As such, Malls are frequently used as safehouses and fortresses by survivors. Zombies often check inside (when they can get in), and organized zombie groups sometimes lay siege to them. They are listed as a Tactical Resource Point. Characters with the Shopping skill can loot specific stores. Those without will find these items at random: Bookstore: books, poetry books. Drugstore: first aid kits. Gun Store: pistols, pistol clips, shotguns, shotgun shells. Hardware Store: crowbars, fire axes, flare guns, spray cans, knives, portable generators, toolboxes. Liquor Store: beer, wine. Sporting Goods: baseball bats, Binoculars, cricket bats, fencing foils, golf clubs, hockey sticks, pool cues, ski poles, tennis rackets. Tech Store: GPS units, mobile phones, radios, radio transmitters. Malls are large buildings, and are barricaded as such.

Ackland Mall is a four-block shopping mall in the suburb of Havercroft and was the scene of the Battle of the Bear Pit, The Ides Of March, Second Siege of Ackland Mall, Black Christmas Siege and the most recent War of the North West Frontier. This is also the only shopping mall with a Goth Clothes store. Lastly, this mall is the location of the tomb of Ron Burgundy, leader of men and scourge of Wes Mantooth.

There are no NecroTech Buildings in Havercroft, nor are there any in the neighboring suburb of Lerwill Heights.

The radio frequency for Ackland Mall is 27.50 MHz.

The North-East corner of Ackland Mall contains the mobile phone mast for the suburb of Havercroft. It is important to note that of all of the Malls and Forts, this is the only one with a phone mast. Thusly, holding the NE corner of the building is of vital importance to humans. In this respect, only the Herman Building is similar in being of both strategic and tactical value.

Sadly, this tactical advice was invalidated with the large buildings update making malls one building 2x2 large and internal defense is nearly impossible.

To update the mast status, please update the Ackland Mall Danger Report and alter the mast_status line based on the condition of the North-East corner of the mall.

54 Zombies in total. North west and south east quadrants flooded with hordes, however still hope for the remain sides. 3 zombies in top right and 6 zombies and bottom left with a substantial amount of surviors. Monday, December 15th, 14:45 (UTC)

December 4th

All quadrants repaired, EHBed and lighted. Survivors are holding the mall, few zombies are outside. Many entry points all around the building, the mall is a beacon of hope amidst a dead and ruined suburb. Firense 21:41, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Ackland Mall is now in ruins

Horde inside Ackland Mall. Only NE corner lit. There are at least 10 zombies inside Ackland with 8 of them in the NW corner of the mall.

October 10

Horde in the northwest corner, as of now 37 zombies and 54 dead bodies. Barricades at EHB, however a bit earlier they were only VSB. I'm new to Urban Dead, but is this still the war of the North West Frontier? I'm zombified and ZKing right now, but if anyone can help, (and I'm allowed to ask them to) please do. ~ Veraq (Also if I did this totally wrong, delete it.)
