'crat seat
Your 'crat seat is up in a few days, and I hadn't seen anyone else mention it yet, so I figured I'd remind you in case you had forgotten. —Aichon— 23:25, 15 August 2013 (BST)

- I could, but why would I want to? My stance has always been to take positions as the community sees them fit to me, not to seek them out actively. We will see in 3 months. -- Spiderzedâ–ˆ 22:30, 3 September 2013 (BST)

- I'm Thad. I created the account as a joke account, a reflection of the worst kind of wiki user. Then, hilariously people actually voted for my sysop bid. I tried to convince DDR that it had all got out of hand, but he promoted my alt. Feeling guilt, I made sure Thads decisions were always idiotic and contrary to my own. Then finally, when it came to re-evaluation I knew I couldn't maintain the charade any longer. I stepped the account down, and continued with only my main. I'm sorry, I don't know why I even did it. --Rosslessness 19:02, 5 September 2013 (BST)

Pagan event idea
Here's a screen of that thread you couldn't see: http://i.imgur.com/Fu9Fb82.jpg
Basically it's a Norse pagan ritual that is held at the beginning of winter and the middle of winter but there are no specific dates. I don't know if it's the same thing you were trying to organise last year but if we could get it organised and coordinated between the groups that would be great --TD 03:17, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late reply, I've been madly busy with work. The idea I had was entirely different (more based on Rauhnacht and its main protagonist, the the Wild Hunt). Essentially, make the Rauhnacht a bloody reality for a suburb and have the wild riders kill anyone within who is fair game for the hunt. -- Spiderzedâ–ˆ 07:56, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

RE: Houghton Towers
I know Spiderzed, it's why I said "I had second thoughts." But in the end, if the game stays long enough... the dead will leave and I can start having a safe H.Q.. Even if it takes forever and majority of players are gone... I won't care. Reasons can be just strong enough to do something, or the core strength of 'why.' And my reason for staying hasn't seen a variable to leave yet. Because that variable would have to be the game shutting down. They'll get bored eventually, and even if I don't have a playground full of people to play with, I'll still have fun :) But I won't leave, I have a liking to Houghton Towers, if I leave, I won't have my reason to stay. --- Alex Yamata 09:52, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
Rules For Location Picture?
I'd like to use a picture from google images as the representation of a building in the game on the wiki, but just to be safe, are there, and what are the rules for getting one? --- Alex Yamata 12:07, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hey Alex, if you look at the upload form when you go to upload an image you'll see the basic versions of the rules. My assumption is that your question relates to copyright. Our rules state that you shouldn't upload copyrighted images without permission, but in practice it's no issue unless the copyright holder makes a specific complaint, in which an administrator will take it down. But this is extremely rare, so my advice is that you just upload it first and then see if any issue comes up. A ZOMBIE ANT 14:35, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
Suggestion help
Hey there, I put up a suggestion in the discussion page, and I think this could be an answer making the game continue to be fun for the players that are still here. I think that UD has to keep the players that it has, and keep them entertained. I think the idea can be easily expanded upon to make the fun last. Anyway just want to get someone's opinion on it seeing as noone really looks there anymore.JoshCz (talk) 20:25, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Hey hey, Zed of eight legs. Remind me again...What's the policy on external links in sigs? Because I was thinking of linking my YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch in my sig. Hello
Hello spiderzed of the populat, oracle of the wiki. What do I do against impersonation user accounts being created in my groups name:

- In the more active times of the game, I have been with ZHU and helped on a number of zerg investigations, as well as submitted some zerg sightings of my own. These days Resensitized seems to be asleep at the wheel, but so does most of the metagame. The backlog from the heydays still makes for a great resource. -- Spiderzed▋ 12:55, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
- If you have the time, could you quickly outline a general insight into how you would investigate? How much proof would be needed to designate someone as a Zerg? What telltale signs did you look for? A ZOMBIE ANT 06:50, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
- Naming-style. (When you see ObviousZerg001, ObviousZerg002, ObviousZerg003 and ObviousZerg017 in the same building, it doesn't really take a rocket scientist to figure out what is going on.) Close creation dates and successive profile IDs. Physical proximity on the map. Acting one after another in short succession towards the same goal. Profile descriptions can also be a strong indicator, especially if the player behind the zergs has an odd spelling mistake or an odd choice of words.
If several of those fit, you can be pretty sure of having caught a zerg army. This only captures the dumb zergs, but in my experience most zergs aren't very subtle or clever about their zerging. Most zerg investigations just involves hanging out in the area to observe the activity of the suspected zerg alts to get multiple screenshots of them acting in quick succession to rule out anecdotal flukes, and to catch any additional zerg alts that may have been overlooked at first. -- Spiderzed▋ 12:58, 8 August 2017 (UTC)- The one note on quickly-acting-in-succession — because this is how (e.g.) zombie strike teams operate, this alone doesn't prove zerging. It'd have to go hand-in-hand with other indicators as well. Otherwise, these are the indicators I use too. Bob Moncrief EBD•W! 14:51, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
- Strike teams almost always operate in parallel, not succession. If you see "X killed 1, X killed 2, Y killed 3, Y killed 4, Z killed 5" and so on, it's probably a zerg, since each character is doing all of their actions before the next one begins. If you see "X killed 1, Y killed 2, X killed 3, Z killed 4, Y killed 5", it's probably a team, since their attacks are interleaving one another as they all attack together after picking their targets at the start. —Aichon— 17:11, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

A question about your sandbox, and something else
Excuse me for bothering you, Spiderzed, but I noticed you seem to have a dedicated page that is labeled "Sandbox". Is anyone entitled to set up another page and use it as a sandbox? I can't seem to find anything in the wiki about it.
On another subject, I was wondering if it is okay to set up a dedicated page to an alt?
I was thinking of designing a character who lives in Rolt Heights and runs a bookstore and coffee shop near the Burchell Arms. I'm not finding links to a wiki page explaining about extra pages. I'm terrified of doing something that is a computer-sin; I don't know any code or much about computers in general (Bob Moncrief told me it's called a userbox, not a "button".) I've been working on a general page to explain what I'm about and to ground me in the UD world (but so far, I can't even figure out how to give that page one background color, or how to fix my signatures so they are like your Sally-alt's. I think having these signatures would make more sense when I talk to players in the various groups my alts belong to.)
I know this is a lot of questions. If you could steer me to a link or two, I'd be so grateful. Thank you very much for your time. Catherine Cushing (talk) 01:19, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- If I may quickly pop in to help a bit, you should consider your userpage (User:Catherine Cushing) almost like a home folder, and anything within that, your own personal pages.
- By that I mean, your userpage, then separated with a forwardslash, then you can make a separate page. I have User:DanceDanceRevolution but I also have User:DanceDanceRevolution/sandpit which is also mine too. But I also have User:DanceDanceRevolution/sandpit/1 for a separate one, and if I remember right, I have about 9 or so sandbox pages. You can do the same. User:Catherine Cushing/Sandbox or User:Catherine Cushing/Any Page or User:Catherine Cushing/Any Page/Subpage. It's all yours and essentially no one else can edit them. You can see that's how Spiderzed's pages are also written out on his userpage. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 01:41, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- You are free to set up pages within your userspace (that is, additional pages preceded by User:Catherine Cushing such as User:Catherine Cushing/Example Alt as much as you like. That also includes signatures such as User:Catherine Cushing/Example Alt Sig, although you will need to manually transclude them as I did for for User:Spiderzed/SallySig whenever I was posting as Sally A Summers, e.g. by using the code {{User:Spiderzed/SallySig}} ~~~~~ to get the result of --Sally A. Summers Ω 01:46, 12 March 2019 (UTC).
- You best start to set that subpage up in your userspace (feel free to steal any code you like from the userspace from other people, like my subpage on Sally), create a signature for that character, and then to link first to it from your own talk page. You should get the hang of it quickly, if not, feel free to hit my talk page again. -- Spiderzed▋ 01:46, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
I have a Discord question.
Hi, sorry to bother you, but ein (Vacuos, some goth kids, etc.) gave me this link [2] hoping it would help me work on the wiki pages.
But once I'm in, Discord asks me to "claim my account". I don't understand how to do that. I put in my email and it tells me that address is already taken!
"Catherine Cushing" doesn't seem to work. Catherine Cushing (talk) 02:12, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
- Have you tried logging in with that email address? DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 03:09, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
- I have no idea. -- Spiderzed▋ 18:17, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
- Maybe try turning it off an on again. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 23:30, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
- Or reverse the polarity of the warp drive. -- Spiderzed▋ 01:24, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, I tried to log in several times in various ways, but not the warp one. That'll probably work. :P No seriously, I gave up. Thanks for your time. Catherine Cushing (talk) 09:34, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
- Bad luck CC. Particularly strange. My first move would have been to either log in on that email or recover the password. Outside of that... is there any way to jump on with a different email? DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 12:27, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
- Well, I don't know how to recover the password, apparently. (I thought I had the password. I was demoralized when I wrote the original message.) I only have the one email. I can read what other people are writing, I simply can't ask anybody a question. So I guess I'll just read it passively. If I have a wiki question, I will have to bother one of you, I suppose. Actually, I do have a wiki question. I just edited the Fabian General Hospital page, but afterwards, I saw something that intimated I should have signed the edit! If that is true, sign what exactly? Where? Thank you for your time.Catherine Cushing (talk) 05:05, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
- None of your edits to Fabian General Hospital was in need of signing. Would only come up in the case of news/current status, editing its talk page or editing the associated Danger Report. -- Spiderzed▋ 09:41, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
- You're all good CC. Your content on Fabian General was fine. My recommendation would be to do what you need to do to get you information across, and if you make any pressing mistake one of us will let you know. You've done some great stuff so far. Hope to see more. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION 12:47, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

Tall, Dark and Gruesome
Christopher Lee, Tall, Dark and Gruesome: An Autobiography. I finally got to Lee's book. Thanks again! Catherine Cushing (talk) 05:23, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
- Good pick. I liked especially his anecdotes from WW2 while serving in the RAF. -- Spiderzed▋ 20:03, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the new map link!
Will add it to the list.
