20070731 Precise Headshot

Stryks 13:12, 31 July 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
New survivor skill.

Suggestion scope
Affects Zombies.

Suggestion description

An extension of the headshot skill, the zombie when killed with the 'precise headshot' will 'wander aimlessly' due to damage to specific areas of the brain while surrounding brain matter is undamaged. In effect, the zombie dies and upon standing, finds themselves in a location, lets say, 5 or more moves from where they were shot in a random direction, possibly towards a graveyard, driven by some primal instinct.

There would be no AP penalty, as the actions were involuntary, and there is no other side effect apart from survivors having a slightly better chance of dispersing a group of zombies, especially lower level ones (they can return but be lower on AP than higher level ones).

Under a siege situation, survivors will attack and attack to hold a strategic location, with the only effect being turning standing zombies into dead ones until the zombies next turn. This could be seen as the zombie equivalent of having to stand up, find and move to a revive point and waste days of AP's waiting for a revive.

The move would be instantaneous, and take place at the time of death. This might seem odd, but seeing as AP's are not time units, it's not really breaking the games ideals. The zombie would merely wake disoriented or confused, needing to walk back to their hoarde. The survivor would get "The zombie is clearly dead, but staggers off some distance before falling".

No other reference would be made to allow the survivor to track the zombie.

Keep Votes

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - pied-piper skill. Forced move like this is a big no-no. The survivors wouldn't notice a thing and the zombie would be pissed. you should focus on making the game more fun, not introduce more annoyance.-- Vista  +1  14:58, 31 July 2007 (BST)
Kill - what vista said. besides, it's totally out of genre: headshots don't make zombies wander drunkenly, headshots KILL zombies. Unsigned vote struck. --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 17:27, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill Survivors are screwed as soon as a zombie horde attacks, that's what they're good at, don't damage it for them.--Seventythree 16:56, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - No anti-pied-piper skills! (Because they're not following, they're running away). --Saluton 17:08, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - No forced moves, please. --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 17:27, 31 July 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Break the game more Jim - No dispersing hordes! No forced moves! No better headshot! --Karekmaps?! 14:20, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  2. Spam - Completely negates Ankle Grab. No teleporting skills (You claim they wanderwed, but they spent no AP doing so, so they teleported). Most importanmtly: No need for such a skill. --Grim s-Mod U! 17:05, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  3. Spam - Fuck no. --Sonny Corleone RRF CoL DORIS CRF pr0n 18:02, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam - similar skills have been discussed on the Talk:Suggestion page, and reasonable version were come up with. You bypassed every idea given that would make it reasonable, and went straight for the worst possible version. ΔΔΔ  Swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png 18:10, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  5. Where to begin? You move the zombie. You move them up to 5 squares away. If they don't have Lurching Gait, that takes them about... 25 AP to get back. And they move towards a cemetery, which I'm pissed at because those are both being considered universal revive points (hay i killd yuo, go get rez) and because cemeteries don't really have anything to do with zombies in this game outside of that. Kalir FTW! Z/S UD Potato Words 18:54, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  6. Spam - So, on a young zombie, without Lurching Gait, they would lose TWENTY AP for dying. 10 to stand up, 5 moves (at two AP a piece) to get back to where they were. No forever. (Moved from Kill to Spam. This is that bad)--Druuuuu 19:18, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  7. Spam HOLY SHIT! I'd rather have fucking nija sniper rifles! Waste HALF a newbies AP with a headshot? This will never get in the game, therefore SPAM! SPAM! SPAM!--Wooty 20:17, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  8. Spam - <insert hilarious Monty Python quote here> - this is OP, period end. --Ryiis 21:06, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  9. Mudkipz? - Only if zombies get super-telekinetic-lazer-eyes-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 21:57, 31 July 2007 (BST)
  10. Spam - a poor copy of a suggestion on the Talk:Suggestions page which was discussed and not brought forward by the originator. If you're going to read the suggestion, read the flaws that people point out too. 'arm. 01:06, 1 August 2007 (BST)
