Alliance 45 is a group of groups who originally joined forces to take the Quartly library and Roftwood and are named for their first joint operation, "Operation Colt .45" Continuing together after securing Roftwood, the alliance launched "Operation Colt Comrades" to assist The Kilt Store at Nichols Mall and make Stanbury Village safe.
Origins
Tony Blair, legendary leader of the Cannonball Crew is credited with founding the alliance by inspiring the then unknown Leon Silverblood with a post on strategy. Leon later formed an alliance that would grow to become Alliance 45, keeping close contact with Tony and applying his ideas to great success. Tony Blair is often referred to as the "true" mastermind of A45.
Operation Colt .45
Operation Colt .45 was an assault on the Quartly library to retake it from the alleged zerger Wigglytuff. As many as 5 previous attempts by other groups had failed at this and so the alliance met with significant ambivalence from potential allies. It's first joint operation was, however, a resounding success, garnering high marks and giving rise to a quiet buzz among the largest groups from the DEM to the RRF with the successful capture of the suburb using disproportionately minimal manpower. Mostly from the Cannonball Crew with one or two from the Malton Rangers and QSG, their 9-man force took one quarter of the suburb immediately and held it while reinforcements slowly trickled in. Gathering momentum and allies, 80% of the suburb was under the alliance's control within about a week.
It should be noted that the alliance never actually captured and held the Quartly Library. Although Leon made exhaustive attempts to contact the leadership of the Quartly Study Group, sustained positive contact eluded him. Although he assembled a team to clear it of zombies and repair it to keep the AP repair cost down, the alliance's focus had now shifted to Operation Colt Comrades. Meanwhile, sexualharrison and The Know Nothings arrived and are credited with clearing the Quartly, barricading it, and leaving shortly thereafter. The Quartly was up for about 2 days before being overrun by Wigglytuff and company.
Operation Colt Comrades
While they did not secure the Quartly library, the alliance did control 80% of the suburb constantly. Early on into their dominance of Roftwood, the nearby Nichols Mall of Stanbury Village was endangered, and the alliance moved to assist them as quickly as possible. A testament to quick response, they were alerted June 8th, began planning and were scheduled to launch an operation 2 days later. The Nichols mall fell on the tenth, though, and the invasion of Stanbury Village was forestalled. The alliance then approached The Kilt Store, suggesting that they recover their decimated forces in Roftwood while planning continued. The Kilt Store accepted and Operation Colt Comrades was launched on Saturday, June 13th.
In a meticulously planned and tightly coordinated assault spearheaded by the Cannonball Crew and the Army Control Corps with reinforcements from 8 of the 11 other A45 member groups, the alliance hgained control of the entire suburb within approximately 6 hours- over 90% of Stanbury Village was again in human hands. The Kilt Store recaptured Nichols mall themselves. The area now occupied by Alliance 45 and it's allies had been extended to roughly 200 city blocks.
Member Groups
Being a member of Alliance 45 is not a subjugation to higher leadership. Requests to join an operation and suggestions as to the best tactical method for that operation are dispatched daily to member groups, however each one is encouraged to use it's best judgment and there are no orders, per se. Excerpted from a classified post with permission:
"We've come a long way, everyone, from 9 troops who captured 1/4 of Roftwood in 24 hours and held it(!) to over 100 active members in 14 member groups. Thanks to the following groups who have sent members, detachments, or their entire forces:
