao 04:23, 22 October 2008 (BST)

Discussion Relocation

Moved from FOD Current Campaign News

Hey, Im not sure this discussion should go here, I looked into the other campaigns, and they all have blank discussion pages, I'm moving this to the diplomacy page, I plan on deleting this, unless you guys think this should stay here. Let me know what you think -- Denver  5MoC 23:52, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Technically all talk goes on the one discussion page, yes. I just really couldn't be bothered moving it :P You can if you'd like, I've noticed you're a little OCD with the wiki. -- Peter McGrady  FoD 05:39, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
hahahaha, so you saw my conversation with Ross? I guess it has its benefits, keeps stuff nice and neat. Sorry, If it becomes annoying or anything just let me know, the last thing I wanna be is a pest. Here, I already moved this to the diplomacy page, I'll delete this tomorrow. -- Denver  5MoC 06:05, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeap, I can be a wiki nerd some times, I watch a lot of pages. You're right, if you let us know that you've done it, you can do pretty much anything here. It's good to have some active members on the wiki, we're not exactly prompt in changing things here. -- Peter McGrady  FoD 16:33, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm just trying to make myself as much of an asset as I can to the group. I'll be sure to inform you guys of little minor things I do, bigger stuff I'll ask for permission first. Oh and did you get your user page figured out?-- Denver  5MoC 01:11, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Nope, I just ended up giving up in the end, it looked good to me and I couldn't tell how it looked to anyone else, so meh. I switched back to FF2 as well, didn't see any real benefits to 3, and I lost far too many of the add-ons I actually use. -- Peter McGrady  FoD 03:34, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

hahahaha, well if you want I'll tinker with it for yah, damn firefox3 users, mess everything up. Your gonna have a hard time keeping ff2, it'll try to automatically update on you alot, Ive had to reinstall ff2 like 3 times.-- Denver  5MoC 21:35, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, that's what happened last time, I must've accidently clicked "yes" to the update. I've just answered "never" to the update question this time though, and it's yet to bug me with it. I think I've fixed (or at least improved) my page. I still can't autosize pictures, but I realised I had more than one border, and the inner one was only at 70% of the screen - hence why I couldn't fix both sections which added to 85%. Is it showing properly on yours? -- Peter McGrady  FoD 05:20, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I just finagled with the autosize, and now it shows up side by side when the screen isn't restored down on my computer that has ff3. yeah and you cant really mess with the pictures, unless you can figure out what percentage of the px to reduce it by. So if your at 100px and you want it to be reduced by 25% thats 75px, sadly though in my case I'd have a number like 113px and I'd want to reduce it by 17% so it gets messy.-- Denver  5MoC 21:33, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Well nevermind, I just scrolled down, looks like cheesy answered your question, oh and why is your talk page so skinny?-- Denver  5MoC 21:43, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
I think my pages are fixed, but I still can't tell to be honest. Good point about the talk page, it just looked good when I borrowed it from Karth. I've changed it now - the skinniness was starting to shit me as well. -- Peter McGrady  FoD 05:40, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
It's side by side now. Looks good, only your templates at the bottom pull to the left. Just throw on a couple of centering commands and that should fix it. But yeah looks like problem solved, alright for conformity. -- Denver  5MoC 08:50, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
Lol, they're left on purpose, I preferred it. -- Peter McGrady  FoD 08:52, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Your Questions

Firstly, there is a list of Recent changes. Us wiki addicts use it to spy on you :P, and that's how I saw your edit over at Cheese's page.

Secondly, over at Wikipedia, there is a tool which lets you see all the pages in your namespace, but sadly, that must only come in a later version (Kevan never updates this thing.) The closest on our wiki is this which will show you all the pages in your namespace (as well as a lot of other stuff, for some reason.

As for your second question, I donno. Cheese might have an answer, if not there is always Wiki Questions.

I've got to stalk you all more often! Quick answers, and I'm "learning" things by stealing them from your pages. Cheers. -- Peter McGrady  FoD 04:18, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Try The Wiki Code Stealers ;). Linkthewindow  Talk  04:21, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

On the image front you just simply need to replace the px variable in an image call with a % variable. For example: [[Image:Example.jpg|50%]] will automatically scale to 50% of the page size. For a slightly bigger examele, the border on my userpage is set to scale to 80% of the total page size regardless of resolution. Hope that helps. =) -- Cheese 10:51, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Heh. Don't worry about it. There's a reason I keep game drama to the game-you can get into flame wars with perfectly fine people over stuff that should be kept in game. Hell, even if you killed me I would have simply ignored it (I got over my fear of Pkers a long time ago ;).) Because that was slightly incoherent, I'll clarify. Game stuff stays in game, wiki stuff says on the wiki. When that doesn't happen, bad stuff happens (like the recent Umbies drama.) Anyway, all this death is making me all depressed. Need any moar help? Linkthewindow  Talk  11:46, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

A Challenge

Original post here but for your benefit I shall post here as well. I have class until 5 hours from now. . . so if I do not respond in a timely manner I apologise.

Peter McGrady, After reviewing your posts elsewhere, I have come upon a simple decision. You thirst for a fight and think we Spartans talk too much. So I am calling you out Flower. Put your gun where your mouth is. A duel is what I propose. Just you, and me. I will not target your fellow Flower children and I ask you to spare my Spartan brothers. Just the two of us dancing that beautiful dance. I will even let you set the boundaries sir. We go at it until our thirst for battle is quenched and one yields. *Astinos87 slaps Peter with his gauntlet. What say you sir?

Good thing you posted this on my wiki or I would've missed it. To be honest, I'm not a great fan of the real-time fight. They tend to come down to two things - connection speed, and random luck with the RNG, neither of which denote skill to me. It DOES sound like fun though, and a bit of a change. Hmmmm...
One question: You noted the condition that I could not target other Spartans. Do you mean effectively entering a standing cease-fire if I accept, or is this merely for the duration of the duel so that others can watch?
I have not decided either way, but I'm willing to discuss the possibility. If we did go ahead, I think a stadium is most appropriate - allows for movement while giving an easily viewable area. Could be a cathedral/mansion or other venue if a stadium is not available. A mall would be too crowded. I would also like to suggest a second part to the duel - a one-on-one hunt over a suburb, first to a set number of kills. It's a little more my preferred style. Your thoughts?
I am glad you noted the reason I cross posted here ;)
As for the duel itself, I actually meant the second suburb wide duel as you suggested. Real time fights, in addition to the problems you noted, are a hassle to plan. I am a full time student and have mod responsibilities on several forums. None of that makes it easy for me to coordinate real time duel, and I imagine you have your own commitments. However, one of the most thrilling kills I had involved the Immortal Captain Ghost Guard, so if you are game I will entertain the notion.
For the challenge itself, I did have a alternative idea whilst in class. I already spoke my misgivings on fighting other Greeks. You speak that we talk too much and have little show it. How about a week long contest, see who comes out with the higher body count? We would both be free to target who we wish, even each other/our groups if you insist. Each kill would be confirmed with some sort of screenshot. Not that I dont trust you, but perhaps some of our comrades would raise a eyebrow if we went on our good words alone.
Any way you pick, live duel, suburb wide hunt, body count, I am interested in. If you do IRC, I am frequently on the nexuswar server under the name MagnarThomas. We could meet up in #redrum and discuss things further there. Otherwise I will check here and PKA throughout the day to see your response.
HA-OOH Peter McGrady of FoD. Whatever you choose, I look forward to it. --Gus ThomasSpartaZHU 18:29, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
Ahh yes, I'd heard of that battle, as well as one of your fellow Spartans against a Saint I believe, so I assumed you meant a real-time duel. The body-count idea is intriguing as well...
I accept, Spartan. If you would accept in turn, I believe we should begin with the real-time duel in a Stadium, and a suburb wide hunt (for one kill only). If one of us claims both victories, then the victor they shall be. If the results are even after those two conflicts, we can rely upon the body-count measure as the decider (I think we leave it to last just due to time constraints). Would you agree?
You can choose the locations for each as you threw down the gauntlet. For the duel, how does it usually work - do we choose identical weapons, or merely go by what we prefer?
I will say though, this is starting to feel like it's one blow-up creature away from "It's a knockout!" We should charge entry and pay-per-view television coverage. -- Peter McGrady  FoD 18:47, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

I see I need to check here most often.

Your terms are acceptal. Real Time duel, suburb wide hunt (for one kill), and then killing spree to settle any tie. As for location, I will not march across Malton for this throwdown, so may I suggest someplace near we are now? I am in the general vincinity of Marven/Tompson Malls. . . so either of those would work for me. As for weapons, you may feel free to come after me with whatever you wish, but if you land a killing blow with a pool cue in addition to lulz I will have to honor you for all time.

What about time? Weekends for me are crazy, I work IRL and spend most of the time I am not working sleeping. Also with family, so anytime I am awake and not working I maybe busy with them. Ideally we would have this done, atleast the real time duel, today. However, if that does not work perhaps we can do this sometime early next week. --Gus ThomasSpartaZHU 19:08, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Alrighty then, I think Clapton Stadium is probably most appropriate, right next to Pole Mall. I'll head over there to scout and reload if we have a cease-fire in the meantime. I'm afraid I can't do it today, I'm low on ammo, a good day's trip away, and in zed form - pretty much every factor against it. If you work out what times you'll be available in GMT, I'll fit as best as I can to those. Now, to go and find myself a pool cue....-- Peter McGrady  FoD 04:42, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Did a quick run past Barrville, and Floyde Stadium is currently up if that's preferred for you. -- Peter McGrady  FoD 04:48, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
My DEMer (le gasp! I know) is a Instructor up that way. Cant move Magnar up there since i do not move alts within 2 suburbs of each other. Clapton it is. Over the weekend I'll let you know when I'll be on hand next week. Pretty much anytime that I am not in class or in the middle of the night I'll be game. But now we both have time to arm up and move and such. Only complication is my proposal about Marven Mall. If that shows up next week, would you be interested in our little dance on a later date? --Gus ThomasSpartaZHU 06:00, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
We could delay it if need be. Now I have a thirst for blood though, so the sooner the better! -- Peter McGrady  FoD 06:10, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
As do I my friend. However, it seems at any given moment four of the five FoD we're engaged with is dead. While I was eager for combat, there is none to be had if you are constantly dying. Perhaps some illness came down on the city of Argives? If you can manage to breathe more then a few hours, perhaps we can go forth with our little dance. PKA does not seem interested in Marven so I'll sideline that party for now. What say you friend? --Gus ThomasSpartaZHU 16:41, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Use of strategy to deny you kills, my friend. Window-jumping has long been a favourite of ours. I'm pretty set for the duel, I had hoped to obtain more flare guns but at the current search rates, I just don't think it's possible. Shame. -- Peter McGrady  FoD 06:34, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Ahh my Argivian friend, I seek a glorious death on the battlefield. Such a tactic as you depict just seems too. . . . simple. . . .for my tastes. You may have a higher kill count, but I do believe I have been breathing far longer. As for our duel, yes I am still interested. However, a move IRL and now a 120 mile daily commute greatly limits my UD time. Magnar is the third alt, so I only sign on him if I get time after the first two. It maybe awhile, so feel free to slaughter our Athenian cousins as you deem necessary. --Gus ThomasSpartaZHU 06:52, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

About that Contract

Well, I can't tell you who hired you but I can let you know if a group is breaking an agreement between your group. If you want, tell me what groups are in agreements with you and I can let you know from there. I am a neutral party and just doing a job, so please don't come after my men or myself. If you need some work done, let me know. I will do it for the right price. --Sazahn 00:32, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

No Argives?

Hey,

After reading your post on PKA, I agree that Argives is probably not the best designation of your fine group. You actually bother to look into the name prompted me to reconsider more then anything else. May I humbly propose Aegina as a suitable replacement? I implore you to take note of the last few lines there: "Zeus needed an elite army and at first thought that Aegina who at the time did not have any villagers was the perfect place. So he turned the ants (Greek: Μυρμύγκια, Myrmigia) into warriors who had 6 hands and wore black armors. Later on Myrmidons were known as the most fearsome fighting unit in Greece led by Achilles." Now, please understand, using Greek names for groups is a habit largely of myself alone, and by no means not followed by all Spartans. At best, maybe Desmond uses the practice as well.
