Peddlesden Village is a suburb of Malton, located in the northwest of the city. The suburb is physically divided into two halves, the northern and southern half, by a line of streets and the occasional carpark, and therefore there is a break in the freerunning lane for survivors traveling through.

Despite its name, Peddlesden Village is not the bucolic paradise one might expect. The name originates from 'Pedlars' Den', and during the 18th century it was infamous for the gangs of gypsy pedlars who lurked in its woods, lying in wait to ambush travellers along the Malton Road with tawdry goods and pies of dubious provenance for sale (even since the outbreak, cats and rats are rare in the area). The once-leafy nature of the area is reflected in the names of the streets which still follow the east-west path of the old Malton Road, which is believed to date back to Roman times: for example, Hart Grove, Rainey Grove and Beagly Lane (the Village was once the site of a popular deer hunt). However, the Village's modest population and far-flung location on the western extremity of Malton made it an appealing location for town planners and politicians looking to encourage manufacturing investment without harming their election results.

During the 1960s, Malton's council encouraged the establishment of heavy industry in the Village, resulting in two particularly dangerous and polluting factories being erected near the very edge of the city limits: the Satsuma car factory and its corporate big brother, the Lawn Mower and Dangerous Toy Company. Despite a horrific record of industrial accidents, leading to the establishment of Teddy's Hospital, both factories were still in operation until the outbreak raised casualty levels to unacceptable (read: unprofitable) levels.

While the north was dominated by industry and its hangers-on, the 'attractions' in southern Peddlesden included its clubs, pubs, and a half-hearted attempt to inject some culture into these backwards backwoods. Peddlesden is also home to the Hockey Museum, despite the demise of Malton's own hockey team and the dilapidation of its stadium.

Contemporary Village life revolves around the Bascombe NT facility and the nearby Swinnerton Square Police Department, traditionally patrolled by the DHPD after it was the first suburb incorporated into the DMZ. The town was also the site of the beginnings of the Extinction zombie group and was at one time under the thrall of The Dead.

As of April 2011, Peddlesden Village had the dubious distinction of being the least-visited suburb page, with just 40,740 visitors - even fewer than the notoriously dull area of Crooketon.
