New skill.

Suggestion scope

Doctors.

Suggestion description

Doctors, I feel, have been sadly ignored just recently. Sure, we've had a few suggestions about scientists, and plenty about weopons, but not so much about the poor dedicated men and women who patch everyone up and treat infections. So here goes. New skill, to be taken after surgery. Triage. Triage can only be used in a fully powered hospital as long as there are no zombies present. Essentialy triage is a very selfless skill. Triage, itslef comes form a system of management of casualties in wartime hospitals. Effectively triage asseses who is most in need of medical atention. Triage is used nowdays in modern hospitals and is the reason why if you go into A&E with a papercut, the guy missing his leg will get seen before you Right, once you have triage, you have a new option in your dropdown menu for the First aid kit (providing your'e in a powered hospital with no zombies) This is Perform Triage. Once you click on this the healing power is essentialy divided out amongst the 3 most badly wounded survivors (not counting yourself). Seeing as you would be in a powered hospital and have surgery, the healing power of the FAK would be 15, so if there are 3 wounded survivors, or more, the 3 most badly hurt would be healed for up to 5 HP each. This would cost 3AP. If there where 2 hurt, then each would be healed for 7HP. This would cost 2AP. If one of the wounded you are triaging is infected they have the infection cured but recive no healing from it. Thanks to Honestmistake, Seb wiers and Uncle bill for your help in getting this of the ground.

  1. keep I am voting keep because i had a fair amount of input and like the idea. sadly as it is this is not looking popular i think we might have to go back to the drawing board! --Honestmistake 20:35, 4 May 2007 (BST)

  1. I don't like the idea of healing multiple people with only 1 FAK... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:39, 4 May 2007 (BST)
RE Neither do I, That's why I put so many limitations on it. I'm mostly just trying to make a suggestion that would turn the hospitals into something more usefull in their own right. I mean, it's actualy more efficiant to search for FAK in mall drugstores at the moment. I'm also trying to give people taking the doctor path a usefull skill.--Seventythree 14:46, 4 May 2007 (BST)
    Ah...but splitting the HP healed per FAK is still using 1 FAK on multiple people now, isn't it? --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:49, 4 May 2007 (BST)
  2. I fail to see the use of this. It is less AP effective as simply healing them one by one. The flavor seems to be off as well. Triage already happens through diagnosis. You see somebody with 14HP and somebody with 52HP who do you heal? Even in hospitals the doctor who is saving somebodies leg isn't performing a open hart surgery at the same time.--Vista 14:59, 4 May 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - 3 AP to heal 15 HP of damage? That's a medic nerf, not boost! -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 15:09, 4 May 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - As above. Besides, while I'm sure that this can save some time, there's an easier way to do it: looking at how much HP various people have, and deciding who to heal with that knowledge. --Saluton 15:16, 4 May 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - as above. --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 16:13, 4 May 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - i don't want to heal random people --Duke GarlandLCD 20:17, 4 May 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - I like the idea of having a powered hospital + a skilled doctor being able to "partially" use FAKs and use the full 15 HP every time, but healing random people and costing just as much AP as healing 3 people is not really worth it. I'd actually see a more powered-up version, since healing is underpowered as is if you ask me, and powered hospitals should be quite useful. They certainly get GK'd enough... --Rasi 19:42, 4 May 2007 (EST)
  8. kill - Because diagnosis is basicly triage as you describe it, since it allows the doctor to determine who to heal first. In a powered hospital, search odds for FAKS are good anyway, so you might as well heal one man 15 HP, search, and then heal the next. - BzAli 13:13, 5 May 2007 (BST)

RE Well, looks like this is getting shot down faster than ANY other suggestions.... I think it might even set a record! If anyone has any ideas about how this could be made to work, both me and honestmistake would be interested in hearing from you. Either put them on the discussion page of the suggestion or on my talk page. Look forward to hearing from you.--Seventythree 18:36, 5 May 2007 (BST)
  10. Kill - This doesn't seems like a boost as to what boxy said, and diagnosis basically aids in the same way as the purposed triage. --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 01:07, 6 May 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill - The only use I see here, is for curing infections if you're low on FAKs and not AP, but then I suppose you're already in a hospital anyway. Just not seeing this one. --Rgon 20:05, 9 May 2007 (BST)
  12. Kill - And I'm sure this is a dupe, but won't look for it. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 10:05, 14 May 2007 (BST)
  13. Kill - As above. - JedazΣT MC ΞD CT SR: 09:37, 15 May 2007 (GMT)
  14. Kill, Change - I like the making powered hospitals more usefull thing, cause frankly surgery is useless. But healing three infections, even without life gain, I think, would be a large nerf to infectious bite. --karek 07:18, 16 May 2007 (BST)
  15. Kill - I agree that we need to make hospitals more useful, but if you need to spend 3 AP to heal a total of 15... not effective StarDolphin 23:47, 18 May 2007 (BST)
