Basic Info:

  • Malls are an excellent place to find a wide range of items; the only major items that cannot be found here are revivification syringes and fuel cans. As such, Malls are frequently used as safehouses and fortresses by survivors. Zombies often check inside (when they can get in), and organized zombie groups sometimes lay siege to them. They are listed as a Tactical Resource Point.

"Looted debris litters the floor, and the shop fronts have been smashed and vandalised almost beyond recognition."

Treweeke Mall is a four-block shopping mall in the suburb of Dulston. The mall can usually be found heavily fortified and regularly patrolled by a loose-knit coalition of veteran survivors seeking to use the abundance of resources made available within the mall. This has turned the mall into a very useful base of operations for survivor groups seeking to loosen the zombie stranglehold on surrounding suburbs. Two of the more famous groups to have once resided inside the mall were the Dulston Defense Death Squad and the Sons of Treweeke. These days, no specific survivor groups call Treweeke Mall home.

Barricade Policy

The standard policy for Treweeke Mall is one familiar to all malls throughout Malton. As malls are considered landmark structures containing the largest supply of resources and survivor populations they must also be the most heavily defended. For this reason every corner of the Treweeke Mall is to be kept at Extremely Heavily barricaded at all times, regardless of whether or not zombies are sieging the building. This follows the policy dictated by the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram; a defense plan that has been accepted by the citizens of Dulston and was originally enforced by the Dulston Defense Death Squad.

As such, Free Running is considered a prerequisite skill for survivors wishing to enter the mall. Common entrances, or points of entry, are buildings surrounding the mall that should have barricades no higher than Very Strongly (+2) to allow survivors to enter them and then use Free Running to enter the mall itself. These buildings include Pegrum Place PD [93,9] and Heddington Walk Railway Station [93,6]. Of course during a major zombie siege Pegrum Place PD survivors will likely over-barricade to defend themselves, so please keep this in mind.

Over-Barricading Entry Points: Should Heddington Walk Railway Station ever be over-barricaded survivors are asked to tear down the barricade back to Very Strongly (+2). As it is not a resource building and also serves as an entry point into the mall keeping it open to survivors is essential for the defense of the mall during a zombie siege. While over-barricading this building may simply be a sign of ignorance on the part of survivors staying there it should be mentioned that a common tactic used by zombie spies is to over-barricade such buildings, causing entry/exit problems for survivors wishing to attack the horde and then re-enter the mall afterwards.

Breaching Mall Barricades: Survivors are reminded that lowering the mall's barricades is actively discouraged to various degrees by mall survivors, perhaps even to the extent where offenders may even find themselves attacked. While some survivors attempt entry into the mall using a Crowbar because they lack Free Running they are just as likely to be labeled zombie spies if caught in the act. During a zombie siege this creates a potential breach in the mall's defenses that might be exploited by a zombie horde. In turn survivors inside the mall will be forced to waste actions rebuilding what another survivor has destroyed, actions that could have been spent defending against a real zombie threat.

NecroTech Buildings

In the struggle to retain control of Dulston in survivors hands there are always bound to be casualties, but NecroTech staff want to assure survivors that they always have their best interests at heart and are willing to come to their aid should the need arise. As such, all survivors should be aware of the NecroTech facilities within the area surrounding the mall so they know where to travel in order to be revived as quickly as possible. It should be noted that zombie survivors should NEVER stand directly outside any building, resource or otherwise, as they will be viewed a threat and summarily attacked by survivors. NecroTech facilities usually have a designated revive point associated with them, but should they not then zombie survivors are asked to stand in an open street adjacent to these structures. The following is a list of all the NecroTech facilities within a 3 block radius of the mall, listed in order of closest proximity:

  • The Starr Building [89,6] in Rhodenbank; from Treweeke Mall's northwest side use Free Running to travel 1 block west to a factory, then 1 block northwest and 1 block southwest. If currently in the southwest corner of the mall survivors can either travel outside, 2 blocks northwest and 1 block west, or proceed first to the northwest corner of the mall if they want to stay indoors while traveling (+1 block/AP movement).

Note: Survivors do not require the Free Running skill in order to use these directions. All distances (3 block/3 AP) are equal for survivors, with or without Free Running, and zombie survivors regardless of the route they travel to reach these buildings. While there are more direct paths it should be noted that no additional AP are wasted by following an instructed route. Their purpose is to provide additional protection to survivors using Free Running by allowing them to stay indoors while traveling to NecroTech buildings, possibly to acquire revivification syringes for the defense of the mall.

Reinforcements

During a prolonged zombie siege survivors must consider drawing additional forces from the surrounding area in order to bolster their numbers and resist succumbing to fatigue. A major siege becomes a war of attrition since zombies cannot truly be killed in battle they must be held back until such time as they choose to scatter in search of easier targets. The zombie horde will seek to exhaust the defenders (i.e. 0 AP) and their combined resources (medical supplies, revivification syringes, and ammunition). Survivors must therefore rely on enlisting support from nearby zombie hunters and medics who may not be aware of the current situation at the mall. Below is a list of locations where such reinforcements may be found and it is a solid strategy to consider sending runners to them so as to rally support for the mall. While runners can be sent to buildings that are farther away the ones listed here are all within a close proximity to Treweeke Mall.

Zombie Hunters

These are survivors who excel at attacking and killing zombies. They are the most common type of survivor in Malton. The largest concentrations of combat-oriented survivors are commonly found at police departments or malls, where a plentiful supply of ammunition can be located. The following is a list of local police departments near Treweeke Mall:

  • Pegrum Place PD [93,9] in Dulston; from Treweeke Mall's south side use Free Running to travel 1 block south. Total distance: 1 block with or without Free Running. May not be ideal as its point-blank proximity to Treweeke will likely make it included as a collateral target.

Medics

These are survivors who specialize in Diagnosis and First Aid skills, using medical supplies to their maximum potential while outside a hospital environment. Support survivors are commonly found at hospitals or malls, where a plentiful supply of First Aid Kits can be located. The following is a list of local hospitals near Treweeke Mall:

  • Marcellus General Hospital [88,8] in Rhodenbank; from Treweeke Mall's northwest corner use Free Running to travel 1 block northwest to a factory [91,6], then 2 blocks southwest and 1 block west. Total distance: 4 blocks with or without Free Running.
  • St. Mark's Hospital [87,5] in Rhodenbank; from Treweeke Mall's northwest corner use Free Running to travel 1 block northwest to a factory [91,6], then another block northwest and 3 blocks west. Total distance: 5 blocks with or without Free Running.
  • Blaise General Hospital [98,8] in Dulston; from Treweeke Mall's southwest corner Free Running to travel 1 block southeast to Muirhead Avenue Railway Station [94,9], then 1 block east, 2 blocks northeast and 1 block southeast. Total distance: 5 blocks with or without Free Running, BUT if not Free Running from the mall's northeast corner a more direct path will not require traveling to the mall's southeast corner first, rather the survivor can go directly to Pirrie Place [94,8] before proceeding east and use 5 AP for travel.

Recon reports from the Dulston Alliance indicate that all four corners of the mall are Extremely Heavily barricaded and powered. Shoppers are encouraged to return to the mall, for only through consumerism can we hope to weed out the communist zombie threat posed to the mall. Come on people, pack back into the mall and get free samples of anything you can scrounge up.

Survivors from the New Malton Colossus rang in the new year by capturing the mall and powering its four corners. While heavy resistance is expected, the mall currently rests in survivor hands. --PadreRomero 20:46, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

The mall has been retaken by a medium sized horde of zombies. -- boxy talkteh rulz 00:57 21 December 2008 (BST)

December 19th, 2008

Officer Murphy of Dead vs Blue initially reported that the southeast corner of the mall was ruined with 7 zombies inside. He later revised this recon report to 5 zombies after he finished off two of them and leaving a third zombie critically injured (4 HP). The bodies of the two dead zombies were dumped before Officer Murphy pulled back.
Update: Rotten Ray of D.I.T.P.S issued their own recon report. There were 2 zombies in the northwest corner, which was still ruined. A lone zombie was in the northeast corner, which was Extremely Heavily barricaded with 20 survivors sheltering there. Another 6 zombies were attacking the southwest corner of the mall, which had only 1 survivor left in it. Lastly, 1 zombie was reported in the southeast corner, but it was unclear whether there were still any living survivors there as well.
Update: Rotten Ray submitted a new report, stating that there were now 6 zombies in the northwest corner, 11 zombies in the southwest corner (ruined), while the northeast corner still had 9 survivors and was Quite Strongly barricaded. The southeast corner had a mere 3 survivors sheltering there, but was Extremely Heavily barricaded.

December 17th, 2008

Recon from Metal Fox operative Major Azzhole revealed that the northwest corner of the Mall had been ruined with 6 zombies inside at this time. The northwest corner of the mall was still Extremely Heavily barricaded and powered. Unfortunately the bottom two corners of the mall had their power knocked out.

December 16th, 2008

The Dulston Alliance reported that the last of the zombies plaguing the mall had been terminated and cleared. The mall's barricades were being raised and a clean-up effort was underway in an effort to attract the mall rats back to Treweeke. In the meantime kudos to Officer Murphy of Dead vs Blue for leading the offensive.

December 15th, 2008

Dead vs Blue recon reported there was 1 zombie in each of the southeast and southwest corners of the mall, along with 2 zombies in the northwest corner and 3 more zombies in the northeast corner.
Update: Throwing caution to the wind, Officer Murphy of Dead vs Blue began a singlehandid campaign to clear the mall of zombies. He managed to clear every corner of the mall except the northeast corner which still had 2 zombies. The other 3 corners were secured, or "repaired and barricaded".
Update: Major Azzhole of Metal Fox reported that he had "softened up" the remaining zombies and Very Heavily barricaded the northeast corner of the mall. In the end the last of the zombies was killed and dumped. Now all that needed to be done was fill out all the paperwork involved with re-opening the mall to shoppers...

December 2nd, 2008

Deathwire of D.I.T.P.S, was making his undead recon rounds and reported in from Treweeke Mall. Long story short, the mall is still ruined with 2 zombies in the northwest corner, 1 zombie in the northeast corner, 1 zombie in the southwest corner, and 2 zombies in the southeast corner. Hmmm, that report wasn't very short at all.

December 1st, 2008

Rotten Ray, of the D.I.T.P.S, reported that the mall is still overrun by zombies, albiet there are not many of them. The D.I.T.P.S recon report indicated there was 1 zombie in the northwest corner, another zombie in the northeast corner, 3 zombies in the southwest corner, and lastly 2 zombies in the southeast corner.

November 2008

November 6th, 2008

BASSIST 234 reported that the southwest and southeast corners of the mall were ruined.
Update: The NW corner is the only corner of the mall left un-ruined. A total of 46 zombies standing inside and outside the mall at the moment. Around 20 survivors are left in the NW corner. In less than 12 hours, I assume that the mall will be fully zombie controlled. -- Ωmega360 Small septagon.gifT 21:44, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

November 5th, 2008

BASSIST 234 of Bounty Hunters Unltd. reported that the southeast corner of the mall was Extremely Heavily barricaded with 49 zombies outside. Other than himself, it was unclear how many survivors were still in that corner of the mall.
Update: SNAKEHOUND reported there were 8 zombies inside the southeast corner now, along with another 5 zombies inside the northeast corner of the mall.
Update: Bounty Hunters Unltd. recon reported that the southeast corner of the mall was ruined.

November 4th, 2008

Kittithaj, freelance Dulston Alliance operative, reported that there was a breach at the mall. It was no surprise that the corner breached was the southeast one, but what was surprising is that only 2 zombies managed to get inside before the barricades were raised again. Reports indicate there are 40 more zombies still outside that corner, along with 80 bodies... still, the zombies do not appear to be organized (i.e. not using X:00 tactics).
Update: Scattered reports from Dulston Alliance operatives indicate that the southeast corner of the mall has fallen.

October 2008

October 31st, 2008

NecroWatch reported from the Whitlock Building with a new scan of the area. It revealed that while the northeast, northwest, and southwest corners of the mall were all clear of zombies, there were 50 zombies at the northeast corner. The scan could not reveal if any of these zombies had managed to break inside of the mall however.

October 29th, 2008

The situation at the mall appears to have taken a turn, as FOXHOUND reported that 7 zombies had managed to breach the barricades in the southeast corner, while another zombie had managed to get into the southwest corner.
Update: Fighting was fierce, but at last report Mikhos, the leader of Bounty Hunters Unltd., revealed that the zombies in the southeast corner had dropped. There were now only 2 zombies still standing.

October 25th, 2008

SNAKEHOUND recon reported that there were 47 zombies outside the southeast corner of the mall. When Mikhos is right, he's right.
Update: Cpt Garviel Loken and Mikhos were both present at the mall today to survey its defenses. Garviel appeared to take particular interest in whether the zombie mob outside the southeast corner was organized, but Mikhos was of the opinion they had not yet attained that degree of coordination. Or, in his own words, Mikhos reported, "Not yet. Their attempts at taking the SE are pitiful."

October 25th, 2008

Mikhos, leader of Bounty Hunters Unltd., reported from the southeast corner of the mall where he had finished off the last zombie inside the mall. He did however mention in his report to the Dulston Alliance that zombie attacks against the southeast corner were pervasive. Additional efforts therefore should be made to monitor that section of the mall for further breach attempts.

October 24th, 2008

The barricades in the southeast corner of Treweeke Mall fell and around 10 zombies managed to get inside.
Update: Cpt Garviel Loken, Lord General Militant of the Imperium, reported that his men had managed to kill half the zombies leaving only 5 zombies standing in the southeast corner. The barricades were also raised and now the corner is Very Strongly barricaded.

October 23rd, 2008

The barricades in the northeast corner of Treweeke Mall were not looking good today, as it was reported they were only Lightly barricaded at the time. It would appear that the zombies want back into the mall.

October 22nd, 2008

Treweeke Mall is retaken thanks to the brave effort from lots of survivors. Its restoration marks an important milestone in reclaiming all of Dulston from the hands of the dead. -- Kittithaj 17:44, 23 October 2008 (BST)

October 20th, 2008

Officer Murphy of Dead vs Blue reported that he had managed repair the northeast and southeast corners of the mall. He also reported that there were 2 zombies in the southwest and northwest corners of the mall. He also mentioned that a zombie had entered the southeast corner just as he was leaving.

October 16th, 2008

Cpt Garviel Loken, Lord General Militant of the Imperium, reported that his recon unit had tactical information about the current zombie forces inside the mall. The report revealed that there were no survivors in the mall, only zombies. There were 4 zombies in the northwest corner, 7 zombies in the northeast corner, 3 zombies in the southwest corner, and 2 zombies in the southeast corner.

September 2008

September 14th, 2008 - The Electric Light Torchestra recon reported that the mall was in ruins. At this time there were 9 zombies in the northwest corner, 6 zombies in the northeast corner, 9 zombies in the southeast corner, and 6 zombies in the southwest corner. Three more zombies were standing outside the northeast corner of the mall.

One corner is ruined, the other at lightly barricaded. I would suggest all shoppers to vacate the mall at their earliest convenience. --Bro Peezy 08:51, 7 September 2008 (BST)
Update: Bounty Hunters Unltd. recon reported that there were 33 zombies inside the northwest corner of Treweeke Mall. Zerta of BHU bagged a zombie in the southwest corner of the mall leaving behind 2 more zombies there and another zombie in the northeast corner. Considering that the northeast corner was still Extremely Heavily barricaded and under strong survivor control he believes the lone zombies may have been a "parachuter" (a death cultist who died of an infection on purpose and stood up).

The Big Bash 2 is in the process of clearing out the NE corner, having taken down the SE and SW and killing close to 100 survivors in a few hours. Other than one break-in so minor it didn't get noted at the time in mid-January and the neverending assaults of Dulston's famous GKers, Treweeke has had nothing at all to report for the entire month of January, likely due to the raging battle in Pitneybank. But today we have begun seeing our heroes who marched off to aid Giddings straggle back disheveled and bloody, and a pall of gloom has settled over the suburb...--Boris 16:28, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
