20090332 GPS Tags

--Luke Leimer 04:57, 31 March 2009 (BST)

Suggestion type
New action, possibly for vendettas

Suggestion scope
Survivors caused, Zeds affected

Suggestion description
When successfully extracting DNA, if survivor has a GPS unit, add an option to tag a zombie with a GPS tag. Tagging takes 1 AP. That zombie is added to a special section of the player's contacts. Displays the name, rot status or not, [x,y] block location, and tag number 1-5, if within NecroNet range. Else Display 'Out of Range.' If out of range question marks are displayed instead of a profile link. Each player can only have 5 active tags at once. Tagging with full tags, restarts at the top of the stack. Each tag is only active for 5 days. Afterwards, they are removed from the player's tags list, and a blank goes next to the inactive tag's number. A Zed can have more than one active tag in it at a time. Also, if you run across a zed you have tagged in which the tag is still active, your DNA extractor/GPS Unit will beep, but will only tell you the tag number (1-5). Feel free to add ideas.

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Zed tracking and possibly revivified human tracking? No thanks. --Bob Boberton TF / DW 05:29, 31 March 2009 (BST)
  2. Kill - Griefer tool. --Midianian¦T¦DS¦SP¦ 07:43, 31 March 2009 (BST)
  3. Strong Kill - As Bob and especially Mid. Linkthewindow  Talk  07:45, 31 March 2009 (BST)
  4. Kill - Highly disagree with but at the same time if this was to be implemented I would much suggest using the phone masts as a signal source this way to kind of even it up a bit. Rogueboy 14:59, 31 March 2009 (BST)
  5. Take it to Discussion - Can't vote for this as is, plus, you asked for input, and we're not *really* allowed to converse here. You want Developing Suggestions. ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 16:05, 31 March 2009 (BST)
  6. Kill Seems really overpowered... and could definitely be abused by griefers, text rapists etc. My sympathy goes out to you though, as you have become the next victim of excessive and unnecessary spam votes. --ScaredPlayer 19:04, 31 March 2009 (BST)
  7. Kill - It is overpowered, and not a good idea in general due to the high possibility of griefing. --ZsL 19:25, 31 March 2009 (BST)
  8. Kill - Very overpowered, 5 days is a long time to be tracked, therefore griefing is a high possibility. I could also swear I've seen a tagging suggestion before and it was shot down in a similar fashion, however I can't find it. Acoustic Pie 16:03, 1 April 2009 (BST)
  9. Kill - As Midianian. --Private Mark 23:23, 1 April 2009 (BST)

  6. Now I'm pretty sure this is dupe, but I haven't been around this wiki for a while, and have no clue where anything is now. So I'm just gonna go with everybody in the kill and spam section. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 23:24, 1 April 2009 (BST)
